Aiden's (Mis)Fortune?

Dan's army finally reached their destination and joined with Victor's much larger army. Victor welcomed them warmly and they rested for a night with drink and meat. Victor was happy about this turn of events because Dan's team was an elite one. Many awakened were in his army and this was a very powerful trump card itself.

"You know, maybe after this war, you will be a count or baron. You will have your fiefdom and maybe a noblewoman by your side. You are handsome so I guess it will not be a problem for you to find a fair lady." Victor said while drinking his wine.

Dan smiled and said nothing. 'I don't know. In my current situation, this idea is not realistic. If I was the same person before the awakening then it would be indeed appealing but back then I wasn't awakened. Is this the so-called 'Price of power'?' he thought.

"With the crown prince leading us, we might become a quiet powerhouse in the years to come. Who knows maybe one day you rule over vast arcs of lands and have numerous children." Victor chattered, obviously starting to get drunk.

'Children, ha? Rora told the chance of me conceiving her is quite low, as for the others…' his face became a bit red. He gulped another mouthful of wine and looked at the starry sky.

"Who is the strongest person you ever meet?" Dan asked him.

Victor looked a bit surprised but his face became solemn as he looked at the dark hair young man and then looked at the sky like him.

"When I was young I was chosen to lead a team to kill someone." He continued "he was a beast in the literal sense. As he killed he grew stronger, we were lucky to bring him down."

He said with a bit of melancholy.

"How did you kill him?" Dan asked nonchalantly but his heart was beating fast.

Victor, oblivious to his inner turmoil, said, "I said we were lucky because he foolishly start his massacre in a big city. He had a strange ability he was a weak boy in the slums. They who knew him, and remained alive, told us that he changed his attitude abruptly. I guess it had to do with his ability, sigh, he killed many, and as I said his ability allowed him to grow stronger. The lives of many were sacrificed on that day." His eyes looked a bit distant.

'So we are not alone. Of course I considered this before, after all, there are two of us so why not three? This man's ability probably was something like my meditation technique. But it allowed him to grow through killing things….' Dan thought as a shiver ran through his spine.

Dan didn't think his ability was best out there but he believed it was better than many. Regarding his increase in power, he did nothing, except watch.

'Rora is doing most of the job. As her "Guardian", I must ensure her well-being and safety…' he felt more resolved than before.

Dan felt sending Aiden was a good call and felt a little assured. Although from the frequent surge in his power, he could tell that she was safe he felt he had done something necessary.

'Aiden will help if needed. Rora herself is quite strong so coupled with Aiden's strength there should be no problem.' He nodded and gulped yet another mouthful of wine before looking at the sky in silence.

Aiden finally reached the capital, and his journey went without a hitch. He was determined to complete the task that Dan gave him. 'Dan's reputation and achievement are bound to soar, doing this kind of thing for him will bring his trust and future potential opportunities.' He thought as he walked toward the palace.

He first went to the Military Ministry and reported some news and intelligence regarding their attack and success. After the praises and welcoming he told them he was tasked by Dan to attend to some personal matters of his which was accepted surprisingly.

"Dan The Valiant is our kingdom's reverend warrior. He will be his highness, the crown prince, right hand in the face of other kingdoms." Was their reaction as they encouraged him to do his task.

Seeing this Aiden was speechless. He knew that Dan was an important awakened but this was another level of importance.

The next day he visited the palace in his search for "Lady Aurora" Dan mentioned. Being a relatively high-ranking military officer her easily got permission to enter and even after saying he need to see Lady Aurora, the inspector smiled and told him " Lady Aurora is currently in the living quarter of the crown prince. If you want to send a message or set a meeting with her you have to ask from prince's guards." Aiden nodded and thanked the inspector. Although he had questions he knew the inspector couldn't answer him. 'But how Dan knew someone from the crown prince's living quarter?' he wondered. He knew the implication of such a thing, it essentially meant that she was in a future royal harem. 'Well, it doesn't concern me and I don't care either.' He thought.

He strode toward Zane's living quarter. Occasionally he would meet some acquaintances and greet them. When he reached the main door of the quarter he stated his business and asked to see Aurora.

"Sir. It's not that we can't let you in, it's just Lady Aurora is .... Occupied currently and can't see anyone today." The guard said in a mixture of embarrassment and ... reminisce.

Aiden was bewildered by the guard's attitude but accepted his words helplessly.

'By tomorrow if I still couldn't enter the quarter I must consult with a few of my friends and gain a chance to meet her.' He decided in his mind.

Feeling helpless he left the quarter empty-handed.

The next day he took the same root and reached the door of the quarter.

"Ah. Sir. I'm sorry about yesterday… Mistress will now see you." The same guard as yesterday told him.

Aiden nodded understandingly and said "It's alright. Please lead the way." The guard opened the door and guided him. Upon reaching the door of a chamber he said, "Lady Aurora currently is resting in this chamber, no guards are allowed from this point forward so here is my stop." The guard said.

Aiden nodded slightly, "Alright, but doesn't mistress need some protection?" he said.

The guard looked a bit terrified and pale when he answered, "A-Ah. The mistress doesn't need a guard…" he said in a low voice.

Aiden was now dumbfounded. He sensed there are many abnormalities around this "Lady Aurora" so he naturally became a bit vigilant.

He opened the door, the bed chamber was what he expected it to be. A king-size bed, red curtains around it, and some miscellaneous furniture here and there. On the other side of the chamber was a big balcony with a round table and several chairs around it. Two chairs were occupied, a blonde beauty and a fox young woman were sitting next to each other.

The blonde one was wearing a black gown, her net-like dress added to its transparency making her pale skin in contrast with the dress, making her extremely charming.

The fox woman was breathtaking. Her hair was almost green with a tinge of purple in some parts. She exude the aura of confidence and power as her big and firm breasts defied gravity in a very lax dress. She had a white slip and her pale shoulders and smooth skin were glittering in the morning light. Her fox ears were almost green and her rosy lips were sipping a drink from the cup her delicate hand was holding.

Her beautiful blue eyes saw Aiden as she smiled spectacularly and said, "Hello dear. I think You have a message for me, right?" her melodious voice brought him out of his trance.

"Ah. Y-yes. Are you Lady Aurora?" Aiden said nervously not knowing where to look.

"Yes, my dear. That would be me." She said and looked at him curiously.

Aiden looked at the blonde woman and looked a bit unsure.

"Ah. Don't worry about her, she is with me." Hearing this Aiden eased a little and said, "Sir Dan has sent me…" For a moment there was worry on her face as Aiden continued "He sent me to check on your health and security. He said if you need anything you can tell me."

"Also if something or someone is threatening you, you can tell me. I will help to the best of my abilities."

Aurora's face changed to one of amusement. A smile crept on her seductive lips as she seemed that she thought of something. Giggling she stood up and strode toward him.

Seeing her swaying hips and jiggling breasts, Aiden felt a maddening arousal would assault his sense. He was frozen in his spot when her warm breath tickled his ears as she whispered, "So you are his friend? Well, I don't feel threatened in the slightest. The crown prince wants to marry me, so I am in a very safe place." Her sweet fragrance buzzed his head as she leaned closer. "Yes tell him that I am marrying the crown prince and the prince is a person of our caliber." He was confused by her words but her hand soon erased everything from his mind, including confusion.

She caressed his thigh and slowly crept toward his bulge. She caught it with her hand and feigned surprise. "Oh. Quite naughty aren't you? Lusting after your future monarch's mistress? " She said and gripped him tighter.

From aside the blonde woman stood and when reached him slowly pushed his body with her voluptuous body to the edge of the bed.

"Make sure to tell him of this experience. I'm sure he will appreciate it …" She smiled.

Aiden still frozen could only watch as two vixens pushed him onto the bed.
