CHAPTER 2: THAT ONE NIGHT
Many of us knew that, Coimbatore is the only peaceful district, because of the pleasant climatic conditions. But, it also has a dangerous place called Saravanampatti. A college named Rathnaguru Engineering college was built in the place near to the Visuvasapuram-Saravanampatti roads.
Many use to tell that, the college is haunted and during the night times sharply from 10 PM to 3 PM, the place is told to have some paranormal activities in the place. Ghosts are also told to be roaming around the college campus.
However, the college dean and some senior most teachers does not believe this and some college students were suspended for creating rumors. But, later on, the college dean himself decides to change the timings, when his own college teacher got feared of seeing the ghosts on 7:00 PM.
Securities are tightened outside the college campus and the timings of the college was changed from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. After few days, the ghosts in the college starts to threaten the neighboring locals on some times, which fears them a lot.
As a henceforth, the people becomes alert and requests the college students and a group of youngsters to be careful and alert and also they are asked not to go into the college during night times, through their playful attitude.
However, a group of 2nd year college students consisting of Sanjay, Rishi, Akhil, Shyam and Sai Adhithya doesn't believe this and instead, they thinks it as a silly story.
"Hey dude. What a silly belief is this da? It's even more humorous than the before released Kanchana 3" said Akhil…
"Yes dudes. What Akhil told is right only! I think some people are fooling us with these type of silly stories so that, we will not go on night times" said Rishi…
"Come on, da. Let's move on. May be, it will be a truth or it may be a rumor. Why should we bother those things?" asked Shyam…
"Sanjay. Those people are telling that, the place is haunted, right. Why shouldn't we go inside the college and check into it?" asked Sai Adhithya.
"Yes. What he is telling is correct right? Why shouldn't we go and check into the college?" asked Sanjay…
"Ok. Let's go inside the college and check inside the place whether it's haunted or not" said Shyam and Akhil…
They all goes to their respective house. The five are brilliant and intelligent college students, studying in PSG College of Arts and Science. All hails from the middle-class family. For all those guys, Akhil and Shyam are the celebrities, because they helped the guys a lot in studies as well as thought-provoking the disciplines…
As they had become a strong and thick friends, guy's parents lets them to live happier and have a peaceful life style. Finally, Sanjay comes with a plan to visit the college.
However, fearing for their parents, he decides to stop them getting feared. Henceforth, he requests his friends to tell that, they are going for group studies and it may take late times, to which all agrees and manages to come for the college.
"Guys. The security is standing in-front of the college entry. Hence, we might get caught if he got suspected against us. Let's enter the college through the backward side of the campus" said Akhil and all agrees to go through the place.
They takes their step through the steps, where Akhil counts the steps from 1 to 15 and later on, enters into the Chemistry lab, where they opens the tap and sees it to be normal. Later on, they again enters into the Bio-micro lab where, they sees a human skull. It has took three to four hours for them to check the places from 10:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Everything seems to be fine for them and later, they decides to check the bathroom finally as their last step. Before that, Akhil says, "Nothing is told to be feared in this place da. But, as a final step, Let's also check this bathroom"
"Okay da" said Sanjay…
However, when they place their legs in the entrance of the bathroom, all takes their step backwards, since they has a unknown fear in their minds. After having fights with each other on whom should enter the bathroom in first, Akhil volunteers and enters into the bathroom. 10 minutes later sharply at 3:00 AM, he takes an exit from the bathroom.
However, his face is sweated and he has been feared completely.
"What happened da, Akhil?" asked Sai Adhithya.
"Nothing has happened da. Come. Let's go to our house. It's already 3:00 AM right!" said Akhil
Shyam, Sanjay, Sai Adhithya and Rishi decides to enquire Akhil about the events later on, during the morning times, since the latter is already feared.
However, the next day, Akhil's mother Annapoorani comes to the four's house, where she enquires about Akhil, since the latter is missing from yesterday.
Initially, the guys told to Akhil's mother that, he had came to his house and slept. They told that, he may have gone to the college.
However, later having Feared completely and concerned, one of the guys, Rishi reveals the entire incidents that happened yesterday and tells to his(Akhil's) mother that, they went to the college.
Akhil's mother initially scolds the guys and tells to those guys on the drawbacks that has occurred now because of their playful activities. Later on, they all meets the college principal and reveals everything that has happened, yesterday.
The principal becomes angry on hearing this and calls out the college security, to whom he scolds harshly for being so careless. He puts a condition to Akhil's mother that, these youngsters will be criminalized for their illegal entrance to the college and only when she accepts this, he will allow them to conduct a search.
She agrees and they all start to conduct a search in the college. At that time, Adhithya notices the steps and learns that there are only 8 steps in the corridor. Henceforth, he calls one of the college students and asks to him, "Hey. How many steps are there in this corridor?"
"Brother. There are only eight steps" said the student.
"For how many years, you are studying in this college?" asked Adhithya.
"I am studying in this college for two years, brother right after the inauguration of the college" said the student.
"Ok. Thank you" said Adhithya and he continued to go with his friends into the college.
The guys are further shocked when they noticed the Skull broken in the Micro-biology lab, where they has came yesterday.
"Hey. How come this skull could have broke da? I think I might lit urine when thinking about this principal. He is already in anger with us" said Rishi.
"Shut your mouth da, Rishi. Already we are in a pathetic situation. And you too, is now making us feared" said Sanjay.
Later on, they continues to move into the Chemistry lab, where the principal opens the water tap and when he sees the bloods, he backs off and Adhithya asks, "Hey. When we opened this tap, we found only waters to be coming. But, how come the bloods could come da?"
"I think, what our people told is right only, da. Something is paranormal in this college" said Sanjay.
Later on, the guys witnessed a college cleaner cleaning the lab. When the principal sees this, he asked her, "Why are you cleaning this lab, ma?"
"Sir. Someone saw a chemical been slipped into the lab and has informed to me. Henceforth, I am cleaning it" said the cleaner.
"Okay. Carry on" said the principal and he stared at those guys.
Having searched in all the places, the only place that has been left is the Bathroom. Now the college principal says, "Madam. We have searched your son at all the places. But, he hasn't been found in any places. Henceforth, let's search in this bathroom also mam. Because, the only place left is this bathroom"
He asks the security to come and conduct a search in the bathroom. Having searched all the bathrooms, the security steps into the fourth bathroom, where he gets a foul and bad smell.
He sees the blood stains and rushes back to inform the principal, having been feared and sweated.
"Sir. A guy's head and body is twisted and it is lying in the fourth bathroom side with a lots of blood stains" said the Security.
"What?" said the college principal and they enters into the college, while Akhil's mother faints unable to bear the shock.
Akhil's friends realizes that, they have done a big mistake due to their playful attitude and regrets for their actions.
"Now, do you realize guys? Because of your playful attitude, you have lost your friend. Will you be able to pay for it?" asked the principal.
"We have done a big mistake sir. Please forgive us sir" said Adhithya and Shyam, falling into the feet of the principal and he forgives the guys, out of sympathy.
The guys realize that, we should believe the words of elders and shouldn't conduct a research on what they are telling is right or wrong. They apologizes to Akhil's mother, who forgives them and lets those guys to go and move forward in their life while, the friends also apologizes to Akhil's photo, because they felt that, they became a reason for Akhil's death…
