The Academy of Tomorrow

Xizreth had got to the academy and moved in to his dorm early that morning. Even though today was technically considered the first day of class, the students were given the first three day to settle in and become familiar with the grounds. The campus itself was as big as a small city, the sooner he unpacked and began exploring the better. He did not want to end up being one of those students who constantly got lost on campus.

The door to his room opened as he finished putting away the last of clothes. A girl with reddish blonde hair and piercing emerald eyes walked in and surveyed the entire of the room, landing on me with a half smile.

"You must be the roommate, my name is Felice Samandriel. And you are?"

He took her in for a moment, the white quarter sleeve semi-transparent blouse, her black leggings covered by short black jean shorts, black combat boots, school tie, with her blazer over he shoulder. She appeared much the same as ever other girl at the academy with the exception of her arms with had blue tribal tattoos adorning it that glowed with a soft white light. She was Angelborn.

"My name is Xizreth Digas, a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

The name Digas had struck a cord in mind...Felice tried hard to recall where the name had come from. It would come back to her eventually, until then this guy seemed likeable enough.

"You got here early I see," she said as she moved her things into the shared dorm room. The rooms themselves contained two private bathrooms, a bed on each side and a divider in the middle with the coed dorms, making a more comfortable surrounding for both students.

"Yeah, I figured it would be to start learning the layout of the campus," replied Xizreth busying himself with the last few finishing touches on setting up his side and carefully placing a framed photo of his late mother and father.

The photo of his father had caught Felice's eye. She knew that man's face. He was a very prominent person in the States until recently.

"You're father is Vannak Digas?" She asked in alarm. He was one of the most powerful of the Demonborn worldwide, and by far the most powerful in the States. The fact that him and his wife vanished without a trace was no small feat. Being roommates with a prominent Demonborn might not be in her best interest.

"What of it? I'm not my father, nor do I hold his ideals about people, animals, or plant life. I'm just me, ya know?" He sighed and stood up.

"Care to take a walk with me and figure this place out?" He asked casually. "Or would it be too much for Angelborn beauty, such as yourself, to be seen with a Demonborn?"

Felice blushed deeply. It wasn't so much that he had called her beautiful, that was a common thing for her. It was the way the invitation to join him sounded like a challenge that had caught her off guard. He wasn't wrong though, most Angelborn did not associate with Demonborn, nor get along well with them most of the time. But, hell, challenge accepted. Her eyes lit as she smiled at him.

"I'd love to join you Xizreth, just give me a few minutes to finish unpacking."

Whether he realized it or not, she was being honest. She really did want to explore this place, and he seemed nice enough. And it didn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes either, she mused as she busied herself unpacking.
