Ling Fei, face taut, followed the man in black all the way into the villa living room. Instead of seeing Sun Lei, she met an elderly man dressed in a Tang suit, vigorous and spirited.
The man stood in the living room, his hands held behind his back, pacing ceaselessly.
As Ling Fei stepped in, the old man halted, his gaze intensely piercing as he quickly surveyed her from head to toe. His expression was stern, devoid of any hint of a smile.
Ling Fei could not help but stiffen at the man's air of authority, radiating from his very bones.
She felt as if she had seen this old man somewhere before, but on closer inspection, he was wholly unfamiliar to her.
The old man was in robust health.
Though clearly advanced in years, hair entirely white, Ling Fei estimated him to be at least in his seventies, if not his eighties.
