A lie told
Inside one of the rooms in a well-furnished manor that belonged to a well-respected vampire, an elderly man sat on his couch with his leg crossed, reading through a parchment with a serious expression on his face.
"This is bad," the elderly man muttered, now folding the parchment properly. "And you are yet to know what mark the girl has? Or if she is really human?" He raised his face, now asking the other man sitting on the couch in front of him.
The light from the candle cast a shadow on the face of the other man, making his white hair and wrinkles visible. The man was now nervously rubbing his frail-looking hands, worry etched on his forehead.
"Herschel, if what you're telling me is true, it means Kael's weakness and downfall are here," the elderly man continued, throwing the parchment onto the wooden low table covered with animal skin.
