"Honey, you know that was just a mistake." Mo Jiaxin or whatever his name was, said.

He was holding Li Nuan's face in his hands as he apologized over and over.

I should not be standing here listening to their conversation but curiosity got the better of me.

They are going to be engaged today. An event which I planned. I am an event planner, and after planning various events for the Rich families, the one thing they are full of would be drama.

I have witnessed many such scenes and the one in front of me would be added to that list.

So I do the stupidest thing in the world. I record the conversation.

"You were literally f**king her and you are telling me it was a mistake. We are done. I am breaking up with you." Li Nuan said as she vigorously wiped her tears.

My eyes widened at the actual situation. I was not expecting this at all. Sure I know that this happens but seeing with my own eyes is different.

I have seen people fussing over some expensive item, them not liking a person and making things hard for them.

I had to deal with them after all, otherwise in the end they would put the blame on the weak because they can't offend each other.

But this, I have been planning their engagement for the past two months, and from what I have seen, they looked madly in love.

Whenever I had to ask what kind of flowers they wanted or decoration or something specific Mo Jiaxin would always indulge her.

He knew what kind of things she liked and it made the planning very easy.

After interacting with them for the past two months I thought they were the perfect couple.

I can't wrap my head around the situation that he cheated on her and now he is saying it was a mistake.

Is he kidding her?

"Oh Please, Nuan Nuan you know that your family wants this arrangement and you refusing from it will only create trouble for them. You should know what's best for you."

Is he threatening her? Oh my god!

Even though it was a business arrangement which I already know, they were in love with each other.

So he was just using her.

Li Nuan did not say anything after that but her face had lost all its color.

I definitely should not have heard this but since I have I can't let this happen.

They did not shut the door of their room, so they cannot blame me.

I step inside and say "You guys can talk all you want after the ceremony but now she needs to get ready." Then as if I did not witness the whole thing I gasped "Why are you crying Nuan Nuan?" Jiaxin's face tensed up at my question.

He seems to be finding something to say from his stupid brain but I don't have time for that so I gave him a leeway.

"You must have surprised her with something. You should have at least waited till the ceremony."

"Yeah I just surprised her." He was probably more surprised because he was nodding his head frantically.

Did he not got the hint or what. I am already losing my patience.

"So if you don't want to delay the engagement can you go out so that she can get ready." I said trying my best to act normal because right now that's the last thing I would be.

I don't know what Nuan Nuan is going to do but I might end up beating this bastard if he stood in front of me a second more.

He finally understood what I was trying to say because he headed for the door. He looked over at her with warning in his eyes thinking that I won't understand anything.

I close the door with a bam venting some of my anger at it.

I turned around to look at Li Nuan who looked as if nothing was left.

She was standing there lifelessly.

I did something I don't usually do. I went and hugged her.

"I heard everything." I said softly.

I don't know if she registered anything I said or not, but she broke into sob and then she started crying venting out all her emotions.

She didn't said anything, and I didn't pushed her. I hugged her all the time till she cried her heart out.

"You are not marrying him." I say with certainty like I have the absolute right to make decisions for her.

"I don't have any other option. " She said after a while helplessly.

Instead of minding my own business like I should have, here I am trying to talk sense to someone who doesn't want to take it.

I can lose my job and I should stop myself from doing something terrible but ain't no way I am letting her ruin her life like that.

"Nuan Nuan, look at me." I say forcing her to face me. Her eyes were hazy and her nose red from crying.

"He is a bastard for doing that to you, and believe me you deserve someone much better and that person is not him. I am not letting you have any kind of relationship with him." It would have been fine if something like this happened and I was not aware of it. But I can't let it happen in front of my eyes, I won't be able to forgive myself.

She hugged me back, I don't know what she was thinking but I knew she was not listening to me.

Even though it was a business marriage and her parents might even lose everything if they went against the groom's family, I knew one thing for sure that they loved her and they would never want their daughter to suffer like that.

She won't listen to me anyways, so I think I should just call them here and let them handle the situation.

I picked up my phone and texted them after Li Nuan went into the bathroom to wash up.

Me: Mr. and Mrs. Li. I want to talk to you about something very important which concerns the future of your daughter. It can't be delayed. So can you both please come into her room, and please don't let anyone find out that you both are here.

They would definitely think something is wrong and would come up. I think it was enough to let them know that it was something important.

They came after five minutes indicating that my message met its purpose.

Nuan Nuan was still in the washroom, I don't know if she was just washing up or she started crying again. It was highly possible she was doing the latter though.

I made the couple sit and told them the whole story cutting out the fact that I was evasdropping. I told them that the door was wide open and I was standing in front of it and the people in the room completely ignored me which was also the truth.

They would have noticed me if they were conscious about their surrounding.

They were so immersed in their confrontation that they became oblivious of the environment.

They could not believe me. I can tell from their expressions. I know I sound ridiculous to them. After all they believed that their daughter and that bastard were madly in love.

Even I would find it hard to believe if someone told me. If not for witnessing him admitting to it with my own eyes.

I am glad that I recorded it earlier, otherwise no one would have believed me.

It is better to have solid evidence.

Though if someone focused on the fact that I was recording the whole thing while standing there I would be in deep trouble.

I show them the evidence and they are dumbfounded after watching it.

Li Nuan comes out of the washroom at some point.

She understood after seeing her parents that I told them.

She shook her head to me as if telling me silently that I should not have done that.

As if I was going to watch her get engaged to him after knowing the whole thing.

"You were still going to marry him after all this. I don't want my company over the cost of my daughter's happiness." Mr. Li said with tears in his eyes.

NuanNuan eyes teared up again. "Dad" She said softly as she burst into tears once again.

"Thank you so much. Ms. Su. If you would not have told us the truth, I don't know what would have happened." Mr Li. Said turning towards me.

I sighed with relief. No matter what will happen, it seems like she was not going to sacrifice her life anymore.

"No need, I just did what any human being should do."

"I don't know what will happen but if you need something in the future and I am capable of it, please feel free to come to me." He said gratefully.

I nodded fully aware that these words were not coming from the businessman but from a father.

I excuse myself and leave the room leaving the family of the three.
