Chapter 50: She Won't Get Hurt

Rhett’s POV

On my way to the library where I knew Eleonore would be working that day, I saw something that I was not expecting.

“Eleonore?” I heard my voice sound out in the air, and I saw my brother and girlfriend turn toward me immediately.

“Brother,” I greeted as I came up to the both of them, “what are you doing here?”

Eleonore stood up from his chair to greet me, and I responded in kind by smiling down at her and placing a kiss on her cheek.

“I came by to see my friend. What are you doing here?” Hayden’s voice broke the two of us out from our greeting, and we both turned back to him.

“I came to say hello to my girlfriend.” I told him as a matter of fact and then asked my question in turn. “Don’t you have that meeting to get to?”

“I do,” Hayden said as he nodded his head, “I was going to leave soon.”
