Chapter 11:If he wants war

I felt so humiliated that he asked me to leave his office after all I said. Today was one of the worst days of my life on earth.

First, the mix up and delay between the Williams corporation and Adams Enterprise, then I had to meet Olivia the arrogant spoiled brat who added fuel to my fire, then Logan Adams talked about my age in public like it's nothing.

The only good thing here was that Henry was selected to work here too, so the bad things outweighed the good ones.

'If he wants war, that's what I will give him' I said in my head

'Who do you intend giving war to?' Henry asked me

'You heard that?' I asked him

'Yeah, you were so loud' he chuckled

'You saw what Logan did to me today, I swear he hates me' I said

'And that Olivia girl too' I added

'I know, just calm down' he told me

'Things will get right, we didn't even think he was going to let you work here but he did. So calm down and don't cause any trouble for yourself' he said

'I can do that' I told him

'Good' he smiled.

'Why do you think you can go to war with Sir Adams in his own company?. He owns this place' he asked me, causing me to laugh.

'I don't know what I was thinking Henry. I said that out of anger cause he pressed my wrong buttons' I said

'Be calm, you have to be very polite in this building. You don't want him giving the school poor remarks about your work here' he kindly warned me

'I'll try to be good' I smiled

Lunch break came to an end so we headed back inside.

'Hey guys I need your attention here' Logan's PA whose name we got as Kevin said to us.

'Here, have these. A run down of your program here' he said to us while handing some papers to us.

'Everyone here can read' he chuckled

'So I'll move on to discuss the most important things on the papers you all are holding' he added.

'Taking part in board meetings is optional, but…' he said and scrunched his face

'You'll be standing when attending them' he said

'That's not a problem, we are young' Henry said and other students laughed.

'Good, there's always a party at the end of your time here. You are expected to dress to impress' he chuckled again after his last statement.

'Never be afraid to give opinions if an important project is going on while you're here, we need those creative minds here' he said and we listened attentively.

'Sir Adams asked me to inform you guys, that his office is a no go ground for you all except the matter is of great concern, but you'll still have to pass through me and if I'm not here, you must wait' he said and I don't know why I felt like that message was directed to me in particular.

'God!, this man is so annoying' I said but Henry bummed his shoulder against mine.

'Stop that, you'll get into trouble' I just sighed.

'Hope I made myself clear' he asked after he finished talking and we answered him.

'Now let's move so I finish giving you a tour of the company' he said. He had started giving us a tour guide before the lunch break, so I guess we are continuing.

'Hey, when are you leaving work?' Sophia sent a text.

'6pm' I replied

'I'll be there to pick you up from your first day' she sent another text along side a laughing emoji causing me to laugh.

'Why would you do that, I hope you don't want to ask for anything in return' I asked her

'You are so mean to your best friend. I need a favour though' she said

'I was right all along' I laughed

'I don't need a ride, I'm fine' I sent a reply

'Come on best I'm your best friend' she sent again

'I don't need a reminder. Fine you can come, I could use some music on my way home' I sent

She sent a happy emoji.

Time flew fast, it was closing time in a heartbeat and Sophia was already outside waiting for me.

'How was your first day' she asked me when I got into the car.

'Not bad' I lied because my first day was terrible.

'Did you see Logan?' she asked me and I groaned in frustration

'Yes, it's his company' I answered

She smiled.

'So what do you want?' I asked her and she smiled.

'My mum set up one of those blind dates for me' she said

'So…..?' I asked because I didn't get the point.

'I don't want to attend' she said

'No, no, why are you telling me then, are you suggesting I feel in for you?' I asked her

'Yes besty' I she answered.

'It's not even possible. She probably set you up with someone of your age and I'm older, everything will go wrong' I said

'Exactly. Everything should go wrong, he will see that you are older and lose interest' she said

'You have crazy ideas' I laughed

'What if he calls your mum?' I asked her

'Most often, the guys aren't interested in me either, they are forced by their parents too so I don't think he'll do that' she assured me.

'Oh is that so?' I managed to say

'Yes, so are you in?' Sophia asked me

'Just a quick question, where will u be when I'm attending a blind date on your behalf' I asked her

'I have a date planned as well, only that this one isn't a blind date and it wasn't planned by mother' she told me

'Girl, you are something else' I said

'What time is this blind date?' I asked

'Time is 8:30' she said

'I was supposed to be resting after a long day, so you owe me' I told her

'Yes sure' she said then my phone buzzed.

'That's me, I just sent you every detail you need about the date' she said just as we pulled up in front of my house.

We said our goodbyes before Sophia left my house premises.

Logan

'Renzo' I called when I answered the phone

'Where are you' he asked me

'I'm still at work, is everything okay?' I asked him

'Not really, I'm coming over to meet you, I need to talk to you about something' he said

'Okay I'll be waiting' I told him.

I wondered what it was that he wanted to talk to me about.

Few minutes later there was a knock on my door, before I could ask him to come in, he pushed the door open and got in.

'Is someone chasing you, why you breathing so much' I asked him.

'Mum' he said

I panicked and stood up 'what happened to mum?' I asked

'Relax, sit down. She's fine' he gestured with his hands for me to sit.

'What happened?' I asked

'She just arranged one of those her blind dates for me Logan' I heard him say and couldn't stop laughing

'This is not funny' he said

'I know, but she's your mother, I said

'Let me guess, you told her you didn't want to go and she promised to get sick if you don't show up for the date' I added

'Yes same old story, but I can't but fear that she might actually get sick' Lorenzo said

'She's always doing this, you should get used to by now' I said

'I'm used to it so I always attend ans give her excuses as to why I don't like the girl' he said

'How many friends does mum have?' I asked my brother

'I don't know, why?' He asked me

'Son, she's the daughter of my very good friend she's a nice girl' I mimicked the way my mum always talked and my brother and I started to laugh

'And she says that every time' he added

'Just go like you have always done, I have had my own fair share of the dates, thank God she's not disturbing me anymore' I said

'You see Logan that's the problem, I can't attend the dinner date of tonight and I don't want to break mother's heart' he said

'So what are you going to do about it?' I asked him and he winked at me

'What are you doing that for, stop winking at me' I said but he didn't stop

'You want me to go in your place, no way I'm doing that. Get away from me' I scolded

'Come on, Logan. I'm the only brother you have' he said

'I have a cousin brother' I said back almost immediately

'That's different and it doesn't count' he said

'I'm not helping you so leave' I told him

'Mum will call the lady after the date, please Logan. I have a date with my new girl, I don't want to miss it' he said

'Lorenzo stop pushing it, I'm not doing that stuff for you, I'm a very busy man I don't have the time' I said

'It's at 8:30' he said

Then an idea just popped up in my head.

'I'll do it' I said

'Yes' he clapped his hands

'There's a condition' I said and his mood turned sour

'What is the condition' he asked me

'You'll come to work' I said

'Wait what!, no way. I have a job' he said

'Pls remind me' I said

'I am a workout coach Logan, you know that' he said with pride

'Whatever, I'll go for the blind date today if you come and workin the company for a month' I stated

'Logan don't do this' he begged

'It's either that or no deal' I said with a firm conviction

'Two weeks, I will work for two weeks not one month' he said

'Deal' I said and stretched my hand for a handshake but he declined and I just smiled.

'This is everything you need to know about the date, location, time, and all. Pls dress nice and don't forget to get flowers for the lady on your way there' he said and left.
