Educating the Twins

At the same time before the crazy things were happening on the ground, John was shadowing Arkham who arrived at the top and opened the gate to the Demon World.

"You think stealing someone's power will make you stronger?" says John as he walked towards Arkham.

Arkham turned around scared because he wasn't strong enough to face John who was approaching slowly.

"I was so near to my goal to become a God," says Arkham as John smiles at him.

"Go ahead and take that power. You will see that there are beings that even Gods fear mortals because of their potential," says John not stopping Arkham as he wasn't there to stop him but to train the twins.

They soon after followed as Vergil was the first to arrive seeing John stopping him from passing him to follow Arkham.

"Are you his ally? Is that why you attacked me before?" asks Vergil as John shakes his head.

"No, like said before I am here to teach you two a lesson. But since Dante isn't around let me start with you, Vergil," says John as he took out his Devilsword.

"For what are you fighting for?" asks John as he rushes at Vergil as they clash together.

John was using almost no strength but pushed Vergil back waiting for Vergil to answer his question.

"I need power to get my revenge and if I have to become a complete demon, I will do it," says Vergil as he rushed at John while unsheathing Yamato.

John blocked Vergil's attack as he looks at him disappointed while saying, "You think your father defeated Mundus and sealed the Gate to the Demon World using his demonic power. He didn't use his demonic power to do all that his strength came from somewhere else."

"Says the demon that used his power to defeat his nephews and almost killed one of them," says Vergil as John smiled at him.

"I didn't kill him, I awakened his birthright. You and your brother still don't even know what your swords can do," says John as he looked at Vergil who activated his DT and kept attacking John who blocked his attacks easily.

"You are looking for strength that is already yours, but you just can't see it," says John as he changed his Devilsword to Yamato and he swung it at Vergil who barely blocked it and moved for a few meters before deactivating his DT.

"You have someone that you want to protect that's why you want to obtain this power so you don't lose her like you lost your mother," says John as Vergil's eyes turned red.

"Shut up," says Vergil as he rushed even faster at John who blocked easily Vergil's attacks again.

Vergil and John were interlocked at the moment when Vergil says, "You don't know anything. She saved Dante and not me. How would you feel when your mother left you to die?"

"You sure she left you to die?" asks John as he pushed him away.

"Your mother might have saved Dante first but she went out to search for you when demons found her," says John with confidence in his words.

"Where you there?" asks Vergil as John shakes his head.

"No, but I heard stories of what the demons did to your mother before they killed her by sacrificing her to Mundus," says John as he looked at Vergil bluffing his way in.

"And now you are trying to walk the same way the demons that killed your mother were walking on," says John as he looked at Vergil seriously while going in position to attack when he says, "I want to gamble with you."

"What are we betting?" asks Vergil as he looked at John curiously.

"If I win, you will return to the woman you want to protect and raise your child that is coming," says John as Vergil looked at John suspiciously.

"And if I win?" asks Vergil as John sighs.

"I won't be in your way ever again. I tried my best to bring you to the right path that your father wanted for the both of you," says John as Vergil enters his DT and was ready when John smiles at him.

"We have a deal," says Vergil as he was ready to fight John again.

John, on the other hand, relaxed his stance and sheathed his Yamato confusing Vergil who thought that Vincent wanted to trick him when John says, "I never said we would fight against each in this bet."

John summoned two chairs with a table and a game of chess and John sits down as he invites Vergil to take a seat across him once Vergil sat down John created a barrier that slowed time outside while they began to play chess.

John thought it would be unfair to fight against Vergil since he was far too powerful to have a fair fight. Chess just needed an actual brain and both have one.

Vergil got white as they started to play. John has played enough chess games in his life making it difficult for Vergil who had a difficult time as John sacrifices pieces to get Vergil's pieces setting up a giant trap.

Vergil was like a fly that got stuck in a spider web only waiting for the spider to arrive as John's pieces were surrounding his King making the spider bite the fly while John says, "Checkmate. You have lost the game. Once this is over you shall return to that woman and be a father like your father wanted to be for you and Dante."

"What about the strength to defend them?" asks Vergil as John placed his finger on Vergil's chest.

"All the strength you want is right there. You just need to let it out at the right time. But once the moment comes you will feel your heart burn as if you are in a rage but it is only your real power awakening because you will be angry at yourself. After all, you think you aren't able to protect them that will be your strength as you will try harder. Your silly rivalry between you brothers won't make either of you two stronger," says John as he stands up and the table disappears.

"If you break your promise I will find you even if I have to pass through the Gate to the Demon World. I will drag you out of there and reform you since your son will need you," says John as he looked at Vergil seriously.

"What do you mean?" asks Vergil as John looked at the Gate to the Demon World.

"What do you think will happen to that child if he can't control his powers. He will be isolated and be bullied or worse, he gets killed or experimented on," says John as he turned to Vergil.

"I raised all of my children except for one that was taken from me by my Ancestor. They all turned out well, your father wanted to be there for you and your brother, but he couldn't because he was afraid that demons would go after you all. But in the end what he wanted to prevent happened. The worst is that his body is in the Demon World waiting for his soul to return," says John as he turned towards the Gate to the Demon World again.

"His Soul?" asks Vergil as John nods.

"It is inside me. I need to go into the Demon World and get him out of there that's why I let Arkham pass me because I will be able to go into the Demon World and get him out of there," says John as he removed the barrier knowing that someone was about to arrive.

Dante now reached the top finding John standing beside Vergil when he rushes at John while pointing Rebellion at him. John uses his hand and the tip of his sword was between John's index and middle fingers.

"But you should go first. Now I need to educate your brother," says John as he looked at Vergil who nods and leaves by jumping into the sky entering the Nexus between both worlds.

"You damn bastard wanted to kill me!" shouts Dante as it looked like that in his eyes.

"What I did was awaken your birthright," says John as Dante tried to pull his sword back but he couldn't, making John smile.

"You at least were a better son to Sparda as Vergil. But Vergil had his reason to gain Sparda's power but you don't care at all about this world. That's why you would be the greatest disappointment of the two of you," says John as he looked at Dante who seemed angry.

"Shut your mouth," says Dante as John continued.

"What would your mother say if she could see you now. The son she saved doesn't care about this world and sees everything as a joke. She would come out of her grave and haunt you if she had one," says John as he pulled Dante closer and punched him in the abdomen, making him lose grip of Rebellion.

"Do you know why Sparda look left you Rebellion, while Vergil got Yamato?" asks John knowing the answer as Dante was wrestling for air.

"He might know but we won't ever find out," says Dante not caring at all.

"Yamato can split anything apart even a halfling like us, while Rebellion is a special sword as well. It awakens the hidden potential of the one stabbed by it intentionally as I did to you before. If you had the Devilsword Sparda you could awaken your true DT as I did," says John as he was holding Rebellion.

"Yamato is the key to the Demon World and Rebellion is the key to become a Demon. But not all Demons are evil it is up to them. They decide if they are good or evil and Rebellion represents exactly that. The person that rebels against his own nature to become someone better," says John as he hands the sword back to Dante.

"You should dedicate your life to defend humanity and demons from those that want to destroy them as your father did before you. Find yourself a woman as your brother did and have a child or two. Live your life to the fullest because your rivalry will only bring pain to you and your brother. Even worse many people will be the collateral damage of it and I can't let that happen," says John looking serious at Dante as his killing intent was showing.

"I would rather kill the sons of my friend before they kill millions of innocent people because of their rivalry," says John scaring Dante who was nervously holding Rebellion.

"So don't disappoint me and you will soon meet your father again," says John as he didn't need to fight Dante as he fought Vergil.

"You should help your brother also don't kill Arkham. He should die by someone's else hand," says John as he made way for Dante.

"After all this is done tell my family that I needed to do something in the Demon World. My wife will be pissed and try to kill you half-heartedly out of anger but you should survive," says John as he had the feeling that it will be a long journey to get Sparda out of the prison they have in the Demon World.

"I will try my best but can I date your date?" asks Dante as John began to laugh quite hard.

"You will lose your hanging friend by doing so and it won't be me to do that," says John as he knew that Nora would do that if Dante tried something funny on her.
