Synopsis With the wake of a serial killer that seems untraceable, Bryan Derrick—a detective with a high success rate—is sent to help out in the case but things quickly spiral as he is entangled in many life threatening events as he tries to uncover the secret of the 'smiling psychopath'. He soon discovers a plot in this new city and discovers that it is made by his arch enemy. he soon realises that his past has followed him to this new city. He makes new friends and helps then solve their problems by investigating for them and also goes on a journey to accept his dark past but one thing eludes him: the mystery of the serial killer! This is the adventures of detective Bryan Derrick! Saviour Ibok is a Nigerian writer of science fiction and fantasy. He has written many titles including Haklaran Hunter trilogy, Elixir of Love and The Last Soldiers.

"Cover your nose, don't breath in the smoke." Rob warned. He took out his gun and cocked it and also put on his sun glasses. He would do everything possible to make sure that Anna was safe.

"Stand behind me." He said in a hushed tone. Bryan coughed a bit and his vision began to blur but he pulled himself together and stood behind Rob like a statue.

After almost five minutes the door was kicked open and several men rushed in and opened fire. Rob had quickly pulled Anna and Bryan behind the large table that he had overturned earlier and most of the bullets hit the table, tearing away the wood.

The smoke made it a bit difficult for anyone to see clearly but not Rob, his sun glasses filtered out the smoke and he could see clearly that there were at least 8 men in the room. He jumped out immediately the first round of assault ended and pressed the button on his sun glasses.
