Esmeria was embraced by an eternal winter, however, it was not covered in a mere sheet of white snow. There was an enchanting variety to flora and fauna that adorned the capital. Such kind were not seen anywhere else in the empire.

As the carriages rode across the snowy paths, Nesrin noticed the wild flowers with glowing blue buds, dark trees that lacked leaves, and strange translucent birds that seemed to follow them like spirits.

Mist covered the mountains as the carriages reached high, and sun light shone through them in a dreamlike haze.

Despite the serene air that surrounded the capital, there was a strong chill that the winds carried.

Nesrin had opened the window of her carriage once and the blast of cold air that slammed inside made her wonder if they accidentally ventured to Antarctica.

Fortunately the inside of the carriage was warm.
