Finally Awake

Darkness. Infinite never ending trail of darkness. It was like she wasn't even walking, she was floating.... on clouds with no array of light.

Bleak darkness... She could feel nor move, like she was shackled or paralyzed.

It felt like it's been years and sometimes it felt like it's been just mere hours that she is doing this for.

Then at the end of the dark passage, after what felt like an eternity, she saw light and tried thrashing to grope it like the last shred of her sanity.

She heard a continuous noise hammering on her head.

'BEEP... BEEP...BEEP...'

She opened her heavy eyelids with everything in front of her a blur.

Blinking with a fever she cleared her vision. The ceiling was lavish to say the least, she turned to the beeping sound and realized she was attached to machines but the place was definitely not a hospital.

She tried to get up but all her body felt too heavy to move.

Wincing and whimpering she manged to sit.

The door was then opened revealing a middle-aged woman in a nurse dress who gasped and dropped the cleaning supplies she was holding in shock.

"Wa...water." Lu Xinyi croaked out feeling the itching in her neck.

The nurse who was frozen in shock immediately got out of trance and rushed forward and poured water in a glass and handed it to Lu Xinyi.

"Yes, Yes Miss, there it is. Let me call the doctor for you." The woman didn't wait for her response but left the room in a hurry.

Lu Xinyi drank the water and felt her throat was relieved. She sat there observing everything with a frown etched on her face.

All her limbs were aching like they were ran over by a bulldozer and her head was aching as if it would explode.

The door was again burst open with at least four people rushing in the room including the maid from before.

The two female were definitely nurses and one foreign looking man seem to be a doctor with a white coat. The fourth man was most probably the Butler of the house by his way of dressing.

They all seemed relieved to see her awake which made her rethink about who these people were.

"How are you feeling Miss?" The Doctor came forward and asked.

Lu Xinyi looked like a deer caught in headlight and looked at the intimidating Butler who was assessing her with a glare and hesitantly nodded her head.

"Arr...I mean-Forget it. Miss can you tell me your name?" The Doctor asked again.

Lu Xinyi frowned her brows and blinked her eyes, "I..I don't know. Who am I?"

The Doctor didn't look surprised as if he was already expecting this but nodded and wrote something on his clip board, "Miss you are Lei Xinyi. Now, Lei Xinyi I would like to take some tests of you to make sure everything is Okay."

Frightened and helpless Lu Xinyi asked again, "Wh...What happened to me?"

A nurse was drawing her blood while the Doctor replied, "Miss, you were in an accident and went in coma for four months."

"Fo... Four months?!" Lu Xinyi asked shocked at the news.

"Yes Miss." This time the stoic Butler who was standing by the wall replied in cold tone. His tone was menacing and far from respectful unlike his words.

The feeling of desperation and loneliness craved in her and her eyes teared up. No matter how much she was trying to think, she couldn't remember a thing. Everything was freaking her out.

Nothing seemed familiar. She couldn't remember anything. She wanted to see something that would put her to ease or make her feel safe.

Lu Xinyi looked away from the intimidating man and turned to the Doctor, "Whe...Where is my family and where I am? Why are they not here?"

Everyone paused what they were doing and looked at the Butler who was still scrutinizing her with a sharp look.

"Young Master Yu has been informed of your awakening. If he deemed fit he will come to see you till then I will advice you to not try anything." The Butler spoke with a monotonous tone.

As if her heart was already constricting Lu Xinyi burst, "I don't care what your Master deems fit! I want to go home. Take me home."

Lu Xinyi stood up on wobbly legs to walk out of the room but couldn't take more than two shaky steps and fell.

At her helplessness Lu Xinyi started sobbing on the floor. In a white dress sobbing on the floor with the sunshine falling on her from the window, she looked like an angel.

Her pale face was reddened from crying as she held her face and cried.

"Ple...please... I want to go...Sob...Sob... I want to go home. Please..."

The whole room was rendered speechless. She looked like a young naive girl caught in an unknown dilemma when they were told that the woman was a trained killer and cunning trickster.

The Doctor looked at the Butler who nodded.

Getting the permission the Doctor moved with caution steps to the sobbing girl on the floor and sedated her by holding her arm despite her protest which wasn't too much as she was already weak and tired.

As Lu Xinyi went limp, the female nurses took her back on the bed.

A little before the Lunch Break Yu Youhan office door was knocked and Assistant Jiang entered the room.

"Sir, Lei Xinyi is awake but apparently she has lost her memories. I have asked the Doctor to prepare the medical report."

Hearing the news Yu Youhan, who was reading a document looked up with a raised brow.

It was obvious Jiang Qinqin was more than ecstatic from the news of Lei Xinyi losing her memories. This way they couldn't interrogate her at once and Lei Xiinyi would have time till she is medically recovered.

Yu Youhan gave him an uninterested nod as a permission to leave and leaned back on the chair once the door was closed.

His instinct told him at the time of her accident that it was an orchestrated accident but he didn't know why he brought her in his Mansion of all the safe places he could offer.

Seems like he was going to know soon.
