Bastian watched as Cass hugged Valerian goodbye.
"I'll see you tomorrow," Valerian said to Bastian and Cass before beaming out.
Turning to Bastian, Cass wore a proud smirk on his face. Bastian threw him his beamer, and Cass caught it before standing up to leave.
"You should go back before someone sees that you left," Bastian advised him.
Cass scowled, standing up and retorting, "Aren't you being a sore loser?"
Bastian whirled around to face him, demanding, "Do you think this is a game?"
Cass simply nodded and grinned. "It is, and I won."
Bastian stared at him for a moment before speaking slowly, "You were planning to do this whether I was in or not."
Cass shot back, "Why are you turning this around? You're just angry that I convinced Valerian and that he wasn't on your side. Aren't you taking this too far?"
