"Since i'm only a day old i don't know about a lot of things in this world. Do you mind if i ask you about it?" i question. She snorts a little amused
"Just ask your Master about that, why would you ask me?"
"He has a few anger issues, he's very intolerant of me so far" i say embarrassed. She snorts again, louder this time trying to contain the laughter
"I get it. So, what did you want to ask?"
"Aside from humans, you are the only other race I've met, are there other intelligent races or just humans and elves?"
"There are two others, the Merkin and the Skyads"
"I see" i mumble in thought, since the words were translated to 'merkin' and 'skyads' i had an idea of what the characteristics for those races were. Although it was a very broad description it was still useful to know, additionally i hadn't been corrected on calling her an elf so i had assumed right.
"What about your race? i've never seen a summon with your appearance before" she asks
"I'm a demon" I say confidently. I had been called many things, mostly out of fear, but the most common had been 'demon' or it's synonyms. She frowned and moved back to take a better look at me as a whole
"Yeah, i guess i can see it. But i thought demons were fiction" she says in confusion "and evil..."
"Have you met a demon before?" I ask curious, ignoring the evil comment
"I haven't. From what i know in stories told, they are supposed to be evil summons called down to the earth for wicked intentions. A ritual and certain artifacts are needed alongside a sacrifice to summon a demon" she says deep in thought. 'oh, that actually matches up with a lot of situations where i had actually been summoned and not sponsored' i muse
"I always thought they were fictional entities to scare children into being well behaved" she says interrupting my thoughts
"I'm very real" i say half laughing ignoring the comment about being evil yet again. I had lived for a very long time but unlike a lot of other existing races, morals were not something i possessed, however even without them i have only ever very rarely been hostile to any race, after all i'm an incredibly powerful entity that can afford to be patient, forgiving and naive. "Another question, i know players exist among the human race, do they also exist among the other races?"
"Not quite, players started to exist at the same time dungeons started appearing. Aside from humans every other race already had skills and mana so technically every person that isn't a human already was and is a player" she explains. I was surprised at the thought humans didn't originally start with mana and skills in a world like this, 'how did they survive with 3 other races that had such a huge advantage over them?'.
"When did dungeons start to appear?" i ask
"A few hundred years ago" she shrugs "i don't know specifically since i wasn't born at the time".
"That's enough talking you two, one more word and i'll send you to a discipline unit" the enforcer on duty threatened, it looked like the guy who brought me in had gone home for the day leaving only this man on duty. The elf hissed at him baring her fangs 'did she not like humans?'
I didn't say anything more and took a look at my status
"STATUS:
-Fullness - 24/100 (linked)
-HP- 100/100
-Corruption - 5/7 "
I grimace deciding it was not a good idea to wait until morning, i didn't want to disturb Master Victor's rest but i would prefer that over causing trouble by going berserk.
"Excuse me?" i call to the guard on duty, he looked over to me annoyed.
"Didn't i say not another word?" he barks
"Yes but -"
"Fuck! You're still talking? i said shut up, i don't care about your excuses" he yells throwing a book at the bars. 'Why is he so angry?' i wonder confused.
"Sir i-"
"Are you fucking serious?" he yells cutting me off again "Alright, you want to talk?" he rants storming over to the cage. Like the first guard he places his hand on the barrier and opens the door to the cell, he grabs me by my cuffs and drags me out of the cell locking it behind me. The whole time the elf hissed and backed up into a corner not wanting to get close. "Alright let's see how well you talk after getting disciplined!" he growls dragging me to the back of the building. At the back there was a door reinforced with another barrier. It opened up to stairs leading down, at the bottom of the stairs i was led to a room that looked very much like an interrogation room. Cells lined the walls with one side each having a table in the center along with chains that would connect the prisoners' cuffs to the table, the chair was also chained to the ground. On the other side, the rooms were almost twice as large but i couldn't see inside them at all. The Enforcer dragged me to one of the larger rooms, opening the door to an almost empty room. Inside was a bench topped with torture tools and a strap-in chair that used chains. 'i guess the human word for discipline on this world is torture?' i grimace inwardly. I wasn't looking forward to it.
"Why're you so quiet? I thought you wanted to talk" the guard snickered as he forced me into the chair and chained me down. 'If i resisted, even with barely more than 2% power, i should be able to break out and overpower the man, if more came i might be in trouble but one shouldn't be an issue' i consider while watching the man lock me in place. 'I was ordered not to cause trouble though, i'm sure not cooperating would be considered causing trouble' i think in annoyance.
"It's a shame i can't discipline you myself but i'll be able to see it all from the front desk anyway. so have fun" the man taunts before leaving. Not long later i heard someone heading towards the cell, when they opened the door, it was a new person. The man was bald dressed rough with a scowl on his face.
"So, you're the one who ruined my good night's sleep" he says looking at me menacingly.
