Eleonore’s POV
I woke up alone the next morning, surrounded by the sights and scents of Hayden’s bedroom. I wasn’t sure how long the twins had been gone for, but by the cold feeling of the bed on either side of me it told me it must have been some time.
When I looked at the digital clock on the left-hand side of his bed, it read that it was well past the early afternoon. The day before must have taken a lot more out of me than I previously thought. My body ached from the strenuous muscle work I had gone through, and my head was heavy and dizzy from all that had transpired between Bastian and I in his consciousness.
Next to the clock, however, I noticed a tall glass of water. There was a coaster on top of it to keep the water fresh, and a note on the side of it.
‘Take all the rest you need, we’ll be close by if you need us.’
