99 Arazhan's past

Betaal sat inside a hut, his beady eyes staring at the wall. The blue skin has haunted him since last night. He heard the footsteps in the house, and he knew Shaman Yee had come after finishing her meditation.

"You look sad, Betaal." The Shaman said, her face creasing. "Shouldn't you be happy now that your curse has been broken?"

Betaal let out a mock laugh at himself. The irony is that the person who had once cursed him had now become his saviour. No, it's not him. If it were, he would have recognized him instantly. Betaal turned to Shaman Yee, his eyes searching for answers. "Shaman Yee, is it possible for someone who died centuries ago to reappear?"

Shaman Yee frowned. "No..."

"When the body succumbs, it is reduced to nothing more than dust and bones. However, the soul, Betaal, remains untouched by death's grasp. It doesn't know the finality of death. Why do you ask?"
