FINAL CHANCE!

CAMERON

I heard the phone call between Gabriel and that girl who thought she could fight with us.

"I told you that she is a total bitch! She won't listen to the sweet talks!" Kyle sprang up from the couch where he sat in anger.

But then sat after receiving a cold look from me.

"King doesn't like noise, Kyle!" I had to remind that simple thing to that fool every fucking day!

Gabriel seethed in anger. "He is right Cameron. That girl has a thick skin of a rhino! I think we should do it your way."

I smirked, knowing well that this was bound to happen. I turned my head to look at King who was staring out of the window, his hands crossed behind his back.

I waited until he gave a simple nod, and I smiled.

"Tomorrow is going to be a memorable day for you, Miss Bria Maxwell!" I grinned, ready with a plan.

The next day, our men were waiting outside her cafe in normal clothes. We were keeping a close watch on her, and the main obstacle we figured in getting at her was that old man.

He didn't let her step outside and was always very careful with his surroundings. But when I got the call that she had stepped out of her home, I knew that the stars had aligned in our favour.

I ordered our men to begin the plan while some followed her to the market. After shopping, she began to head back to her home, but my men had already executed the plan.

They caused an accident on the main road blocking the traffic. And as expected, she took another way which was quite isolated in the town with a sparse population.

I nodded my head and two men stepped down of the van and followed her. She must have sensed them as she stopped, but it was too late. They covered her face and eyes and dragged her into the van. The driver hit the gas, and we disappeared from there before anyone noticed us.

I watched her struggle to get free though her face was covered, and I liked it. That girl had given us a hard time, and now it was time for payback!

The van stopped after some time when we reached our destination. Gabriel tilted his head for the two men sitting with her on both sides to remove the cloth from her face.

She opened her eyes and looked around frantically.

"Hello, butterfly!" Gabriel smirked her way.

She didn't say anything and turned her attention from Gabriel to Kyle who sat to my right, glowering at her.

"Nice face, Piggy," she sassed, taking me by surprise.

How could someone say that as the first thing after realising that they were kidnapped?

'She is indeed different!'

"Shut up, bitch!" Kyle growled but sat back because of King's orders, or I was sure he would have at least broken her nose.

"I see the whole party of assholes present here. I am feeling very out of place now" She pouted.

"She is fiery. Hmm... interesting!"

Finally, I managed to get her complete attention. She gawked at me with an unsustainable look. I was confident just like always, but with every passing second, her brown eyes bothered me and made me conscious of myself, yet I kept a tough exterior.

What kind of a girl she was?!

And then I noticed the blush creeping on her face. I mentally groaned. How could she have such thoughts about this situation about her kidnapper?

Oh, God!

"How dare you, bastards.? How dare you kidnap me like this? And by the way, your hold is painful, you, nutcracker." She glared at the man holding her hand.

"Now, now... Woman. Watch your mouth. You will not like the idea of what five men are capable of doing in this small space with you!" I said, matching her gaze though I still couldn't recover from the intensity of her gaze on me.

"You have already met Kyle on your birthday night and Gabriel in your café. And my name is Cameron Jones."

I noticed the disappointment on her face, but before I became sure, she masked it quickly.

"So what? Just let me go!" She screamed at my face, thrashing again to set her free.

My eyes turned hard, and I clenched my jaw tightly. In a blink of an eye, I pulled her towards me, making her gasp in surprise. I grabbed her chin with one hand and a fistful of her hair in the other one. She cried out in pain when I tugged it hard.

"Get your filthy hands off of me," Bria yelled again while blinking her eyes to clear up her vision. But her yelling didn't sit well with me, and I pulled her further on my lap.

"Shut the fuck up. No one can hear your screams as this vehicle is soundproof." I hissed in her ear.

"Why are y-you d-doing this to m-me?" She croaked out.

"Your sign," I answered curtly. Kyle passed me the papers and pen.

I expected her to agree with my demand after all of that, but the girl was too stubborn. She shook her head fervently, and that only angered me more.

She was wasting my time!

"For the last time. Sign. the. damn. papers!" I emphasised every word, trying my best not to do something reckless.

But I didn't know how long I was able to refrain from myself. If things went southwards, then it would be all her fault! Because we... never go wrong!

She stared at those papers for a long minute through her misty vision. I could tell that her mind horses were running faster than time. Now the only thing I wanted to see was how far they could go.

She inhaled a shaky breath before matching my gaze. My confidence began trembling to look at the determined look in her brown orbs. And the large crack made it fall apart when she shook her head resolutely.

"As you wish!"

She left me with no other option.

One of the men holding her stepped out of the van and closed the door behind him. I tugged at her hair forcefully and turned her head to look to her right. She was so engaged in our interaction that she didn't notice where we were.

But looking at the familiar building, her eyes widened in realisation, and her face paled. I loved how the anger in her eyes was replaced by white fear as she saw my man talking to a small boy.

Jack!

I think that was what Gabriel told me his name was.

She screamed in panic, but it was as useless as putting up a fight against us... against King!

"Now, now... Look there, Fire. Do you recognise those innocent faces?"

The twins joined him when my man talked with Jack. He offered them chocolates, and though the boy was willing to accept them, the twins were smart to deny it.

"Please, let them go. You are upset with me then let's settle it between us but please leave my kids out of this. They don't have anything to do with this."

Bria Maxwell must have realised the severity of the situation as she sobbed hysterically. Little did she know that those tears didn't affect us... they never did!

"Only you can save them, Bria Maxwell. Sign the papers and we will let you and your kids go in one piece. Otherwise..." I trailed off with my threat deliberately to make it more impactful, and it worked.

"How could you? How could you use innocent kids to get to me? they are just small kids for god's sake. You guys are no human! I am sure none of you have any kid of their own or otherwise you would have thought twice before doing something like this" She spat in disgust.

I felt Gabriel tensing beside me. She shouldn't have said that!

"Don't waste my time, Fire. Just sign the damn papers. Or you will have to dig graves for your loved ones. I will-" I was cut off by the ringing of my phone.

KING

I was waiting to get the good news in my office. I checked my Jaeger LeCoultre black watch for the time being.

'They are late!'

I dialled Cameron's number, and he picked up on the third ring.

"Where is she?" I asked without wasting any time.

Because time is the most precious treasure in the world!

"She is here."

"Is she ready to sign the papers?"

"Yes, King! She will sign the papers right now." I could sense how Cameron must be gritting his teeth to intimidate her.

"No. no. please. Don't! leave them alone you, dog!" I heard the crying clearly through the speaker of the phone.

I narrowed my eyes.

"Is that her?"

"Yes, King. It's her. She is a... um... a little ball of fire."

I ignored his comment. "I want this matter to be done right now, Cameron. You have already wasted so much time on it! Put it on the speaker." I warned.

"Yes, King. I will take care of everything. Ok." he put his phone on the speaker and handed it to Kyle.

"You have two minutes exactly to sign these papers and your time starts now," I heard Cameron's commanding voice.

"Thirty seconds left," I heard a few seconds after hearing the door opening and then closing.

"Five- four- three- two-" I heard Gabriel's voice, but then he abruptly stopped after two.

And what I heard followed that was only chaos. I didn't understand what was happening.

Wait!

Was that Cameron's cry? I heard my men wailing and roaring in anger and then, I heard a shot fired.

What the fuck was happening there?

I stood up from my chair and waited for more to hear.

I heard loud shuffling sounds before another shot.

"Cameron? What the fuck is happening there? Answer me damn it!" I couldn't help but lose my cool because of the fact that it was not my men firing, but someone else was!

That girl?

How could it be possible?

I paused when I heard a hard, commanding voice.

"I will not hesitate to blow your dear Cameron's head into shreds. Don't make me do the things which only you will regret! Leave the kids."

Was that the same girl who was sobbing and begging just a few minutes ago?

Then I heard Gabriel's scream.

"Cameron? You motherfucker! Tell me what is happening there?" I yelled again, clenching the phone tightly in my hand so that it could have broken with the force I was applying to it.

"Now.. now... Camera. Do you want me to shed more blood?"

Did she just shoot Gabriel?

"Now get the fuck out of my face and never bother to come back. Give my message to your dickhead King. Go. To. Hell!"

What the FUCK did she just say?

I stood trembling in fury as I heard them.

After five minutes, I finally heard his voice.

"King..."

"Come back!" And I cut the call.
