"It was a Minxy bear," Eden said on her way up to the unit Mr. Green was about to show them. The elevator dinged as they reached their destination on the third floor.
The elevator doors opened to a long hallway lined with doors on either side of the walls. Eden and Rose stepped out of the elevator first with Mr. Green following closely behind them and ushering them towards the unit that sat furthest from the elevator.
"Ah here we are, unit 313," Mr. Green said pulling to door open for them to take a look through the unit.
"Well it's certainly not as spacious as the price would have you believe," Rose said as she walked through the small entryway of the one bedroom.
"I think it's quite nice actually, the price is a little steep but let's see if this place could be worth that," Eden said walking through as well.
The apartment's living room was a mid sized space equipped with a basic flat screened TV hanging off the wall, the kitchen was small, so small it could be referred to as a kitchenette. Eden didn't really mind the size of the kitchen and moved towards the bedroom.
"Oh, absolutely not," Eden said with a small laugh.
The room was simply too small and came with an en-suite bathroom with a washer and dryer. The whole thing together made the room feel crowded, plus the smell from the washer would seep into the bathroom.
"I would prefer the washer and dryer to be outside the bedroom if possible," Eden said to Mr. Green who winced at the design choice for the room.
"I completely understand," he said.
Like a gentleman, he pulled the door open for them and led them back into the hallway so they could return downstairs to his car and go to view the next building.
----------
"This next building is a little less popular but fits into your budget at 1900KRV," Mr. Green said driving towards an old building not too far from the Portes building.
Eden could tell this was an older part of town, the buildings had a brick exterior that were and architectural styles that were no longer in tune with modern design. It had a cozy, story book feel to it that Eden liked.
She wondered if children would be interested in miniature buildings, Marshall Toys hadn't done that yet and she knew there would be a lot of interest in it.
To her, the large apartment had a bit of a historical feel to it. It was old but freshly painted, with hand carved fixtures along the trimmings and corners of the exterior. They were animal shaped in the form of birds, mainly robins and eagles.
"Wow it's certainly got some style to it," Eden said, staring up at the architecture, it was marvelous to be in such a district.
Rose stepped out of the car and took one look at the building. She gasped, holding a hand to her chest in surprise. Her eyes lit up as she recognized the building they were standing at.
"Do you know this place, Rose?" Eden asked, perplexed by the woman's reaction.
"Aww, this was the first apartment I ever lived in," Rose said in excitement.
"Really?" Eden asked, even Mr. Green was surprised to hear that.
Rose nodded, showing Eden she was still very fond of the place.
"I even tried to buy it as my first property ever, but they absolutely refused to sell it," The woman said. "What a shame too, I would have let you live there rent free,"
Eden giggled.
"This apartment is owned by Kairos Homes. It's been around for a long time," Mr. Green said. He stepped forward towards the entrance, allowing the doorman to hold the door open for him.
Eden and Rose greeted the kindly man as they passed by.
"This unit is also a one bedroom and is located on the second floor," He gestured toward the elevator that looked much older than the one at the Portes building.
The metal box looked beat up and clunky, with a metal grate as the door rather than the traditional slabs of steel.
"Uhh, is that safe Mr. Green?" Eden asked with excitement coursing through her. How very fun it was apartment hunting with someone who had your best interest at heart.
"Perfectly safe, It's just as I remember it from my 20's," Rose said striding towards the elevator and opening the grate. "Come on, Eden,"
She held out her hand for her Goddaughter who took it after some hesitation.
"I suppose the veracity of the statement is yet to be disproved," Mr. Green said straightening his suit and following them into the elevator.
It dinged once before lifting them up on a squeaky mechanical chain.
"That's going to take some getting used to if I decide to choose this building," Eden said, she felt the elevator work, whirring loudly as it dragged the compartment up to the second floor where they would be weeing the unit.
It dinged, letting the party of three out.
The hallway to the unit was a short, narrow road with only three units available.
"The unit is 222, I love that sort of coordination," Mr. Green said pushing open the door. "Feels magical," he commented offhandedly.
"Never took you for the superstitious kind," Rose said walking through the door he held open for her to walk through.
"One can never be too careful," Mr. Green said.
"Oh, it's big!" Eden said, the living room was easily twice the size of the one at the Portes building but didn't have more of the features, it was just a standard empty room. Eden walked into the kitchen, finding it to be an actual kitchen albeit a small one.
The bedroom was next, and it was larger than what she had at the Marshall Estate, her work table and tools plus some extras would also fit in here.
"What's their policy on customization?"
Mr. Green shrugged.
"So long as you can return it to its original state you can pretty much do anything," He said.
"I love it, but I would like to see one more before I make up my mind," Eden said pleading.
Mr. Green chuckled.
"Sounds good to me,"
