The Ultimate Priest System

"You're joking, right? You want me to preach?" "Ding! Host is currently bound to the Ultimate Priest System! As such, please work hard to level up!" "Do you have some misconception on what Priests are? They're supports! They provide heals, buffs, debuffs and enchantments!" "Please work hard host! You will definitely become a Godly Priest!" "Gods don't even exist in this world!" "Ding! You can do it Host! I believe you will make the world believe that Gods exists!" "......" ----------------- If this was a dream, then perhaps this was the best dream she ever had. Waking up in a fantasy world with Warriors that could flip mountains, Mages that could control the heavens and Priests that could resurrect the dead, Yue Qin was determined to enjoy her new life while being a salted fish. She had absolutely no ambitions to conquer the world or to test the "protagonist halo" which the stories on Earth always described transmigrators to have. Then she activated the Ultimate Priest System and her dream seemed to fly further and further away from her.

The System Appears

A system? Yue Qin blinked in confusion, wondering if she was hallucinating and hearing voices now.

"Are you talking to me?" Yue Qin voiced aloud in her own head.

"Who else would I be talking to?" A deep voice answered in a flat dead tone. Yue Qin hesitated for a moment, unsure about the voice which had suddenly appeared in her head.

"So you're saying you're the Ultimate Priest System?"

"Yes."

"Alright... And what are you supposed to do?" Since the voice was claiming to be a System, then she might as well find out what it was all about.

"Of course I'll turn you into the Greatest Priest that ever walked the lands! Didn't you just wish to be a Priest? I can make your wildest dreams come true!"

"Errr..." Yue Qin wanted to scratch her head as she thought back about her earlier thoughts. Yet, no matter how she wrecked her brain, she couldn't remember wishing to be a Priest. In fact, she only thought about how although being a Priest would be good, being a Mage would be even better. Hesitantly, she said, "This.... actually I'll prefer to be a Mage. Could you make me a Mage?"

Where was the fun in being a support when she could be a godly DPS instead? The scenes which the man had shown them all earlier played in her mind again. The scenes of destruction which the Mages left in their wake was mind-blowing. In comparison, being a Priest seemed rather tame.

Yet, all that greeted her was the angry voice of the system. "No way! I am the Ultimate Priest System! How can you ask me to make you a Mage? If you don't want me then I'll just terminate you!"

A cold mechanical voice rang out. "Termination in progress... 1%..."

"Ter-Terminate?! Wait!" Yue Qin cried out in a fluster. "Of course I want to be a Priest! I want to be the best Priest ever!"

Dammit. All she did was ask a question. Did the System have to react like that?

"Termination cancelled." Hearing those words, Yue Qin let out a sigh of relief. Although she wasn't sure what the term 'Termination' entailed, she was sure it would be nothing good.

On the bright side of things, becoming a Priest wasn't too bad an option. Although the idea of dealing high damage was extremely enticing, the thought of being able to utilize plenty of utility skills also greatly appealed to her. The only thing that was scary about being a support was when you encountered pig-like teammates.

Still, the idea of having a system made her both excited and nervous. The system would be her golden finger allowing her to soar to the skies. Yet, if there was anything life taught her, it was that nothing in the world was free. What price would the system demand from her? Moreover, just because she had a system didn't mean she was the only special one in the world. Since there was her, who knew how many others like her were there out there? How many stories had she read of counterattacks by the cannon fodder? Or where the protagonist devoured the golden fingers of the other 'children of heaven'? Or where the systems would demand outrageous requests from their host and the host would have no choice but to comply or risk being terminated?

Would her system be like those stories she read about? Would her system be worth the trouble that followed? There was no way that Yue Qin could answer that question now, but it didn't seem like she had a choice either. As such, all she could do now was to embrace the benefits the system brought her and try her best to increase her ability to survive. Yet... her dream was to be a salted fish...

Yue Qin sighed feeling rather conflicted. She had never been an overly ambitious person. She would be content living an average and peaceful life. Even in this world of magic, as long as she was able to continue learning magic and have enough money to live a good life, wasn't that all she needed? Would the system allow her to do that though? She wasn't sure.

"System, who are you? What is your goal? Were you the reason I transmigrated?"

"Question pending… Question pending…Request denied. Host's level of clearance is too low, please work harder to level up!"

Yue Qin restructured her question. "Alright, then what can you tell me? What do you mean by the Ultimate Priest System? What exactly is it you want me to do? And what exactly should I call you? Do you have a name?"

"System does not have a name. You may call me whatever you wish. Names are fleeting and merely the formation of a person's perception. The System will release missions for you to accomplish that will allow you to become the greatest Priest."

"What sort of missions exactly?"

"Host will naturally know when the missions are released."

"Alright, then, for now, I shall call you Apollo after the God of Healing and the Sun. After all, you are the Ultimate Priest system, right?"

"Pending... Pending... Approved. Ding! System has now been renamed, Apollo. Does Host want to open the newbie gift package?" The System repeated.

"Yes!" Alright, she might as well take a look at what the Novice Gift Package entailed. Hopefully, there was something that could help her form her Core.

"Ding! 3 Golden treasure chests, 1 Memory Fusion Ball, 2 Inferior Grade Elemental Stones and 10,000 dollars received. Host has also obtained 30 free stats points. Does Host wish to open the treasure chests, use the points and use the item now?"

"Open the chests!"

3 large golden treasure chests, engraved with arcs of blooming flowers and soaring birds, highlighted by a bright spotlight appeared in her head. All of them opened at the same time, an item rising out of each chest, surrounded by a shimmering silver haze. From the first and third chest rose an ancient-looking tome, while from the second rose a glowing bracelet.

"Congratulations! Host has obtained the Supreme Body of Holy Light, an Iron-Ranked storage bracelet and the Gold-Ranked skill Individual Healing. Does Host wish to receive the rewards now?"

Yue Qin was about to impulsively agree before she remembered where she was. Who knew if there would be any consequences after obtaining the rewards? She had once read books where after the protagonist received rewards that changed their body, they would emit a foul black sludge containing all the impurities they gained over the years.

Moreover, she was more interested in whether any of them could solve her current predicament. "System, can you explain the rewards? Can any of them help me form a Core now?"

"Of course, Host. I can certainly tell you what all the items are. None of them would be able to help you form a Core directly but 2 of them would be able to assist you in forming one; The Supreme Body of Holy Light and the Memory Fusion Ball."

Suddenly, Yue Qin felt screwed. "What do you mean they can't help me form a core directly but can only assist me in forming one?"

"It means exactly what I said. As you should have felt already, many elements exist in this world and everyone's bodies have elements that they are more inclined towards than others. The Supreme Body of Holy Light is a body that is innately inclined with the light element. Once you have this body, it will be a piece of cake for you to form a Priest Core. This is because sensing light elements and casting light elemental magic will become as easy as breathing to you. In other words, it is the best body a Priest or a Light Elemental Mage can ask for. Host is truly lucky for opening such a gift from just a Gold Chest. The probability of getting it is less than 1%."

Yue Qin's eyes furrowed contemplating whether she should receive that gift now. Although the System had said it would make it a piece of cake to form a Core, it still didn't solve the key issue of her not knowing how to form a Core. "And the Memory Fusion Ball?"

"The Memory Fusion Ball would allow you to integrate all the memories of this body as your own. As such, you would also gain all the knowledge this body had learnt." Yue Qin hesitated, wondering if it was a good idea to absorb all the knowledge now. She didn't know what would happen in the process of absorbing the memories, but she was sure that she would catch the attention of the teachers stationed nearby.

What if she fainted while absorbing the memories? It was too great a risk. Then, thinking about what Apollo said earlier, she decided to try her luck first. "Apollo, you're supposed to help me become the greatest Priest right?"

"Yes, Host."

"Then can you give me a way to form a Holy Core?"

"Host can just fuse with the memories, and you will learn how to form a Core."

"But can you guarantee nothing would happen to me while I'm fusing the memories? After all, in case you didn't notice, I'm in the middle of my School's Core Formation Ceremony. There must be another way right?" Yue Qin continued to probe. "Do you have a system store where I can buy a Holy Core?"

From what she remembered, most Systems all had stores in novels that allowed the Host to buy anything under the sky.

"Host's level is too low to access the System Store. Please work harder to level up!"

Damnit. She was so dead if the System could not help her.
