Miles entered the dining room and looked around, but Cass was nowhere to be found. He knew he had to apologize and make things right between them, even though he didn't want to.
Both of his father's plans had failed, and now the galaxy would feel even more sympathy for Cass, making it crucial for Miles to gain their love. The fastest way to do that was to ride on Cass' coattails.
Earlier, Miles had been so angry that he didn't think before insulting Cass. He doesn't want people to think he was a bully.
He walked to the empty seat at the head of the table, but before he could pull the chair and sit, Leia pushed it forward and said, "I've reserved this seat for Cass."
Miles took the seat next to it, and a few seconds later, Cass entered and took his place. Miles was angered by the way Cass sat like it was normal for him to be at the head of the table.
