“Yes, at the local college, but I also do freelance teaching at the many of the business schools in the area. English as a Second Language is my main bread and butter now.”
“What’s the first language?” Christopher asked.
“Usually Mandarin or Hindi, but there are all kinds of languages and dialects now I’m getting used to. I like it. Very good work.”
“And how is your personal life?” Hazel asked. “You still seeing that woman? What’s her name…Willow? No, Wanda?”
“No.” Rowan shifted. Hands were put on the table and then taken off as if it was a trial box. “She wasn’t my girlfriend.”
“Oh. I could have sworn you two were together the last time I saw you,” Hazel said. “Maybe she likes you, then.”
