Chapter 10: The Reflection in Everyone’s Eyes Part 2

Dante woke up only the next day, already placed in his bed by the elf Aldar.

Aldar - young master, young master, you are waking up, the old master said that awakening lineages would be complicated, but Aldar did not imagine that the young master would suffer so much, poor young master, young master, do you want anything? Water, a healing potion? Do you want Aldar to call the honorable Albus Dumbledore? The head wizard of St. Mungus Hospital?

Dante had just regained consciousness, his head still hurt, and the noisy elf by his side was not helping "I'm fine Al, just be quiet please my head still hurts a little."

As if pressing the mute button on a television, the elf instantly fell silent. Dante was still with his eyes closed lying in his bed, this was the second time this happened, the first happened 8 years ago when he arrived in this world, he read the studies of Salazar Slytherin that resulted in the creation of his body, apparently the old wizard wanted to merge the lineage of the 4 founders of Hogwarts in the hope of creating a perfect wizard, and clearly the traditional method did not please Slytherin, after years of research he created what would become the body in which Dante reincarnated, apparently the only flaw in Salazar's plan was that the soul cannot be created artificially, during the reading of the project of his body Dante came across the following phrase "previous experiments demonstrate that the addition of the powers of the lineages must be done gradually according to the development of the body of magical power and the soul, otherwise it results in catastrophic explosion of the specimens". The words "catastrophic explosion of the specimens" tormented Dante's thoughts as he opened his eyes and looked at his Hogwarts mark on his forearm now the yellow part of Hufflepuff was colored and the blue part of Ravenclaw had just gained color, around the Hufflepuff coat of arms the phrase "Plantae et Animalia respetient sicut amico vetere" surrounded the cheerful badger and now a new phrase adorned its side surrounding a beautiful bird "Vide quod tu es, quod fuisti et quod futurus es, et maxime vide veritatem." While Dante was thinking about the meaning of the phrase, the young elf brought his glass of water "here it is young master as you asked."

Dante looked at the elf to say thank you, "Thank you, Aldar…"

A cry of astonishment from Dante started a commotion throughout the room, "There's someone behind you, Aldar, how did you not notice!!!" Dante began casting spells trying to capture the intruder. The phoenix, which was sleeping peacefully next to the window, began to chirp and fly with the confusion. Dante dropped his glass, which, along with the phoenix's flights and teleports, caused Dante to hit furniture and objects all over the room. The confusion lasted until Dante realized that the strange figure neither attacked nor defended itself.

Dante - "Wait, stop, everyone freeze!!!"

Dante's shout made the frantic phoenix and elf stop for a moment. Dante then focused on the stranger, who had been hovering over Aldar's head the whole time like a ghost. The strange apparition had the same features as the elf, the only difference was a thick chain around its neck directly connected to Dante's hands.

"What the hell is this," Dante said as he tried to release the chain. Then Dante looked at the phoenix, to his eyes she was normal, but when Dante focused a little more on the phoenix, a similar apparition appeared behind the bird. It was like a second phoenix, Salaark, but it was burning in live fire and seemed much more majestic.

"Al, can you see anything on your back?" Dante asked the elf, who immediately shook his head in denial. That's when Dante looked at his forearm, "Vide quod tu es, quod fuisti et quod futurus es, et maxime vide veritatem."

Dante - "Maxime vide veritatem, I see the truth," I understand, these must be the eyes of Rowena Ravenclaw.

A doorbell pulls Dante out of his thoughts.

Quickly, Dante gets up from the bed and puts on his silver mask to become Prometheus Esposito and go answer the door. When he arrived, he saw Petunia Dursley bringing little Harry. It had become a habit for the Dursleys to bring the boy for Prometheus to take care of, of course, this was after some well-placed memory spells and some subtle suggestions from Dante (Prometheus). For the Dursleys to think that little Harry hated the place, which made it almost certain that he would be left there. But in reality, Dante, in his form of an 8-year-old child, spent a good part of the time taking care of and playing with the boy. Dante considered him as a younger brother from the orphanage. The little savior was quiet and well-behaved and always ate everything that Dante offered him. After Dante started taking care of little Harry, he noticed that the boy gained a healthy weight and smiled a lot more.

But on that day, at that moment, Dante had to control himself a lot not to slam the door in Petunia Dursley's face. Behind her, in what Dante would later call his truth projection, was a large spider woman. Her neck was as long as a giraffe's, she had claws, and if Dante focused on her interior where there should be a heart, there was a little girl crying desperately to reach the other side of her chest where a beautiful woman's body was. But an invisible barrier prevented her. The truth projection was like those images within images, with each focus of Dante's eyes, a new piece took shape. But as a whole, Petunia Dursley seemed to have come out of a horror movie. On the other hand, the boy next to her, Harry, was much more normal. His truth projection was himself, perhaps a little sadder, but other than that, he was a copy of Harry himself below. That is, if Dante didn't focus on the scar on his head, in the small crack on the child's forehead, Dante could swear he saw very red snake eyes.

Dante swallowed hard to keep calm and said, "Good morning, Mrs. Dursley, how can I help you on this beautiful day?"

The woman in front of Dante turned up her nose as if the neighbor's kind greeting was the least she could expect, and as if being in her presence was already a polite enough response. Her Truth Projection, on the other hand, was with her long neck circling Dante's house trying to find some flaw or gossip.

The sight in front of Dante was doubly disgusting and, thank God, it didn't last long. Petunia Dursley was in a hurry.

Petunia Dursley cleared her throat and began to speak, "I see that you are not working today as usual, so could you take care of the boy for us, Mr. Esposito?"

Dante had already noticed that the woman in front of him thought he was some kind of bum or unemployed, and leaving little Harry with him was not asking for a please , but rather granting some activity to the neighborhood bum.

Dante nodded at the woman, "Of course I can, madam, my son is a bit sick today and it would do him good to have some company."

Mrs. Dursley's look of disgust made Dante quickly add, "Don't worry, it's not contagious."

The woman, still with a look of disgust, literally pushed little Harry forward, almost making him lose his balance and fall. Dante's fake smile wavered for a moment, and the desire to cast a mild hair loss curse crossed his mind but was quickly suppressed by his rational side.

Petunia Dursley turned her back and left without saying goodbye or explaining what time they would return and if the boy had already eaten.

Dante, still in the form of Prometheus Esposito, took the little 8-year-old savior into the house. The boy seemed a bit upset, having just been abandoned at a neighbor's door by what should be his only family. It wasn't the first time and of course it wouldn't be the last, but even so, the truth projection and the boy slumped their shoulders as if tired. Although the boy in front of Dante wasn't crying, just sad, his projection had thin tears running down his face, which made Dante's heart tighten a bit.

Dante (Prometheus) - "So Harry, are you hungry? I'm going to start making breakfast and it won't be any trouble to make an extra portion."

Harry turned to Mr. Esposito and spoke very timidly and quietly, "No need, I've already eaten at home."

Dante (Prometheus) - had excellent hearing, but the noise of the boy's stomach growling greatly overpowered his voice.

Dante (Prometheus) - "No, I won't take no for an answer, I insist."

Dante started a cartoon on the television while secretly activating various alchemical equipment made for when he received non-wizard visitors. A hard light illusion would cover the elf as a cleaner or maid, and a simple spell would change his voice. The phoenix was covered by an equal spell that disguised it as a normal, albeit exotic, bird. If a bird expert saw the creature, they would notice that it was not any known species, but to little 8-year-old Harry, they were just a really short butler and a beautiful white bird similar to a swan. Prometheus prepared breakfast for Harry and went to "call" his son Dante to eat. His personal spell "Luminis Illusio" had come in handy in recent years. It was amazing how a simple light illusion was very useful both in battles and in everyday life. Dante could create up to 2 clones of himself that could distract enemies, or as now, simply make his pseudonym Prometheus Esposito and his real body Dante with the appearance of an 8-year-old coexist in the same place and time.

It was a pleasant afternoon. Dante only had to send his adult light clone "Prometheus" to say that he would spend the day studying and researching medicine in his room and for the 2 boys to call him if they needed. The two boys were able to spend the day having fun playing video games and swimming in Dante's house pool along with other neighborhood children. It was hot and Prometheus had offered his backyard to the children and neighbors. Having a passion for water and swimming, Dante had a really large pool built in his backyard and on summer days he even hired an older neighborhood boy to take care of the water and serve as a lifeguard on the days the children were there. Dante was really rich in gold and things at that time were much cheaper than he was used to so he didn't mind.

Harry and Dante spent the day playing in the water with the other neighbors. Over time, Dante managed to convince the neighborhood children to treat Harry well. Many of them were afraid of the Dursley's son and therefore stayed away from the strange Harry. But while they were inside Dante's house, the great Prometheus Esposito always magically appears as soon as Dudley Dursley thought about intimidating someone, which allowed Harry's acceptance in the neighborhood children's games.

Thus, in a happy atmosphere, the night was coming and the Dursley family returned to pick up Harry. They had spent the whole day at the beach and left the boy with Prometheus simply to not take him along. Harry was tired and sad to have to leave Dante and Prometheus' house, which confused the Dursleys, making them think that the boy was unhappy, and for some reason, this made them feel good.

Dante found them despicable, but he had a lot of fun today and with the help of the children, he managed to master the power of his eyes. Now he could turn his eyes on and off and depending on how he focused, he could see different things, not just people. For example, when he truly focused on a pencil, information such as the wood it was made from and the materials used in the composition of the graphite appeared in his mind. However, if he tried to read something more complex like a television or computer, he was hit by a severe headache and it would take a long time to scan the object. Another ability of his eyes was to see what a thing had been. It was like rewinding a film at an accelerated pace. He could see a tree regress to the seedling stage and disappear into the ground as a bud. The part about seeing what could be, however, was complicated. Dante's vision turned into a kaleidoscope full of fractals showing countless possibilities. Dante hated this, it made him nauseous and didn't show anything really certain. Everything was constantly changing, which left Dante with the feeling of spinning for hours.

Dante wrote everything about his new power in his notebook and went to sleep. Tomorrow he would go to Knockturn Alley to provide basic medical assistance and distribute books, toys, and food to the children.
