Her lashes flustered open, her expression froze immediately and the first thing that came to her mind was curl herself into a ball subconsciously. 

Carter who had been standing by her side for hours waiting for her to wake up saw her little movement and he immediately raised his hand to touch her but to his utmost surprise, she hurdled her body at a spot, clenched her fist against the bed sheet. Her breath came out uneven as though she was in panicked state.

"Please— d-don't touch me!" She choked and her face paled. 

Carter's expression stiffened. Although he understood her present state, she was not in her right mind state. This was the aftermath of her recovering her memories from the incidence. 

He looked at his hand still frozen in mid air and looked at the woman shivering on the bed with her eyes closed. He pursed his lips and his expression darkened till it dripped ink. He dropped his hand back to his side and clenched his fist.
