The Top Player Is A Commoner: A Gamer's POV

[You have received a new class] [Commoners class attained] "What!?" During the launch of an ultimate virtual reality game, an unexpected tradegy occurred. An explosion of highly concentrated energy intertwined with the Synaptic Interface of Rytec industries, the company responsible for the creation of the ultimate VRMMORPG. The burst of highly densed energy completely changed the fate of humanity transporting 70% of mankind into another world after shattering through the dimensional barrier. However they were those amongst them who died in the process. Reincarnated into that world with several of his classmates by a goddess for the purpose of saving humanity, Zedric acquired the lowest class of them all and as a result was granted a system which gave him the ability to control the shadows of all things dead or alive. Thus he became the Shadow Necromancer, he who is one with the shadows.

Pending Doom

Several minutes had passed since the official launch and complete release of the Nexus Origins, most gamers around the world had already logged in. It was more plausible to say that 70% of humanity had connected their minds to the Synaptic Interface.

The remaining 30% comprised of those who didn't have enough resources to acquire the game and those who lacked interest in it, in the year 2034 technology had advanced more than one could possibly imagine. The need for fuel, kerosene and diesel had come to an end. Scientists harnessed the power of a new sub-element referred to as Platinum Xto create a new and clean source of energy.

Therefore with the high rate of tech advancement, even the poorest countries of all possessed considerable technology in comparison to that of the past.

Zedric refused to begin the game without his friends as they had all plan to move together, unlike Battle Warfare which these three boys were highly immersed in before; Nexus Origins was a RPG roleplaying game which involved the players finding hidden clues, completing quests and clearing dungeons in order to level up.

A total of 30 minutes had passed and Zedric stumbled across one of his friends, Zach. Finding him didn't prove to be an issue because much like Zedric, Zach created his character based off his human counterpart.

Zedric laughed. "Imagine, oh my goodness." He mocked the character Zach had created. It looked very much like him but was more muscular than the original Zach who was slim in nature. Zedric had never imagined him with muscles as he regarded such imaginations as disgusting.

"Look who's talking." Zach replied.

Zedric's human body was far shorter than that of his virtual self. He was 6ft tall and he created his virtual self to be 6ft 6 inches tall.

"Yeah yeah whatever, have you seen Anthony?" Zedric switched topics.

"No not really, honestly I thought he'd be the first person I'd run into given I was with him in his room when we both connected to the Synaptic Interface." Zach replied, a look of concern came upon his face. Anthony was his twin brother although they shared no similar resemblance so it was only fitting for Zach to be worried the way he was.

"Isn't that Anthony?" Zedric asked, pointing towards the direction of two individuals who were walking together.

"How can you be so sure?" Zach straining his eyes to confirm if it really was him asked.

"He's the only person on this earth that walks like that." Zedric replied trying to control himself from letting out an outburst of laughter. Anthony had an habit of bouncing from side to side when he walked which caused Zach and Zedric and many other guys from school to make fun of him.

"Finally found you two, guess who I found?" Anthony exclaimed as he approached them.

"Hey guys!" A feminine voice proclaimed.

"Siji!?" Zedric's reaction signified disbelief, Siji was a classmate of theirs. She was the most popular girl in school and a very charming one at that, she had an alluring blue crystal clear eyes that trapped anyone who dared to look at them. Blonde hair and a nicely curved hips which gave shape to her bubble butt.

"Oh it's you." Zach said plainly.

"Oh come on, you can at least pretend to be more excited to see me." Siji replied giggling. To her it was a normal behavior for Zach, Zach was regarded as one of the most smartest kid in their class and one of the most handsome at that. He was popular with most girls in school and even grabbed the attention of Siji.

"We both know that's not going to happen." Zach replied taking away his sights from her and at his brother wondering what on virtual earth could have made him stumble into her.

Siji giggled, it was then she caught a glimpse of Zedric who smiled at her. "Umm hi?" She said awkwardly.

"Oh hey." Zedric responded trying to hide the fact that he was nervous, after all it she had been his crush since preschool.

"I don't think we've met, I'm Siji." She said.

Zedric was dumbfounded, Siji has been his classmates for nearly five years now and not even for once had she noticed his presence. This left a scar in his heart.

"We've been classmates for five years, you can't possibly tell me you don't remember me!." Zedric with a pained voice which he attempted to hide said.

"I'm Zedric..." He added.

"Oh! Your that minor that tried winning the Gale's first spelling bee last year, who ever thought I'd run into you here. Honestly I'm even surprised you could even afford this game." Siji said plainly not even minding how her words would affect others, a trait she grew up with and never took into consideration. After all she was too popular to care about that.

"We should go, we've already wasted enough time chatting while other players have gone ahead of us." Zach interrupted with a stern voice to prevent Siji from insulting him any further.

Zedric stood on the spot flabbergasted, his heart fell to pieces as he listened to the girl she admired all this years hand his ass over to him on a silver platter. The rest of them went on to start the game fully while Zedric stood there on the spot completely lost in thought.

"You coming?" Zach questioned as he turned to face Zedric.

"Yeah.." Zedric responded with a faint voice.

Back in the real world, the environment had gone mute. It was not as noisy as it usually was till the release of the server. More than half of humanity was now connected to the Synaptic Interface.

Back at Rytec Industries, Dr Ishigaki Tenjiro stared out of his office window and looked down at the city. Rytec industries headquarters was a skyscraper almost forty meters tall and became the tallest building in the city.

Tenjiro had a huge smile on his face as he watched his life long dream being actualized. "Beautiful a feeling isn't it?" His secretary asked as she entered into his office with some documents.

"You can't imagine." He responded wiping the tear that came to his eye.

"Tonight, Rytec Industries has achieved it's biggest goals. The birth of Nexus Origins, the birth of the Synaptic Interface. There is no greater accomplishment than this my dear. Tonight...we celebrate!." Dr Ishigaki Tenjiro exclaimed, sliding open out his drawer and bringing out a set of wine glass and an expensive champagne.

After popping it open and pouring it's content into two glas cups, he passed one to his secretary and raised his in the air. "Cheers to our success." He said.

"Cheers." His secretary responded with a smile on her face and both of them drank from the glass.

However their celebration was cut short as a large alarm resonated throughout the building and red lights followed up blinking at every corner of the building.

"ALERT....ALERT....ALERT.." The artificial intelligence created by Rytec industries proclaimed out loud.
