'Raiden- the lucky guy'

!!==[Raiden's POV]==!!

.

.

I am in the hands of Death.

A mystery which engulfs everything than the time-

Everything ends up leading to here-

No matter how valiant or how cruel you are-

It sees no difference.

But, It seems I know this feeling very well.

This feeling has been haunting me so many times that I have no problem facing it.

While it grapples the deepness of our souls, it can make you see anything you can imagine dead or alive, just like an illusion- without any differences.

"...status normal, heartbeat ninety-nine, blood potency forty-eight percent and decreasing..."

-A sound appeared from the depth of time.

Why I am hearing this all of a sudden?

Aahhhhhhhhhh!

I felt like falling from the cold hands of the Death, into the raging hellfire beneath it.

But, why this fire seems green than fiery red and dark?

Suddenly- the green fire extinguishes before my eyes, and a strange white light strikes my eyes.....

.

.

"...He is awake! He is awake!"

I heard a girl's voice.

Is it Lisa?

I slowly moved my eyes, fighting with the striking white light falling on my eyes, making me struggle to open them.

"...You are finally awake! Robin!"- I heard Niloy's voice.

I opened my eyes, and a blur of images appeared like a catalytic explosion- followed by a strong white light coming straight above me.

It was a lamp.

While a figure in a white dress stood in front of me; where I was seemingly laid down-

Two person-like figures were standing next to my bed, one holding something like a display having some stats on it.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my hand- which I found was still too numb for me to move it.

"...Wait! Wait! Wait! Don't move that hand right now, that has a fracture."- a girl's voice appeared as I tried to move it forcefully; being anxious.

"...F...Frac-tur-ed?"- I muttered; still not having the strength to say something clearly.

"That big man you fought with, must have broken your arm; Don't get over-surprised- brat!"- Another person spoke out; seemingly, Niloy.

"...W-h-at happen-ed to me....?"

I tried asking; just to get scolded by a familiar female voice.

"Just shut up! Let that mouth be shut for some time. You have scared all of us for a while now..."

"...b-but....", I recognized she was Lisa.

"I said shut up, just get yourself recuperating. no speaking anymore!", She exclaimed.

Getting scolded by such brutality, I nodded in an assertion.

"Is he okay now?"- Lisa asked the Medic; seeing Raiden stop talking.

"I have injected some repair-droids* into his body, he would be soon okay. If his body potency falls down to zero or increases above sixty, Inform me."- The Medic said; handing the stat-meter** to Lisa.

"Ye! Thanks, Dr.Jane."- she said, looking at the stats.

"You are duly welcome, enforcer* Lisa."- Jane said; turning towards the doors to leave.

"Wait! Doctor! How's Boss Tai now?"- Niloy said; stopping her steps.

"Boss Tai? He is okay. You can visit him after you are done here."- She answered.

Niloy looked towards Lisa and Raiden once and stopped the Doctor again.

"...Okay, Okay! I am done, I am done here."

He hurried with the Doctor, leaving the two souls in the room.

A year or two has passed and he is still stubborn the same as he was.

Can't he be lenient to himself and take some care?

.

.

Two years ago------

I was a probationary agent of the Kolkata Law enforcement department.

Sent to probe into the smuggler guild of Burdwan, I ended up meeting him-

In an old reinforced jacket and a bottle of Junkie beer in his hands, the shine of his eyes was the same even after considering all of that.

I met him on a cold Saturday night, being chased by a whole gang of gunmen from the Burdwan smuggler guild.

I can still remember his face- which even being covered with dirt and dust; had a certain noble aura on it.

He grabbed my hands and took me into his arms- saving me from a barrage of hellfire coming from the smugglers' guns; like a hero, I would say, he seemed to be.

"Be here! I would back in a minute.", He said, putting a piece of cloth in the bottle he had in his hands.

"But, who are you? And why are you saving me...?", I tried asking him.

Ignoring my question, He kept lighting up the cloth on the bottle- turning it into a Molotov.

"Young Lady! You should go now, It's going to be sizzling, really sizzling.", He continued- lighting up a cigarette from that burning Molotov.

"But...."

I tried saying more to him, but he left me there with a warm smile and a whiff of his cigarette smoke imprinting the atmosphere for the next moments-.

I saw him climbing up the overhead pipes- dodging the cruel gunfire pointed at him from the hellish gunmen.

*Crack*

With a sound of breaking glass, the gunmen firing at us soon were inside a hell of alcoholic fire; but with them- my saviour was also nowhere to be seen.

I wondered where he vanished into the flames.

Is he dead?

Suddenly, I felt a pat on my shoulders; and the same type of cigarette smoke being renewed again-

"Hey! Looking for someone?"

I turned, and it was him-

Smokin' in his half-burnt jacket and half-rekkt cigarette.

.

.

----

"L...Lisa?"

"Lisaa?"

I heard his voice and managed to come back from the reminiscing past between us.

"Ye! Robin?", I answered him; taking a look at his stats again.

"....H-How I ended up here?"- He mumbled, still weak to speak loud enough.

"How you ended up here?"-I continued, "You would have died there if Niloy's message not have reached me. You are fortunate."

"...Luck? Huh...", He continued with a smile- "..If I was lucky, I wouldn't have been in so much trouble."

Next chapter on the way.
