3 The Breakup

Sarah jolted awake with a huge headache after hearing a disastrous cell phone ringtone, which disturbed her dreams as well as her sleep. She poked her head out of the pillow and looked at her cell phone groggily, which ringtone was strange.

She groaned in pain, 'Oh man, who the he*k set this ringtone? Is anyone of his kin dead? He sure has some guts!'

She fumbled around her for a while and finally picked up the mobile on the bedside table. Holding it near her right ear, she closed her eyes again. She was in no mood of talking.

Sarah felt her whole body had become sore... 'Why it's hurting everywhere? I can't even move my limbs... And why does my head hurt so much?' she asked herself.

Before she could think anything, a girl's loud shrill voice came from the other end, which boosted her headache a hundred times.

"Sarah!!! Where are you?? My God, are you all right?"

Sarah finally recognized the speaker on the other end of the line, 'Oh, this Madame is none other than my friend and colleague... Spexy Isha... Hmm... She looks amazingly sexy and hot in those spectacles... But it's meaningless when she speaks... So noisy!'

"Sarah! Are you even alive?"

Sarah grimaced. "Who could dare to kill me?"

The loud screaming of her colleague made Sarah frown in displeasure and she held her mobile away from her ear to avoid the destruction of her hearing ability.

Still thinking about her nightmares, Sarah murmured, "Unfortunately for you I am! Do you know, I almost died in the hands of a demon?"

"Oh, really?" Isha's tone sounded sarcastic.

"Yes, my head is aching. Looks like it will explode any time." Ignoring Isha's mocking tone, Sarah replied while rubbing her throbbing temples with her left hand. "What happened to me? Did anyone beat me last night? My body hurts!"

Isha remained silent for the next few seconds before asking slowly and cautiously, "Babe, do you remember what happened yesterday?" She was probably trying to keep herself calm. Sarah could hear Isha taking deep breaths. Inhaling and exhaling...

After hearing her concerned question, Sarah's eyes shot open wide and she sat up straight. One by one, she started to remember everything that happened last evening.

"Oh, Sh*t!"

"Looks like you have remembered everything now." Isha sighed and started to speak again, "I too, was drunk last night. So I don't quite remember what happened after we had drinks. I thought you were sad so I didn't interrupt you and let you drink as you pleased." She sighed again helplessly.

Sarah was not listening to what Isha was blabbering. But suddenly, when Isha started speaking hastily and Sarah's frown deepened further.

"Sarah, listen to me, don't go outside for two days... Stay at home... Just switch off your mobile and TV..." As Isha kept talking, Sarah could hear noises on the other side of the line. Isha seemed to be watching TV.

Isha's absurd words made Sarah annoyed. "... And go in complete isolation? Am I a prisoner?" She asked, displeased. "What did I do? I don't remember anything at all!"

"You are very lucky, Sarah. Otherwise, I don't know what would've happened... to us all..." It sounded like Isha was talking to herself.

"..." What do you mean by 'to us all?'

Sarah's heartbeat skipped a beat. "What have I done?" She just had a few shots of liquor. It wasn't like she had killed someone... Although it was her first time, Sarah was sure she would not do any harm to others!

"Look Sarah, I can understand what has happened to you. That happens to everyone. Don't be so sad and lose yourself. Forget what happened and move on! Life does not stop for anyone. Everything will be alright." For the first time in her life, Sarah heard Isha talking like an adult and her eyes became moist.

"I will call you in a while..." She hung up the phone, biting her lower lip so hard and trying to stop the tears coming out of her eyes.

The same worn-out reason for her crying was- Betrayal and Break-up!
