Chapter 33: Yours Truly

The day passed by like a blur finally settling to the evening as we waited patiently and watched for anything happening so as not to blow our cover. The only noise that could be heard would be the crickets and the croaking frogs. No one dared to say a word while we were hurrying behind Madison as she led the way.

Madison being one of the responsible ones, someone gave her passes to avoid triggering the alarm system. We were all glad that she collaborated with us so now it would be easy to leave this place. But what if they ever come after us? Albert and that old man will surely find a way plus he seems hellbent on making us stay. I'm not sure he won't do anything after realizing a few of us are gone. That geezer did something to me and I need to find out what.

"When are we gonna get there?" Jin began howling. My footsteps were becoming sloppy and I began to wonder whether I was the only one who had a hard time keeping up. Lucian and Madison were hurrying like it was nothing while the rest of us reached our limit. It has been an hour already.

"Shut up and stop whining. If you can not handle it you turn back." I think we all know who said that as I veered around to face that monotone voice of his.

Imagine Lucian being fully human, maybe I might stand a chance against him. This guy!

"What he is trying to say is that you guys should try to keep up or else you'll get lost," Madison said breaking me out of my thoughts.

"What about Jake and Daffodil? Why aren't they here?" Anastasia curiously asked Madison who had continued to speak without turning." Daffodil said we should go ahead and that she would catch up while Jake said he needed to do something first. We are almost there you guys."

My eyes unconsciously drifted to Lucian. I wonder what he could be thinking right now. His sister said we should go ahead. Why not join us now?

Finally stopping, we reached the other side of the island. My body made contact with the ground and my entire body felt sore. The rest of us collapsed to the ground. As for the other two, they still had much stamina.

"You finally made it." My ears perked up at that calm voice and I raised my head to see the blonde girl with baby-blue eyes I had never seen before. Her entire ambiance gave off a calm and honest vibe. "We meet again. I believe I didn't mention my name last time. My name is Dahila."

She wore a beautiful blue plain knee length cold shoulder dress that complimented her skin plus her hair was also tied into a ponytail with bangs upfront.

"Yeah, we saw you in the room earlier. You didn't say anything aside from your name. That's creepy you know." Jin said abruptly breaking the silence and was followed by a scolding face from Anastasia and Elvis.

"There is not much time. We have to leave now." She calmly said. We nodded and followed her without questioning.

Dahila is... How will I put it? Odd? Strange? Mystic? Aside from from that, her tone is soothing too.

I first confronted her when Jin and I were called by John. She must be close to him. My thoughts dispersed when she looked at me.

"You spaced out Jeffrey." She calmly asserted. Strange and how did she know my name? I hope she is not a creepy stalker or anything. She looks too good to be one.

"Also I'm not stalking you. Remember that father called you by your name." I felt stupid after she said that. Jumping to conclusions, well I tend to do it so I guess I should think before confirming cases.

"Hey! Hey! Something is in the bushes." Jin pointed out to a bush next to his side.

"No one gets too close," Madison yelled. We all watched anticipating the next movement.

"Uwah! It's a snake! "I recognized that cowardly voice anywhere.

I felt myself slapping my face. Mark jumped out of the bush throwing the snake at him as it hissed angrily at him.

"Mark?!" Anastasia said. Behind him appeared Ash and Logan.

"Why are you guys here? We thought you didn't want to come." I said as I recollected them walking away with the rest.

"Let's just say we had second thoughts and changes at the very last moment. We made it in time at least." Ash explained.

"Explain to me why I'm here again. Never mind, I won't listen." Logan callously let out with a sigh. Mark stopped wailing soon enough. He peered at each of us before pointing at Dahila.

"I've not seen her here before." Ash suddenly followed up but Logan couldn't care less.

"My name is Dahila. You will know soon enough but first, we have to leave by taking this ship that I was able to plan out. "

"Oh! And on our way, Jake told us to carry this little brat along. " Ash mentioned. I wish Jake was here to see my dissatisfied face.

We were bringing Stuart! Can this get any worse? Stuart stuck his tongue out to me. Gritting my teeth, I started to make my way to him.

Unawares, A figure reached us lurking from the shadows. Albert! He jumped down from the tree and landed in front of us. Great, I jinxed it.

"Now, now... This is not right for children to be leaving without telling your father." Albert frowned glancing at each of us, especially Lucian and I.

"Like I would return. I can't believe I trusted you for two damn years." Lucian said angrily causing most of us to flinch. I knew we were escaping from these geezers but was the beef this bad? My mind was like, what is happening?

"Why did you place that damn seal on me? I swear I'm gonna kill you." Lucian said angrily. Those of us who had no idea what was going on tilted our heads. Just imagine us with question marks on our heads.

"I thought you might be glad that you will not be able to experience your abilities plus I can't have you get in my way. I need that boy and I need to kill every single one of your line. " Albert fixated his gaze on me. The friction from before felt more pressured now. What does he want me for?

"Come gently now or I'll be forced to do the unspeakable. " Albert spoke with much bloodlust.

"Everyone get behind me.."Madison began.

"What are you doing? This is between me and him. You have no say in this matter."Lucian yelled to her.

"I promised your sister that I'll take care of you. Now listen to me." She continued getting into a stance with a bow and arrow in hand.

"Where did she get those from?" Mark asked no one specifically.

"Alright. Force it is... " Albert announced dashing in. Madison got ready to shoot but soon someone swooped in blocking the attack.

"Get out of here. Now!" Daffodil yelled. She was with a sword blocking his attack. Flustered, but still moving we obeyed as Madison ushered us.

Lucian was still keeping an eye on the two not moving. She came off differently, her hair was fastened into a ponytail instead of her free-flowing one. She wore an armor-like green sleeveless crop top with matching long green fingerless gloves with a green cut skirt along with green knee-high boots. She also wore a dark green hood which stopped right at her top.

"What are you doing? Follow them." Daffodil said kicking Albert aside.

"You again. Another beat down by yours truly." Albert said.

"I won't leave you to battle him all by yourself. You'll die." Lucian countered back.

"Just go! " She yelled fiercely while pulling out a fighting stance. Lucian nodded and hesitated." But first, when you leave check the room to undo that seal." She finished.

"Don't die..."

"I can't make any promises." She said again before sprinting towards Albert. I continued to follow the rest hoping that we would make it in time and get an explanation.
