The ‘Testing & Practice Arena’

The Vice-Principal spoke to the class in a firm voice, "Children, come with me. I will take you to a very important place."

His voice right now wasn't emitting a terrifying aura, but it was giving out a domineering presence of authority, making all the students obediently follow him.

In the whole group of students, a lot of them were moaning and groaning, ads if they were being taken to a place worse than Hell, a lot of the others were getting really, really excited, as if they were being taken to a place better than Heaven. The others were just normally walking, with an average expression of neither boredom, nor excitement on their faces.

Tao Xue didn't know about this place, and therefore, wanted to ask someone about it. Both of his friends were following the Vice-Principal, walking with a weird expression. It turned out that they were still afraid of him. With that, Tao Xue understood that there was no need to ask those fool s anything, because they won't reply, no matter what.

Right now, Tao Xue was a little bit confused about what to do. He felt like asking the Vice-Principal where he was taking them, but after seeing his attitude and overwhelming strength, he didn't feel like talking to the Vice-Principal. It wasn't that he was scared of him, it was just that he felt Vice-Principal Huan to be a suspicious man.

After a short while of thinking, he had finally made his decision. According to him, it was better to take his chances with the old man, rather than remaining in the dark for the whole journey. He then pushed his way through the crowd of students, from the back to the front. Both Ju Yuan and Ling Shen were too curious about what Tao Xue was going to do, so they also tagged along, with no othere reason than pure curiosity.

After reaching the front of the crowd, Tao Xue was a little astonished. The back figure of Vice-Principal Huan gave off a majestic aura. After a moment's hesitation, he increased his speed and started walking parallel to the Vice-Principal.

He looked the Vice-Principal in the face, and said, "Vice-Principal Huan, what is this 'Testing & Practice Arena' where you are taking us? I don't know about it, so please give me some information."

After listening to these words, Vice-Principal Huan was utterly shocked. He had previously noticed in the class, that Tao Xue was one of the students who didn't freeze stiff after he had suddenly appeared. According to him, these few unafraid students, especially Tao Xue were good candidates to be future leaders. These children hadn't done anything wrong, so they didn't need to be frightened. They had a very important quality that would help them on the road of Cultivation, self-confidence. The others were just frightened even though they didn't do anything wrong, was only a sign of them lacking self-confidence, which would eventually lead them towards their demise. Tao Xue especially, had taken a spot of a brave and a very important student, because he actually had the guts to go up and speak with him personally, and the most interesting part is, he showed no fear towards the Vice-Principal, rather, he showed suspicion. That was another important quality that a leader should have. His respect for Tao Xue had greatly risen.

To Tao Xue's question, he calmly replied, "You will soon reach the 'Testing & Practice Arena' in a short amount of time, you can see for yourself what it is after you reach the place."

Tao Xue was impressed with the Vice-Principal. According to him, the kind of people who don't reveal everything when asked, are cool. This in turn, raised the level of respect for the Vice-Principal in Tao Xue's mind, just as Tao Xue had earned a position of respect in the Vice-Principal's mind.

Just as Tao Xue got back to his original place, Ju Yuan and Ling Shen were following him with faces as if they had attained enlightenment. Tao Xue was a little surprised by the sudden change of mood in these two dupes, and felt a little strange. It was pretty obvious for him to feel strange, because firstly, these two were frozen stiff in a puddle of cold sweat in the class, then they were in a dark and gloomy mood, and now, they act as if they had gotten enlightenment. Such joy and happiness on their faces made the average mood of the crowd of students a little lighter.

Tao Xue asked Ju Yuan and Ling Shen, "Hey, what happened to you guys all of a sudden. Why are you in such a happy mood? I would rather prefer you fools to be frozen stiff than to act in such a weird manner."

To this, Ju Yuan replied, "We tagged along with you because we thought you would get a beating, and that was something the both of us would love to see, but astonishingly, the Vice-Principal didn't give you a beating, rather, he simply spoke like a normal person. Thus, we have no fear of him in our hearts and therefore, we're happy."

"Now that we know that he's just an average old man, I've got an idea… Look here!" said Ling Shen, as he pulled out a needle and a tiny little bottle filled with a weird liquid, "He made us terrified at the class, so he obviously has to pay for it!"

He opened the bottle and dipped the needle in it.

After seeing the liquid, Ju Yuan said, "Hey, isn't that your famous itch powder in its liquid state?"

"You guessed it!" was Ling Shen's reply, as he revealed a sinister laughter.

Just then, suddenly, a figure appeared before Ling Shen, startling him. After looking at the person, he was shocked. It was the Vice-Principal! Ling Shen was utterly shocked. How could the Vice-Principal know that he had the needle and the itch liquid? Other than that, how could he instantly appear 10 feet behind his previous location? This made him wonder if the Vice-Principal could warp.

Vice-Principal Huan said, "Weapons are not allowed for you right now. I'll be taking these items with me for the time being. When it will be the time for you to leave, I'll return them to you."

Just as he said this, the Vice-Principal and both the priceless treasures of Ling Shen were instantly gone, and the Vice-Principal appeared at his original place again.

Tao Xue laughed inwardly and thought, "Man, that old fart sure is strong!"
