Tell everything you know about Kara

"I apologize for my competence Your Highness, please give me a chance," the servant begged.

"Lift your head you're not actually in trouble," I reassured the servant.

I didn't want to make it suspicious if I asked her to stay for no reason but if I made it seem like I wanted to reprimand her for something I was displeased with the other servants wouldn't question it. Really all I wanted was to ask a few questions.

"What's your name?" I started by asking.

"Lucy, Your Highness,"

"And how long have you been serving me?" I guessed it was common for royalty to not know all their servants so she wouldn't find this question odd.

"I started serving you about a month ago Your Highness," I had been right in my assumption she really was a new servant.

"Alright then, I need you to tell me everything you know about me and everything you've heard about me," I asked Lucy.

I didn't know the full details of Kara's personality. Princess Kara and her three husbands were only mentioned briefly in the story, in the 1st four chapters to be exact. They were mentioned to set up how evil Viktor was as they all died in the end then the story shifted its focus to the male and female lead. So her character and personality were heavily summarized. I needed specific details of her day-to-day life so I could know how to act.

Recalling what I'd read about Kara from the book, I knew Kara that she was an apparent idiot who wanted Viktor's favor, indulged in pleasure, and that she was also going to be killed by her husbands in the end.

She was born from the philanderings of one of the concubines of the previous King, King Matthew who was Viktor's father. The concubine had an affair with a knight and became pregnant with his child. She thought she could get away with the lie but as Kara grew and her facial features matured Mathew saw her hair and eye color didn't match either his or the concubine's. He immediately knew something was wrong and had the situation investigated, finally finding out about the affair.

King Matthew loved Kara's mother, she was his favorite concubine, and was making plans to make her his queen consort. However, when he found out about the affair and that Kara wasn't his, he was so devastated and heartbroken he had both Kara's mother and the knight executed. He thought of having Kara killed as well but then reconsidered it. She had already been crowned a princess, and in the world of politics, a princess had its uses. Especially, when it came to arranged marriages and gaining more power and wealth through them.

He decided to spare her so she could serve such a purpose in the future whether it be during his reign or Viktors. He thought it would be easier this way since he didn't plan to have more children after being traumatized by Kara's mother.

And so, Kara was raised as a princess in the castle. However, she was far from treated like one. She lived more like a servant. She slept in the servant's quarters and even did palace chores with them. King Matthew never called for her during her childhood. She never made public appearances with the King and Prince Viktor. The only thing that differed from a servant's life was that she had princess etiquette training and lessons.

She was just a princess on paper waiting to fulfill her role in an arranged marriage. She would finally fulfill that role when Viktor arranged for her to marry Griffith, Aldric, and Isaac when she was 24. That's when she was given her own room in the palace and began to get treated like an actual royal family member.

The novel said Kara was so excited to finally get treated like a princess and was desperate to keep her new lifestyle that she did everything Viktor told her to do. She tried so much to get his approval and be on his good side thinking he would acknowledge her as a true royal despite her non-royal blood.

But little did she know that Viktor didn't care about her at all. All he saw her as was a tool to use to accomplish his goals nothing more, nothing less. He knew she could possibly die when she married the three dukes but didn't protect her.

"I want you to tell me everything you know about me and as well as what you've heard about me," I told Lucy.

A look of confusion appeared on Lucy's face "I—I don't understand Your Highness,"

"Don't worry, I want to know all the gossip in the castle about whether it be negative or positive. Everything you know. Talk to me as if I'm someone who has never met me,"

A look of horror appeared on her face, "Are you looking to punish those who bad mouth you?"

"No, I assure you no one is getting punished," I promised her. "I'm asking for another reason."

The reason I chose the youngest and newest servant was because she would be less likely to question my odd random interrogation. As she hadn't been here for too long, I'm sure she wasn't too familiar with Kara's personality just yet.

I was in a dangerous position as Princess Kara since King Viktor was kind of observing her. Since she played a big part in helping control the three Dukes, he needed her to act a certain way for his plan to succeed. If I wanted to survive, I had to tread carefully and not raise suspicions to the other servants who may or may not report to Viktor if I was acting differently.

"Everyone says that you are obsessed with sex and that it's all you ever really talk about since you sleep with one of your husbands every day and do all kinds of wild things with them," She said carefully.

I nodded my head encouraging her to go on.

"Tell me more about my relationship with my husbands."

"Apparently Aldric is your favorite husband because he is big, muscular and has a large… " She paused nervously, " I don't want to be rude by saying it out loud."

I blinked a few times as I realized what she meant.

"I see," I responded.

Then I remembered the night before when Aldric was tied up to the contraption and my face slightly blushed as the image came to mind. Yeah, that definitely was a third leg. Then a more concerned look appeared on my face. Wait how did 'that' get inside Kara?! She was far too small compared to him.
