Chapter 14: Running Out of Time
Enya strained her brain to try and remember the base chemical names, components, and different herbs. She'd learned how to see these things in a pharmaceutical environment, but to remember what flowers and herbs the compounds were made from?
That was a tall task.
She picked up sage, lavender, and rosemary. Anything she could brew to slow the progression of the toxins.
But what if this didn’t even work on Valor? What if she gave him something poisonous by mistake? She knew nothing of elf physiology. She could very well kill him rather than help him.
“How is he doing?” She called.
“Not so hot!” Jeremy called back down the long hallway.
The tenor of his voice warned her that she was running out of time. Not just for Valor, but for Jeremy as well.
She grabbed some bandages and alcohol for Jeremy and ran back to the room where the men were waiting.
