Dr. Bates

"Did you get it figured out?"

"Well, I'd think so."

Silence lingered over the phone line for a moment.

"Doctor, it's a yes or a no. Don't make me remind you of what happened to the last doctor that failed me. Now Doctor Bates, did you get it figured out?"

"Yes sir, I did."

"Ah, good. I will see you Wednesday morning then. Have a good day."

"Tha-" The call ended.

He placed the phone down, while running his opposite hand through his hair. Beads of sweat dripped down his temple as sudden realization swept over him. His skin went pale, and his hands went clammy.

Julie had the ability to control and invade dreams. She'd taught herself that long ago when she and Bates were in their moment of interest. His mind swirled and swiveled from left to right as he began to realize that in the end, he would still lose.

He swiped everything off the desk in a fit of rage and fear. He began pulling books off shelves to find a solution, to find anything to help him. To get him out. To save himself. Once he reached the fourth shelf he was almost out of all hope, until he found a small pamphlet that slipped out of one of Julie's own pieces of writing.

Soft Lilly Camp.

He plopped down, scanning over the sheet of paper, not finding anything. Reading over the pages, nothing made sense. It sounded like a perfectly normal camp. Then why was the pamphlet being hidden?

Plunging in yet another search, Bates pulled a small black light out of the desk drawer. Running the light up and down the pamphlet there were all her secrets.

In secret ink:

4708 Gates Passage, Gould City, WA. Its safe to learn your abilities.

On each page it explained everything this camp could and would offer for the supernaturals just learning their abilities all over the continent. And Bates knew this was his escape. Collecting his things he began out the door, shoving the pamphlet into his pocket.

"Doctor, is everything alright?" One of the bodyguards asked.

"Oh yes, I was told to search the room to find any leverage we had on Julie but no such thing came. I'm going to find myself some food though, I'm starving."

"Alright sir, be safe."

With a nod, he was gone. And there was no way in hell he was coming back, in any way you looked at it he would be walking back into his death sentence.
