Chapter Two

'She's waking up!' Someone squealed with excitement. 'Do we need the doctor?' I knew who it was, Felicity. Before I passed out, I had the nurse call her over.

'No, she'll be fine,' the voice of a woman I strongly believe is the nurse's said calmly. 'Don't stress her.' I heard her footsteps before the gentle closing of the door. I forced my eyes open then, she was there still staring at me.

'Hey, you okay?' She asked softly. 'I know you are not but I mean...'

'It's okay,' I gasped out and coughed. 'I'm thirsty.'

'Oh! Don't mind me!' She quickly picked up the covered glass of water on the table and brought it to me. She helped tilt my head up and brought the glass to my lips before I drank a little.

'Thank you,' I whispered. She saluted with an unusual extra wide grin. 'How long have I been out?'

'Three days. The doctors said you needed the rest.' I nodded.

'Thank you Felicity.'

'You know, I always thought that you'll be from a poverty stricken home, a family of lame asses but now I wonder how you got related to such a bad ass bitch!' She shrieked. I would have been really insulted if I knew what she was talking about.

'I don't understand,' I said tiredly, making sure my voice gave out my confusion.

'Of course you don't! I'm talking about your older sister Marielle!' My eyes widened, my heart taking a new pace. 'After I received the call from the hospital, I got ready to go but it was raining you see, I had to wait until morning. By the time I had hurriedly fixed myself up, it was way pass brunch. I was running out when I heard the most beautiful voice, much more pleasant to the ears than Manuwei's or any other. "Excuse me, I'm looking for Marinette Karnowsky, I was told she lived here. Do you know her room number?" She asked so politely. I almost passed out from how melodious her voice sounded...'

'Where is this story heading at?'

'Shhh, I'm not done,' she shushed. 'She was asking a short brunette but the Mamuweians were there so they quickly challenged her. "Why are you looking for that loser?" Manuwei asked scornfully. The girl's lovely face took a confuse look. "Pardon?" She asked clearly confuse...'

'Can you summarize the story and not narrate it the exact way it happened?'

'What fun will that be? Don't interrupt me,' she snapped. She really loves telling stories and that is why she aimed to be a writer. She was enthusiastic and couldn't wait for every little details to roll off her tongue with pleasure, she even stood up to add demonstration. "Why are you looking for Marinette?" Manuwei did hiss. The girl folded her arms calmly. "She's my little sister, what is it to you?" At that moment, everyone including yours truly was so shocked that you could have such a sexy sister...' I lost the zeal to listen after those words were uttered. Not because I was offended, but because I had more exciting things to ponder on. If indeed Marielle is the one she was talking about, then my life was as good as better because she will always defend me, it means she never forgot me. I really needed to listen to be sure. '...and she twisted Manuwei's fragile fingers until three snapped out of position. It was so fun to watch!' She squeaked with a very delighted laugh. 'She beat the whole army of seventeen plastic lalaloopsies like they were punching bags.'

'Yes,' I murmured.

'Then I came out and introduced myself with a very safe distance in case she tried to kick my balls...'

'You are female,'

'Shhhhh, I told her everything that happened, brought her here and when she saw all the scars in your body, she exploded, blew her fuss and asked for names. Oh you trust me, I gave her every single names of the fools that have made your life unbearable and she went after them. Just this morning, the news of all the Hellhounds found unconscious and badly wounded spread in the school gossip channel. Even some others who have hurt you got punished one way or the other...oooh! Like Sasha! Every hair in her body got shaved and she was wrapped up in poison ivy and hung down from the school building naked. She's legit! No one knows who did it but I do.' The door flew open that moment, a pair of angry eyes piercing into my soul and making me squirm.

She was outstanding, gorgeous, stunning! Her silky glossy amber hair flowing over and behind her shoulders in waves. Her well sculpted oval face added more beauty to her look, her electric blue eyes which always sparkled was still there. When I said sparkled, I meant starlight sparkle. I looked down at her body, my subconscious yelling out her hotness to me. Her beauty and feature had this dainty look to it, this fragile appearance that will make you think she is a delicate little flower, one that could break with the slightly wrong movement.

'You are alive,' she voiced out derisively. Her voice was indeed how Felicity described it to be. 'I really hoped you would die,' she sauntered to me as she spoke, her vivid eyes never leaving my weak body. 'I vividly remember that you promised me you won't let yourself get bullied, that you would be strong no matter what.' The sunlight reflected on her pale white skin, giving it a cheesy glow.

'Ever since you left for college three years ago, we only spoke through letters for the first semester. You wouldn't give me your address, you didn't call or text but liked the old fashion way. Then you stopped replying my letters, I had no means of reaching you because I couldn't ask our parents. I thought you abandoned me.'

'I told you before that the school I was going had bad communication means, I left because you assured me that you would be strong...'

'You are one to talk, you abandoned me!'

'Yet here I am once again, doing what you should do for your own fucking life!' She barked. 'Don't fucking use me as a fucking excuse for your weakness and patheticness. Do I always have to protect your weak behind! Being amongst humans wouldn't help you one bit!'

'I'm sorry,' I sobbed. 'It's not that easy.'

'Being a victim of constant rape, insults, humiliation, beating and so on, aren't you tired of it?' She was beside me now, not smiling at all. She sighed and stroke my hair, her eyes glistening. 'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you all alone. Look at your body, I can't believe I was foolish enough to leave you behind, I should have...'

'Don't blame yourself, it's my fault.'

'I'm going to protect you better this time, you are coming to my college with me, don't argue.' Of course it was a yes from me.

'I don't know the college you attend, I also have to start allover from year one?'

'Maybe.'

'When I sent you mails, I only had to send it through that small post office with the special post card you gave me and your name. Why is your school so secretive?'

'You'll see Marinette, you'll see.'

DAYS LATER

It all happened like a dream, one moment I was being beaten and molested, and the next I was in Marielle's car grinning at the trees she drove pass. I was going to live with her, I knew I would live just great.

'Welcome to Vamperville,' I read out the words written boldly in Italian on a big brown billboard. She stepped on the gas and drove faster, I felt something pass through me, it was ticklish. 'Where are we? I've never heard of Vamperville before,' I said as a matter of fact.

'That is the old name, they should have put it down by now,' she murmured, slowing down the speed as she peered out of her window. 'The new name's Twilight Myths.'

'That's a really strange name,' I confessed. 'And this town, it's here in USE?'

'We have other strange places, one no human is aware of. Anyways, my college name is Twilight Castle. The school is pretty strange, I hope you won't pass out when you find out later.' She said with a very sweet teasing smile, I shrugged it off as a joke. We came to a strong transparent wall, one that looked like water was running down from it but never getting wet, it was beautiful. She stuck her head out of the window and waved her hand.

'I didn't see that wall there before,' I muttered to myself.

'Since you can see it, then you are definitely a myth like us,' she sighed. A red light flashed, she waved something in her hand. It was like the car was scanned. 'My sister, Marinette Karnowsky, unknown mystical being but I suspect rare magic!' She shouted. She brought her head back in and wiggled her fingers on the steering wheel. Nothing made sense, I wanted to ask more questions but I knew answers won't be given. The wall pushed open, a loud heavy drawing sound, it opened a little, enough to drive through. She drove through the small opening in the wall, my throat instantly dried up, something definitely smelt different. It was almost eerie, too eerie. She drove pass some tall set of trees, pale looking trees. In few minutes, we came to a town, a dark coloured town, like a haunted vampire city.

'This place is scary,' I said with a little fear. 'There's no flowers, no music or plants. At least good normal looking plants, those trees look like ents and the bushes are shaped like dead people.'

'That's the view this part of town gives,' she chuckled. 'The town is divided into five, five set of peoples. A part of only black and white, everyone there wears black and white or gray only. Two, this part with pale and dark colours, you can also tell by their dressing,' true, they were all dressing strange. 'Three, the mix it up lane. The colours are mixed, like a normal town should be. Four, the awfully brightly coloured places with rainbows and flowers, so much they make me sick. And finally, the royal lane, you know the way castles are? Only royals and nobles live there, the colours are normal, by choice.' She loves colours, an artist by gift if I must say. She saying somewhere was brightly coloured must be really serious, I wonder how that looks like.

'There!' I shouted, pointing out of my window. I was sure I saw a lady grow an extra hand before disappearing into thin air. 'I just saw a lady...'

'Magician,' she said casually. I heaved a sigh of relief, that would have been very weird. As she drove deeper into the town, colours started coming out, beautiful colours and soon we were at the normal side of town. She slowly drove into the driveway of a house that looked like rainbow puked on it, the colours were too much but in a very beautiful way. The house was surrounded by blueberry and cranberry bushes with little rosemaries. She killed the engine and threw her hands up in the air. 'Welcome! To me rainbow arbour!'

'Indeed,' I smiled. She giggled while removing her seatbelt, I couldn't help but smile wider at the thought of a new life. We both simultaneously got out of her car, her beautiful twilight fog car with silver tyres. I inhaled the air, it smelt so nice in a weird way. 'The air here smells weird.'

'What do you smell?' She asked locking the door of her car. I inhaled again.

'I don't know, too many different scents.'

'You are definitely one of us,' she smiled cryptically. 'Anyways,' she said raucously. 'Ignore the scent and live with it. Follow me sweetie!' She squealed, bouncing to her house, the door was pretty and funnily enough, it had the painting of us having a pillow fight when we were kids.

Wow!

The interior of the house was reasonably painted than the exterior, it smelt better too, like a sweet mixture of lavender and blossom candles. The walls were lilac with white flowers and weird but beautiful designs, like an African pottery carving. The ceiling and floor were white, marbled, as white as her furniture and electronics. The windows were white with lilac flowers painted allover them.

'Wow! I love this living room!' She shrieked my mind out for me.

'The setting of the furniture is amazing, just like the colours.' I commented.

'Thank you, I had my bestie to assist me.' She chirped, the living room wasn't that big. She had only four cushions, all white and woolly. Sit on those and your butt get lost in paradise, sleeping paradise. The four cushions formed into a half cut circle, surrounding the small lilac marbled and glass table. On the table was a big white vase, one I think she made, with lavender flowers in it. A DSTV decoder remote laid on the table too, next to a white journal. The electronics were just a 32 inches Sony plasma, a DSTV and Strong decoders, a mini home theatre and stereo and something else I can't comprehend. All in white colour. Two tall plastic trees stood at each sides of the set, the branches were green but the willow like leaves were white and lilac. The floor looked like glass, I could see myself through it.

'I will take you to your room,' she said skipping towards a foyer, her slender body already disappearing into it. An orange door stood at the entrance of the foyer which was brightly lighted yellow though the wall was green and looked vandalized. Still cool. There were two doors at each sides of the walls, the first one had "gym" written on it, second, "computer room" the third and fourth were plain. 'That door is where I work my artistic magic and the last door my studio. Ace and I work there almost all the time.' She explained to satisfied my curiosity.

'Who is Ace?'

'My definite bestie, bro for life. You will meet all my friends soon.' She jogged up the stairs at the end of the foyer, my bags which I never noticed before in her hands. She moved like the wind, making me wonder if she even felt the weight of the bags. The staircase was white and red, an incredible mix up, she and colours. I inhaled and followed her up the surprisingly bouncy stairs. The second foyer was even more amazing! My jaw lost the ability to hang on, the foyer made me feel like I was up in the clouds, dancing in the midst of the cold air. The sun from the painting felt like it was real, almost like it was really burning my skin. I couldn't stop gaping.

'Heh heh,' she chuckled, leaning on a cloud. 'Love it?' I nodded dazedly. 'Ace and I did this, he's a great guy with lots of ideas.'

'You seem to admire this Ace guy,' I said with a teasing wiggle of my brows.

'Slow down, I have a boyfriend called Dermot, don't think too fast.'

'You have a boyfriend?' I asked in awe.

'Do I look like a kid not to?' She asked back.

'But you always said you hated boys,' I said incredulous.

'When love found me, I couldn't resist it,' she said with a giddy grin, a far away look in her eyes. She shook her head after a minute of staring into space and returned her gaze to me. 'Don't worry, you'll meet him soon.' She touched the wall, a blue line drew out her palm and waved through the wall, returning with a shimmering glow. Soon it was a sea door, like a real sea trapped in a door.

'How can you even locate the door in the midst of this clouds?' They were just painting but they looked so real. The door looked like a riff with too many colours and fishes, the water was really rippling.

How did she do that?

'It's my house, duh.'

'How did it change from cloud to sea? How are the water and fishes moving?'

'Magic,' she winked and walked in. She's acting strange, she is always strange. I walked to the door, my eyes never leaving the door, at least not until I saw my room. I found myself shrieking as I jumped on her.

'Please tell me this is my room!'

'It is,' she laughed. 'I know you love gardens so I had the boys make this for you before we arrive.' The room wasn't just painted into a garden, it WAS a garden. Flowers lined up around my room walls, butterflies flying everywhere with their different colourful wings fluttering gracefully. The floor was a smooth carpet grass, a pretty pool at the left end of the room. There was a four poster bed, one with light pink veil of falling vines and flowers. The bed looked like cotton candy. There wasn't any single sand or vase in the room but yet the plants and flowers grew tall... How is this possible?

'How did you do it?' I marvelled. 'The plants and flowers, the butterflies... It's beautiful and enchanting!' I couldn't quite place my words but it was breathtaking.

'The guys fixed it up, you love it?' She smirked.

'You hell well know I do!' I squealed and clapped.

'The bathroom is just by the painting of the chestnut tree. Wash up, arrange your clothes and all you need do but don't miss dinner by seven. I'm making your favorite...'

'Yes!' I shrieked, plopping myself on the bed. So much softer than any bed I've slept in.

'Welcome to my world little sister, be ready for what will come next.' I would have paid attention to how swift she disappeared out of the room, but I was too amazed by my room to care.

Little did I expect what was really up.
