Ire of Queen

Sometimes, you know when catastrophe is about to strike you. Heart beating fast against your chest, numbness spreading across your face, beads of sweat forming your forehead before a stroke.

There were warnings for Zhenyi. Not one or two but several. However, chose to ignore the signs. She knew her instinct was not wrong. Her restlessness and anxiousness were not in vain. But like she said' live in the moment. Live in the breath' and calmed her heart.

Her heart was calm when she disconnected the call even when the phone call shook her whole world.

Her heart was also calm when the driver turned the corner of the busy wide road, seconds after displaying her what might be the nightmare for her if he was not saved. A nightmare that was going to haunt her existence if he couldn't be saved.

Her heart was calm even when she stepped out of her car and eased her way into the massive lobby of the ginormous hospital. A subordinate showed her the way towards the private room where the patients were admitted. Loud shrieks, moans gasps and cries could be heard. Blood splattered on the bodies like a canvas splashed with scarlet. E.R doctors were running followed by interns and nurses. Some dead, some half-dead, and some gasping for a puff of life.

For some like Zhenyi, blood was not something uncommon. They bleed and kill for power. But today, it was different, because the one undergoing surgery and battling for life was someone very intimate to her.

"We have reached," came the voice from behind startling her. The voice belonged to Long Jie. When she disconnected the call, she informed her driver to take her to the hospital. As he heard the word 'hospital ' something clicked in his mind and he proposed to follow her. To his surprise, she didn't decline.

When the statement registered in her mind, Zhenyi stopped, "Oh!"

"You sure, that's the correct room?" Long Jie asked her subordinate who showed them the way to the room. This was not the place he was expecting because her grandfather was nowhere in sight.

" yes sir, Mir Qin is in room no. 301," replied the man cautiously and continued, "Mr. Cao is in room no. 303."

"Alexander, brief me on what happened and why Sam was there," said Zhenyi while Long Jie was left in unrest. "And who ordered Cao Feng to follow Sam.?"

Suddenly, Long Jie's phone rang, and noticed he had almost ten missed calls. And as expected, the Long family was in utter chaos.

"Hello, brother where are you?" came a worried voice from the other side.

"Hospital," was Long Jie's reply which left the other party anxious. The other party was no one but Long Wei.

"Someone hacked into the main server. We lost a significant amount of data. Ten of our men were killed at Hong Kong's base. Two trucks were stolen on China-Laos border" Long Wei reported.

"You are telling me we lost hundreds of millions within few minutes," was Long Jie's response with an irritated face.

"Broth-"

"No Wei. I need answers"

" Just give me time till morning"

On the other side…..

"Brief me in detail, Alexander," said Zhenyi while looking at the red light of the operation theater.

"Mr. Qin received information that someone was planning to blow our base. He tried contacting you but failed. Then he reached Mr. Cao and his team. They were successful in saving the base but the enemy was smart and tried to assassinate both of them. They would have been dead if not for Mr. R, " reported Alexander.

She sat on the couch and said, "Take assistance from doctor Song's team and inform Ms. Fan to reach China as soon as possible to take charge of Cao Feng's position."

"Ma'am should I inform Master Xin?" asked Alexander.

Zhenyi pondered for a minute before saying" wait till tomorrow"

"Also make sure the news doesn't leak," Zhenyi added.

Currently, the Xins were at war with an unknown enemy, Longs were suffering from their own problems two and Sam Qin and Cao Feng were fighting with their lives.

And suddenly, her heart was not calm anymore, her palms were sweaty, arms heavy and knees so weak they could give in any moment. But on the surface, she appeared all ready to conquer the world. The one who attempted to assassinate her best friend would die thousands of deaths everyday. No one hurt her loved ones and returned unscathed. They had yet to encounter the ire of the merciless queen.
