At that moment that it changed direction, the stream of bubbles hit the chunky Starly. Its wings got wet, so it fell onto the ground helplessly.

"You need to weaken it first, Dawn. Battle it." Rogue reminded his girl. He almost fell over when he saw her bring out the empty Pokeball. 

"Oh right! Hehe. Squirtle, go up." Dawn wiped away her embarrassed face and commanded Squirtle to fight. 

"Do you need my help? Water types are weak against grass types." Rogue offered. He was concerned that Dawn's new Pokemon might fail. It's still in its first stage of evolution, and it also has a type disadvantage. 

Squirtle could really die if Dawn makes it fight Roselia head on. Though, Rogue didn't mind if that happens. He'll just eat some blue turtle soup if it dies.  

"Yeah, help me." Dawn accepted the help. She wasn't a fool. She knew how weak her Squirtle is with all the disadvantages. 

"Alright. Fennekin, go up too." 

Roselia was angry. The two humans and their companions killed its chunky bird friend, and it wanted revenge. It wasn't going to back down with the fight.  

"Roseliaa!"  

The green little shit made a 360 degree turn and it shot razor leaves out of its flowers, shooting them towards Squirtle and Fennekin. 

"Fennekin, use ember to burn the leaves. After that, follow up with a tackle!" Rogue waved his hands exaggeratedly and came up with the optimal plan. 

"Fennekinnn!" The yellow reddish pokemon shot out some embers to counter the leaves. 

Once the razor leaves met the embers, they burned into a crisp. Though, it wasn't burnt instantly. They turned into little flame balls and fell onto the ground, losing their momentum. 

Fennikien then ran in with its four legs, aiming for the little green woman. 

Roselia was a little stunned that its razor leaf was countered so easily. It had never fought a fire type Pokemon before. 

But since the razor leaf didn't work, it aimed its two flowers and began its next attack: Sludge Bomb!! 

Piukk! 

A purple sludge came out of its blue flower and it flew directly at Fennekin! 

Fennekin was a little shocked, but the sludge was also countered… by the bubbles of Squirtle! Its water contents mixed up with the sludge, and the poisonous sludge fell onto the ground. The sludge bomb became as useless as the razor leaf against ember.

Fifteen minutes after Rogue and Dawn left their temporary campsite, a shadow could be seen in the sky.

"Where did that Lopunny go?" A red haired man flew down the river on his Charizard and his eyes squinted.

He had captured three other Pokemon who had mutated to look like a human, but there was a mutated Lopunny that escaped into the water.

He wanted to find and capture it so that he could bring it back to the God Society for the scientists to study. These strange mutations seem to have appeared after a scattered meteor crashed onto the land.

"A campsite?" The red haired man tapped on Charizard after spotting the clearing, and the orange thing flew down.

Rogue ran non stop with Dawn for almost three quarters of an hour, using the forest as their cover. Squirtle and Fennekin had already been returned to their respective Pokeballs.

"Rogue, let's stop there and rest. Running senselessly won't get us anywhere." Dawn suggested.

"Alright." Rogue agreed and headed to the forest cave with Dawn, believing that it should be safe now after running for a whole hour.

As they entered the forest cave, they saw that there is a flat area of about three meters by three meters. All the way at the back of the forest cave is a deep dark pit, leading to who knows where.

"Pheww~" Rogue relaxed as he rested his back onto the wall after sitting down on the flat area. He took his backpack off to feel more comfortable.

"That was exhausting." Dawn rubbed her sore calves. She caught her breath while massaging her leg muscles. She also took off her backpack and placed it on the ground.

"Yeah, it sure was." Rogue fanned himself with his damp jacket.

"How are you feeling, Rogue?" Dawn sat down and scooted over to embrace Rogue's arm.

"HOU!!"

Before Dawn could grab her Pokeball, a mean looking Houndoom jumped in front of the cave entrance and growled.

"Shit." Rogue cursed after seeing the Houndoom. He knew for sure that it's going to be a hard battle with their current team. Fighting against something like a Houndoom at the moment is like fighting a Boss level monster while being a lvl 1 newbie.

Both he and Dawn might get wounded or even killed by the Houndoom. This isn't the kiddie anime where trainers can't die.

Contrary to his expectations, though, the Houndoom did not attack. Instead, it stayed at the entrance, just growling.

Thump!!

A large and orange Charizard landed in front of the cave after a minute of the standoff.

"You people finally stopped… not like you'll get away or anything." A man jumped down from the Charizard. He has a head full of red hair. His clothes are also refined like a noble's. His eyes were cold… like how someone will look at peasants of society.

He walked up behind the Houndoom and adjusted his white glove.

"Who are you? And what do you want from us?" Rogue asked cautiously. He didn't want to fight this person. Even if he did, he won't win. The Pokemons on his side are no joke.

"I am Crimson… from the God Society." Crimson's cold eyes looked at the Pokeballs in the hands of the two young people.

"Bring out all of your Pokeballs and hand them over… NOW!" Crimson commanded with a voice fully of authority.

Houndoom growled fiercely with its master's fiery temper.

The large Charizard also huffed some flames out of its mouth to show that it's ready to attack at any time.

"Will you let us go if we give you our Pokemons?" Rogue asked. Given the current situation, he's fully prepared to give up his and Dawn's Pokemon to save their lives.

"Did I give you permission to keep asking questions?"

As Crimson said this, Houndoom gathered fire in its mouth. At any given moment, it can blast out a damaging flame.

Rogue turned to Dawn. She is clearly shaken by the whole ordeal. Her body was frozen like a stone, unable to move even a little bit.

"Dawn, let's give him all of our Pokeballs." Rogue said as he gathered all of the Pokeballs from his Pokebelt.

Dawn came back to reality after hearing Rogue. She shakily shoved her hand into her skirt pocket and brought out all of her Pokeballs, even the ones that had yet to be used.

"Toss them over," Crimson said while still having that overbearing look on his face.

Dawn and Rogue both threw our Pokeballs over to Crimson's foot.

"Now… die!" Crimson bent down and picked up the Pokeballs to check them one by one. He wanted to see if the mutated Lopunny is in any of these Pokeballs. If it isn't, then it means that he was tracking the wrong people, and he's going to have to follow the river again to see if he can find it.

As for his Charizard and Houndoom, they both shot out their flamethrowers to obliterate the two young trainers.

He could hear the sound of the splattering water flowing down from above. He can also hear the occasional booming of thunder. It's obvious that there's a storm outside, and water is flowing into the pit that they're trapped in.

"I'm… awake." Rogue mustered his energy to speak.

"I… I feel like I'm not going to be able to hold on, Rogue." Tears welled down Dawn's eyes as she gripped Rogue's pants through the darkness. She had been hanging on for dear life all this time. No matter what plan she thought of, she couldn't think of a way to climb the pit.

Right now, she's extremely cold, and her energy is waning… The only reason she held on is to spend her last moments with Rogue.

Rogue grabbed the air with his other hand and accessed the System inventory.

A Pokeball appeared on Rogue's hand, and he enlarged it to its full size. He clicked on the button, and a flash of light briefly appeared before dying out again.

"Was that… the Lopunny?!" Dawn was a little surprised. If she recalls correctly, Rogue had thrown all six of his Pokeballs to the Crimson person. She wondered where the seventh ball came from.

"Yes." Rogue answered.

Lopunny was summoned. The upper half of its body laid on Rogue's lap while the lower half dipped itself in water. Like how they are, the Lopunny couldn't even move. It's already at the end of its life.

"It's still hopeless, Rogue… Lopunny is going to die soon." While one of Dawn's hands held onto Rogue's hand, she reached the other out to feel Lopunny's condition. She found out that it's heartbeat is extremely faint.

"We'll see!" Rogue said as he made Dawn hold onto his pants again.

He lifted up Lopunny with his remaining strength and brought her out of the water. Its legs went on his sides, and its rabbit pussy aligned with his crotch. The head of Lopunny slept on his shoulder.
