I tried my best to stop the devil, but he left anyway. We were hiding in a building's corner when people attacked us. I tried to persuade him to not go outside but he didn't listen to me. Instead, he said some harsh words, hurting me like he always did. I was worried about his injury, but that man had no care in the world when it comes to his business.
I rested my back on the wall and slid down slowly. I sat on the ground, pulling my legs to my chest. His words echoed in my mind.
I thought for a while about what he said. It was bitter but true. Maybe he was right that I was nothing but baggage for him that was weighing on him. I haven't done anything yet to become helpful. I closed my eyes, not caring to wipe the hot tears that rolled down on my cheeks.
