Cass stirred from his slumber as the alarm jolted him awake. With a groggy hand, he silenced the intrusive sound, pushing himself up from the bed. The soft light filtering through the curtains gently illuminated his room as he made his way to the bathroom.
After splashing water on his face and wielding his toothbrush with a sense of morning routine, he stole a moment to peer at his reflection in the mirror. A sigh escaped him as he took note of his long hair, a remnant of the original's preference.
Deciding it was time for a change, Cass retrieved a pair of scissors from his room, carefully trimming his locks until they rested just upon his shoulders. In the past world, he'd relied on the aid of servants for such tasks, but it's not like he could in this world.
