The Holy temple

COURTNEY'S POV

It was a week later when Viktor informed me that we would now be heading to the Holy temple, as we had a meal together.

"It will be a quick trip we should return from it quickly," he told me.

"Yes, Your Majesty," I agreed with him.

"Let's see what those idiots try along the way, let's bring this all to an end," he said to me as he met my eyes. I blinked in surprise at that wondering why he looked at me. He seemed to be anticipating the coup. He seemed confident in handling whatever the dukes had in store.

On the day of our departure, the Duke, Viktor, and his entourage met by the castle entrance. Damea was brought before Viktor. His arms and legs were still heavily chained up, his mouth gagged.

Viktor looked down at him as he was made to kneel before him. "Time for you to serve your purpose," he told him.

Damea had that usual furious look in his eye as he glared at Viktor.
