I really wished I had music box or something to play some of the best music I ever heard while fighting bosses through my many games.
To me that motivates me more than anything. Music is a powerful tool, it makes me feel great, or sad depending on how it is played.
Unfortunately it seems I have to make up my own music in my head.
Making my way to the ring, you would never guess who it was...
It was Daniel!!! I mean he's the only character I know so far and the 3 Stooges I have to fight after him.
He stood there with grin on his face and said,
"Hmm? I could have swore I killed you... nah I'm just playing I know you can't die here." Daniel said mockingly. "Ready to die again?"
Approaching the ring I switched to third-person and nodded to Daniel as a sign of confirmation.
Daniel smiled and immediately vanished.
I stood alone for seconds and then rushed forward, standing still was gonna be the death of me.
Immediately Daniel appeared behind me, seeing as I wasn't dead, I continued running then a slash of light appeared and came straight for me connecting against my back and launching me out of the ring into the ocean.
Swimming back I noted that Daniel's attack seemed to have a little bit of tracking and next time try jumping it, move in a circle pattern, or attack the attack and see if I can block it with a attack. Oh and by the way I think I figured out a ability I might have started with. I think I can survive all insta-kill moves. I only fought Daniel a couple of times, but not once did he kill me in one move... So it either mean I have more health than I realized or I can't die in one hit.
Regardless this was useful taking one extra hit means I can memorize more.
I think thats why he throws me out of the ring as quickly as possible. He follows the same rules I do. He can only attack with a certain string of combos. I have only one, yet he attacks with many different and interesting moves.
Climbing back into the ring I nodded again, Daniel vanished. I ran in a circular pattern to see if he does the same move again and what do you know he did it again. He slashed a beam of light straight towards me and it tracked me as well... I stopped look towards the slash and swung my weapon. My overhead strike connected with the slash, however the attack was so strong that my weapon and stance was broken. Instead of going against the attack I used the flow and I pivoted with my back foot, twisted my body and stumbled forward so instead of backward. I quickly regained my footing and quickly resumed my battle stance. Then I noticed it, I saw a number floating in the air... It said, "Exp: 2, 8 remaining til next level"
What the- I got experience points?
Before I had a chance to collect my thoughts Daniel appeared above me and slashed me downwards with a familiar attack and I smashed into the arena and he slammed right next to me, indicating his physical prowess. A familiar face and familiar move, I knew what came next.
This time I woke up in the bed I slept in... A more comfortable beginning then waking up in the sand.
I just got exp....
I slowly stood up from the bed and then....
I jumped high into the air! Daniel is absolutely right! I won't level up defeating him! I only level up by deflecting or parrying attacks!
I quickly ran back to Daniel and nodded before he said a word.
He did the same thing and I ran clockwise then he followed up with a beam of light I timed my attack and blocked it with my strike.
"Exp: 2, 8 remaining til next level"
Not letting myself get distracted I ran forward and Daniel slashed downwards with his insta-kill combo and barely missed me. Using the third-person view I gauged how long he had end lag for before he continued his attack. He fully landed and seemed to be open to attack, I charged and started my wombo combo attack, As if expecting this Daniel directly pointed his sword in my direction and my attack connected and the same thing happened before, I staggered like I was hitting a wall and before I could swing or move again Daniel followed up with a move so fast I didn't see the slash...
But wait, why was the world upside down? I couldn't feel anything or breathe...
and then I woke up in the bed.
Who knew bosses could counter? Everyone.
Also merry Christmas! it hasn't snowed or anything which is a bummer. oh well enjoy this slightly incoherent chapter!
