Chapter 17: My Gift Packages!

{Alright Zoe, tell me about the store!}

[You want to know about the store?]

{Yes please!}

[Alright, I'll give you the quicker version, cause if I went all out and told you about literally everything the store has to offer, then we would be here all night. . .]

{Wow! The store has that much stuff?}

[Yes it does, now shut up! I'm going to tell you about it.]

[Hahaha. . . Anyways, the store is where you can buy equipment, skills, fighting companions, potions, elixirs, and etc. Now I want you to take a look through your vision. Do you see me?]

{Um. . . Yes I do. I'm so glad that I don't have to have my eyes open.}

[Yes it would be a pain to others to watch your eyes move around. Anyways, I want you to look at where I'm pointing. I'm pointing at the spot right above your head on your character. Now I want you to say 'Open Store'.]

{Alright. Open Store.}

A window then opened up in front of me. It was a giant list of items that I can buy with gold, or with something called System Tokens. I can also categorize the list that way it makes it easier for myself.

{Hey Zoe, what is a System Token?}

[A System Token are items you can get for completing a System Quest. Now that you have activated the Store, you are able to start doing System Quests, but I'll explain the System Quests here in a moment. Now that you have the Store opened up, I want you to take a look at the top left corner of the window. You should have something that indicates that you have 2 items pending. View it with you vision, and say 'Open Pending'. Since you don't have any money left right now, we will not worry about searching for anything in the store, but just to let you know when you get enough gold or System Tokens I will remind you of the Store.]

{Alright, that is fine. Open Pending.}

[You are about to open 'Starting Gift Package' and 'Level 5 Gift Package'. Are you sure that is what you would like to do?]

[Yes][No]

{Oh wow. . . If only I had opened this before I did anything in this world.}

[Well you did kind of land in a slime spawn. So it was hard for you to think of doing anything except running.]

{Eh. . . True. Well at least I don't have to worry about dying right now. Since I've got 10x Healing Potions.}

[That is indeed true. Well I would suggest you get a little bit of rest before Arialle wakes you up.]

After about four hours, I felt someone poking my arm.

"Arthrall, wake up. It has been 6 hours already." Arialle said to me.

"Erg. . . Alright, I'm up. You go ahead and get some sleep alright!" I told her.

"Will do. Wake me up in 6 hours please!" She said while laying down.

"I will!" I said to her.

I got up from my bed, and walked out of the tent. It was still dark out, but luckily the fire was still going. I noticed that there was some wood near the fire pit. I figured she must of went and got some wood from around us. I sat down near the fire, and opened up my inventory.

{Open Inventory.}

A smaller window popped up, and what was inside was the potions, skill, and the equipment I had gotten from the packages earlier. The first thing I did was I learned the Skill -- Mult-Barrage. I felt a surge of energy enter my body, and In my vision I saw a small video that shows what Mult-Barrage did. It was a pretty cool move, it allowed me to hit more than one target with a little bit of mana. The next thing I did was I took out the bow, and inspected it.

"Huh. . ."

I was surprised to see a level on my weapon. So I guess they have ranks in the world also. All of a sudden I heard a slight rustling near our fire pit, then out came a rabbit. I looked at the rabbit for a moment to see its stats.

[Red-Tailed Rabbit

Health -- 10/10

Strength -- 1

Dexterity -- 3

Constitution -- 1

Intelligence -- 2

Wisdom -- 1]

I decided to shoot it for breakfast tomorrow, I took an arrow out of my inventory since I had left my quiver in the tent. I notched the arrow into my weapon, and I fired it right at the rabbits head. It hit directly in the side of the head. Instant kill, it started shaking a little bit until it was fully dead. I stood up and walked over to it, I pulled the arrow out of its head, and then I picked it up so that way i could clean it. I cut open its stomach area, and I cleaned it out. After I was done doing that, I took it back to where I was sitting, and I skewered it onto a stick. I then stabbed the stick down next to me.

"Hey Arialle, wake up!" I said to her while poking her foot with a stick.

"Huh. . . Oh I'm awake, sorry!" She said to me while yawning.

"Oh you are fine, I've got a little breakfast ready for you. Hey Orion, wake up you lazy dragon!" I said while glancing at Orion.

{{What?? Oh sorry. I didn't realize I slept so long.}}

"Well wake up, I've got your food out here." I said while walking away from the tent.

A few minutes later, Arialle and Orion walked out of the tent.

"Wow! What are you cooking?" Arialle asked me as she sat down next to me.

"A Red-Tailed Rabbit, it wondered next to the fire, and I shot it with my bow. You mind if i use a knife or a dagger to cut it in half?" I told her while taking the rabbit off the stick.

"Yeah. Here hand over the rabbit, I'll cut it with my dagger. Sorry, only I'm able to use my daggers." She said with her hand out.

"It is all good, here you go." I told her while handing over the rabbit.

She cut it directly in half, from the head to the tail. After that she handed me one half and she kept the other. After I had gotten my food, I got out the last two slabs of meat, and then I put them down in front of Orion. It took us only a few moments to eat all of the rabbit, and it didn't take Orion long to finish his slabs of meat either.

"So, you wanna keep killing multiple slimes, or single ones for now?" She asked me.

"Actually, I want to try multiple slimes for now. I've gotten a new skill!" I told her.

"You did?! Nice, what is it?" She asked me excitedly.

"It will be a surprise. Let's put out the fire, and pack up our stuff." I told her while standing up.

I walked over to the tent, and picked up my sleeping stuff, my shortbow, and my arrows. I put the bow over my shoulders, and the quiver over the right side of my head. I put the Iron Arrows into the quiver before Arialle walked into the tent.

"Hey, is this your bow?" She asked me while holding onto the Battle Ranger's Shortbow that I had left out there.

"Yeah, I found it in the woods earlier." I told her, sadly I had to lie to her for now until I can fully trust her.

"Nice, it seems like this bow can level up." She mentioned to me

"Yeah I noticed that last night, that is the other reason why we had rabbit for breakfast. It had given me 5 experience to kill it." I told her while grabbing to bow from her.

"Nice!" She exclaimed.

It didn't take us too long to put out the fire, and to take the tent down. It had taken us maybe 10 minutes total to get everything put up.

"Alright, let's go kill some more slimes!!" I said loudly.
