Chapter 2
Because I’m in costume and performing on a stage, people think I know everything there is to know about life in the Renaissance period. Heck, I have trouble remembering how to spell it.
The answer I give out the most is: The Renaissance period is from the fourteenth to the seventeenth centuries, and beyond, if people so choose to interpret it that way. After the tenth time per day I can reel it off without even thinking.
Or this: I’m playing a [whatever] that was popular in the [whatever] century and the song I’m singing is also from that period. That’s not always true, as I love to get into sailing ditties and naughty ballads from any period at all, depending on whether there are kids around or not.
