Chapter Eighteen

Arthur was the one who found me and carried me to my room, according to Gloin when he saw my knocked out body dangling on the elf's back he naturally thought that the reason was Arthur and so he attacked him. Arthur didn't really like explaining himself so they fought, am not sure if they used elements but when I came to I saw that our room was a disaster and the two were on their respective beds nursing their wounds, Gloin had a bloody nose and a busted lip while Arthur had blood on his left cheekbone, his nose and his forehead. (yeah Gloin definitely won that)

"ooh glad to see am not the only one bleeding," I said as I sat up on my bed, well I wasn't really bleeding my wounds had already healed awhile ago.

"don't worry sunshine I made sure that elfy would never ever put his hands on you again," Gloin said.

"that's awesome except he wasn't the one who kicked my ass, "

"really?" Gloin asked puzzled.

"yup." I answered Gloin immediately turned his eyes to Arthur.

"well why didn't you say anything?" Gloin yelled.

"well when your hairy fist touched my lips I was too disgusted to speak," Arthur said.

"oh yeah wanna go again?"

"with pleasure," Arthur answered as he practically jumped off his bed.

"guys, guys, guys the room is already messy enough no need to add more to it," I said.

"fine," Gloin said as he leaned back on his bed..

Arthur didn't say anything but he dropped his body on his bed which made me assume that he chose peace, Gloin asked me who did this to me and if he should pay them a visit but I told him, he didn't have to. I told him everything from who wiped the floor with my ass and the reason why they did why they did. This was the first time I had seen Gloin speechless since I met him which almost made me regret telling him as an uncomfortable silence feeled the room the person who spoke was Arthur.

"can I ask you a personal question?" Arthur said.

"uhm sure," I said but I already knew what the question was it should be along the lines of, are you really a commoner?

"when I found you I noticed that the wounds and cuts on your face were already healing and as we reached here they were fully healed. So my question is are you a healing variant?"

(okay not the question I was expecting.)

"no am not its, well.... Its a long story,"

"well unless I fall asleep then we got all night, right elfy?" Gloin said and Arthur nodded. I decided to tell them everything from how my mother used to get me books from that Melissa girl's home, how she saved up money to buy me a core forming technique, my training with Henry that led me to the idea of making every cell in my body to be capable of storing mana and how doing so may have resulted in my slow growth in core advancement.

" that was a risky move especially expanding your core, though the pay out was worth the risk that explains why the presence you give off feels a lot higher," Arthur said or basically mumbled, the rest of the night was spent just being asked questions by the two and me answering to be honest this night was one of the best moment of my life.

Now I don't know how or when but news of me being a low level commoner spread like wildfire, the elves and dwarfs didn't seem to care since according to Arthur and Gloin more than lineage talent was more appreciated. Humans on the other hand whew! Let's just say that other nobles already hated my guts when they thought that I was either sponsored by a noble house or that my parents were rich merchants but since they heard it my life in this school was complete and utter hell.

The next few weeks was spent by mostly being kissing the floor every goddamn day, I would get tripped by some random fucker whenever I was walking the corridors, my meals were always used as a shampoo on me, during classes like combat class almost everyone was itching to fight me and even when the instructor said that the duel was over my opponent never relented, speaking of the duels I never fought back I kept following Henry's advice since even dodging their strikes pissed them off and also besides the duels when either Gloin and elfy weren't close to me that was when I would get jumped, usually they would pull me into an empty classroom and then proceed to beat the absolute shit out of me.

Sometimes they would leave me passed out inside the classroom which would usually end with me staying their till the following morning or they would pull me out to the hallway where either Arthur or Gloin would find me and carry me back to my room, I can't believe me getting my ass handed to me and the two kicking each others ass was what made the three of us bond more. Before I forget I finally reached the dark red stage it would have been awesome but nowadays spending a day without my any part of my body bleeding was a miracle. The professors either didn't know what was happening (BULLSHIT) or they didn't really care.

Right now I was in the shower washing off the dried blood and stew from my hair, most of my uniforms were covered with blood but having a roommate that can control fire was more than helpful since after washing them he would regulate the amount of heat he could produce which would dry my uniform and not burn it.

"Raiden why do you take it?" Gloin asked as his tone was slightly pissed, Arthur shifted his gaze from his book as he waited for my answer.

"because it's easier this way," I said.

"but.. ARGH! whatever its not my ass getting kicked anyway," Gloin said angrily as he went under his covers, his little outburst made me smile a bit it was nice to see someone else getting mad at my 'issue'. Though it is sad that I resorted to missing my classes and the reason was simple there was a limit to what I could endure without sending someone to the medical wing. Oh speaking off which this school had a tiny clinic on the far south wing, it was a large enough room with seven beds in it and its staff members included two male nurses (humans), a female dwarf nurse and a Doctor who was a female elf they were all healer variants and great alchemist cause their tonics did help with the pain though it was mostly headaches but it still helped.

But to make up for the missed classes I would spend almost an entire day at the library reading, I never had a teacher in my entire life except Henry and to be honest I don't think I need them for theory classes but the practical ones I was obliged to attend the lessons. So in short my life was going through a steady rhythm of getting beat up at least two times a week, hanging out with my two roommates and the library.

"Raiden have you ever heard of mana wells?" Gloin asked me.

"no what's that?"

"A mana well is a phenomenon in which mana is concentrated in a singular place such that it resembles a small pool or lake," Arthur answered before Glon's lips could even twitch.

"what elfy said, so what do you think of using one?"

"I don't mind,"

"Great so tomorrow the three of us are heading out, also Raiden the mana pools are usually painless but for my plan it's..... going to hurt."

"wait, what?" I said a little confused.
