Chapter 51 Mr. Blue

Previously, Leon had easily dispatched the abomination, then he slashed his Heart opened, also removed his head, and making him vanished in thin air, leaving no trace behind.

And now, it was Hulk's turn to be pummeled into the ground once again.

Leon lowered his head and gazed at Hulk beneath his feet.

Even though Hulk had been struck twice by Leon, he wasn't able to muster the strength to rise.

This was still Leon's mercy; otherwise, Hulk would have been defeated effortlessly like the abomination.

At that moment, high up in the sky, Betty found the courage from within and pushed away the soldier who was holding the machine gun.

"No, Betty, come back," General Ross bellowed.

He was both frightened and furious - frighten by Betty's action, angry that she risked herself for Hulk, and deeply concerned that she might provoke the hostility of that monster (Leon).

But Betty pulled the trigger.

"Da da da."

A burst of gunfire rained down from the sky, but Betty, not being a soldier, struggled to aim at Leon, and the bullets found no clear target.

Leon sighed; his immense power was enough to shatter a person's spine.

It wouldn't be good to accidentally harm someone.

He had to lift his head, track the trajectory of each bullet, and neutralize them with his Heat ray.

"Hey, don't let your girlfriend intervene; I still have business to finish," Leon said as he nudged Hulk, who was pretending to be unconscious.

Hulk slowly rose, stealing glances at Leon, feeling uneasy in his heart.

But he also sensed that Leon didn't mean to kill him.

Witnessing this, Betty finally halted her attack.

"What you need to learn isn't how to control your anger; it's not even about suppressing it. What you truly need to learn is how to accept yourself," Leon suddenly declared while looking at Hulk.

Leon knew that Hulk's power stemmed from boundless anger, and the more furious he became, the stronger he grew.

There was even a notion that the Hulk transform due to his anger, and with more anger he becoming larger or even sprouting extra limbs.

There existed countless versions of the Hulk.

However, only this particular version of the Hulk, the one in front of Leon, was somewhat unique.

The reason being that Hulk inherently had his own personality, meaning he was not solely an extension of Bruce Banner; rather, he had a split personality.

In simple terms, Hulk was Hulk, and Dr. Banner was Dr. Banner.

Yet, at this moment, Hulk seemed to be under the influence of Banner's personality.

In reality, it was due to the movie's portrayal.

Hulk stared at Leon, catching his breath.

He had given his all in this battle, especially after enduring Leon's two attacks, leaving him with no opportunity to rest until now.

He appeared unable to speak yet.

Leon glanced at the plane overhead and noticed Betty looking at Hulk with concern.

"It's time for me to go." Suddenly, Hulk observed that Leon had no intention of attacking further and turned to leave.

Leon didn't stop him, for he also had other matters to attend to.

Not Natasha Romanoff and Barton at the bar, but something else on the opposite side.

At Leon's speed, no one noticed his departure, as he moved far faster than the speed of light. Even if someone stared directly at him, they wouldn't be able to perceive his movements.

And so, Leon vanished as well.

The street fell into silence once again.

But where did Leon go?

In fact, many people might have recognized the scene with Hulk and the Abomination, as it was a reference into "The Incredible Hulk" storyline.

In that movie's plot, there was a character who called himself Mr. Blue, promising to help Dr. Banner find a way to return to normal. However, he ended up betraying Banner and was ultimately 'gently' asked by Blonsky to transformed him into something like hulk, the Abomination.

So why did Leon want to find him?

In reality, this sequence isn't random. Few people know that there was an animated series released prior to "The Avengers" movie.

It served as a prelude to the Avengers, presenting certain events that were inconvenient or untimely to include in the film.

In that comic storyline, Natasha Romanoff was personally involved in the battle against the invincible Hulk.

How could S.H.I.E.L.D. not be aware of such a significant event?

Even Natasha Romanoff dealt with Mr. Blue.

This means that although "The Incredible Hulk" didn't explicitly explain what happened to the Abomination and Mr. Blue, in the comics, General Ross took custody of the Abomination, and S.H.I.E.L.D. took custody of Mr. Blue.

And Mr. Blue, whose real name is Samuel Stern, is not an ordinary individual. He initially sought to use Banner's genes to develop a drug that would bring him fame.

However, after turning Blonsky into the Abomination, he was defeated and accidentally exposed to the Hulk's serum, causing a mutation.

As a result, his intelligence increased a thousandfold, and his head enlarged.

He is one of Marvel's villains, known as "The Leader" or simply "The Head."

The Leader and the Abomination are two of the Hulk's most iconic adversaries.

Though the Abomination is dead, Leon couldn't simply forget about him.

What's more, Samuel Stern, the big-headed villain, already possessed the serum of Hulks blood and the secrets of genetic mutation.

It was unthinkable for Leon to let him go. Consider the consequences if he were to sell it to some country, or were to create an army of 100,000 Hulks.

Thus, Leon quietly arrived at Samuel Stern's laboratory, finding him still lying on the ground.

Without giving Samuel Stern any chance, Leon unleashed his Heat ray from his eyes, obliterating him.

Many might wonder why Leon always resorts to his ultimate move so readily.

To clarify, who said the Heat ray is Superman's ultimate move? Although it's one of Superman's classic abilities, it's not his ultimate move.

Unlike Darkseid's use of Omega rays as a powerful attack, Superman's Heat ray is just a routine method that almost every Kryptonians uses frequently.

The Heat ray is generated from Kryptonians daily accumulation of excess solar energy stored within their body. Think of it as excess fat or some might say fart. Would you hold onto it forever?

Furthermore, it's more convenient to kill with a glance rather than doing it manually, right?

There's no need to complicate matters when such a convenient method is available.

As for Samuel Stern's laboratory, Leon melted it completely.

Later, when someone noticed something amiss and went to investigate, they discovered that there was still molten magma inside that hadn't cooled down yet.
