"Squeak."
As they chatted, a handsome blonde man pushed open the door and walked in, followed by his son.
"I didn't expect Mr. Borgin's business to be so good today,"
Lucius Malfoy remarked lightly, casting a brief glance at the two of them. However, his eyes narrowed slightly when he saw Malvolio.
Tewell wasn't worried though; according to Malvolio, Lucius hadn't recognized him since after 1972.
At that time, Lucius looked drastically different from his youth, with no hair left.
So Lucius was just curious about Malvolio's demeanor and withdrew his gaze upon seeing him.
Lucius almost called him 'my lord' seeing his back; he felt relieved in his heart.
Tewell wasn't interested in staying here anymore; it didn't matter if Malfoy didn't recognize him, he was just afraid that Malvolio might say something inappropriate.
"Well, I won't bother you then. I'll come back at the end of the month."
Smiling, he bid goodbye to Borgin, and with Malvolio, who was staring back at Lucius, they left the shop.
"I really don't understand why you're always so polite to these insects," Malvolio asked irritably as soon as they stepped out. "You even apologized to someone like Borgin."
"Let me give you a piece of advice," Tewell said calmly, "Treat your friends with warmth like spring, treat your enemies with the ruthless coldness of winter."
"Even if it's pretended."
Malvolio was momentarily stunned, showing a pensive expression.
"So, am I a friend or an enemy?"
"Let's call you a friend for now," Tewell said casually as they walked through Knockturn Alley. "Depends on what you do in the future."
Dark wizards always had to work harder than mere white ones; even now in the early morning, the relatively narrow alley was crowded with early risers or overnight wizards.
However, Tewell, dressed brightly, stood out among them; even Malvolio looked more like a surviving wizard here.
"As a friend, let me remind you, we're being watched," Malvolio said angrily, glaring at an old witch who stared back at him.
"They appeared a week ago," Tewell said nonchalantly as he smiled at the old witch. "Isn't that right, madam?"
The old witch's stiff eyes twitched slightly, and she lowered her head silently, no longer following them.
"How come I didn't know?" Malvolio sneered openly, looking around without any pretense.
"Do you really think that cat's meow was accidental? Or have you ever seen a stray cat living in Knockturn Alley?" Tewell asked pointedly.
Malvolio suddenly realized, "So, it was the magic I used to adapt my body that attracted them."
They strolled around for a while, the place gradually becoming deserted; no shops, no pedestrians, except for those three shady figures.
Instead of leaving, they became more conspicuous, realizing their target was aware of them.
"It seems your kindness isn't effective," Malvolio quipped.
"Then I'll rely on you to be ruthless," Tewell said.
Before Malvolio could respond, Tewell's figure vanished instantly from the spot.
And in that moment of Malvolio's astonishment, three figures wearing tattered hoods suddenly apparated around him, surrounding him with wands pointed at him.
"Hand over all your belongings, or you can let us find them on your corpse," the hooded man in front of him said coldly.
It was only then that Malvolio came to his senses, looking angrily at the roof of a nearby building.
"You bastard, you actually left these little lackeys to me?!"
The three dark wizards stared blankly in that direction, where no one was present, before realizing that the lackeys were referring to them.
They angrily shouted, "Avada Kedavra!" three times.
A blinding green light flashed, and when they looked again, there was no trace of Malvolio in the spot.
Just as they were puzzled, the ground suddenly flipped, and three large pythons emerged, swallowing them whole.
After a series of crashing sounds and screams, the pythons transformed back into the ground, revealing three bodies soaked in blood, their skeletons almost completely shattered and contorted beyond recognition.
Tewell and Malvolio reappeared beside them, Tewell looking disgusted at the scene.
"You're really gross," he remarked.
"It's what happens without wands," Malvolio shrugged indifferently. "We needed to deal with them quickly without making too much noise. This was the most convenient way."
"Hmm?"
Tewell scrutinized one of the bodies, the relatively intact one.
"This person's bones are much harder than normal. Is he a half-breed?"
Some magical creatures could reproduce with humans, producing offspring with characteristics of both species, like Hagrid.
"No," Malvolio glanced and instantly understood what was going on.
"This is a werewolf. Their bone density, apart from their hair, is the most distinguishing feature when they're not transformed."
Tewell nodded in understanding.
Compared to old wizards like Dumbledore and Voldemort, his lack of miscellaneous experiences was his biggest gap.
Even given time, he could recognize that this was a werewolf, but not as quickly as Malvolio.
He waved his wand, cleaning up the bodies.
It was normal for a few dark wizards to disappear without a trace in Knockturn Alley.
Seeing Tewell's contemplative expression, Malvolio asked curiously, "What's up? Are you thinking of saving these werewolves?"
Tewell shook his head. "I'm just thinking about what kind of task to give you."
"So you're just realizing now the value of resurrecting me?" Malvolio scoffed.
"I originally intended for you to find Voldemort, but now, your task is to deal with these dark wizards."
"Hah," Malvolio chuckled. "You might as well have me become an Auror."
Tewell looked at him in surprise. "Actually, I did consider having you become an Auror."
Feeling the sincerity in his eyes, Malvolio felt Tewell was a madman, even crazier than himself. To have the Dark Lord become an Auror, why not have Dumbledore become the Dark Lord?!
Was this a plan that a normal person could come up with?!
"Are you out of your mind? Even I can't forge a set of school grades or an identity that can pass scrutiny."
Tewell smiled as he explained. "Actually, you just need to control an Auror, then transform into his appearance. You can then openly appear in the Ministry of Magic and become a glorious Auror."
After a series of explanations, Malvolio realized the possibility, and his restless heart gradually became excited.
"Are you sure Aurors are easy to deceive now? I was quite impressed with Moody back then."
"Moody has retired; now, there are only young Aurors in the Ministry of Magic."
"And, Cynthia will mobilize an Auror in the name of Cooperation Department. By then, the two of you can cooperate to control that poor guy."
"Then the two of you can support each other in the Ministry of Magic. With your handling of dark wizards, your merits will definitely be much greater than others!"
Tewell excitedly patted Malvolio's arm.
Planning for a Dark Lord to become an Auror, was there anything more satisfying than this?
"But I can't take Polyjuice Potion."
"So, I'll teach you the human transfiguration spell properly this month!"
