The System’s Mistake

What happens when the system gets stuck with a good-for-nothing master? Let’s explore the system’s perspective in trying its best to change a man that would rather sleep than seek power. Authors notes: I hope you give this a try and help me grow as an author who once loved to read. This will be my first web novel and I welcome all feedback!

Is this guy for real?

In a dark room Jay was having trouble to see. Using analysis however gave him a 3D layout of the area. Walking to an inconspicuous corner he called over Wilson to start drilling.

"Hey!" A startled voice squeaked. "How did you get in here? What are you doing!"

Ignoring the voice, Jay placed his hand in the hole that Wilson made and pulled out a gleaming crystal.

"I cant let you have that!" Suddenly the lights turned on and a squirrel like creature appeared floating in the air wearing a tuxedo. It pointed it's cane at Jay and started chanting.

Feeling threatened Jay pulled out a desert eagle made out of meteor tears and fire at the annoying rat. Allot of his shots missed but the bullets were endless.

The squirrels hp bar plummeted and when it had a sliver left, Jay stopped firing.

"Ssstop please! I was mistaken! I surrender!" The squirrel begged.

Ignoring the rat, Jay analyzed the core.

[Tower Core - used for strengthening the awakened. It can also be used to open a gateway to another world (Host can absorb the core to gain a new function)]

Ding! Ding!

"Quest complete!!!" Luna couldn't contain her excitement she didn't think her host could complete any of these quests on time let alone 2 at the same time. 'There's still time before the deadline, maybe…'

"So. Mr. Rat, you must be the tower admin." Jay questioned. The squirrel couldn't retort this man, he was scary.

"Ye..yes hero, please spare m…" the squirrel tried to reply

"Stay out of my head!" Jay yelled obviously annoyed

The squirrel was terrified, no human should be strong enough to beat an administrator. It was just supposed to test humans and give them rewards. Their energy used in the tower would then fuel the core but.. this human is different.

Seeing the obedient rat quiet down. Jay asked it questions but it only nodded or shook its head to answer.

"So if a human passes all the tests how do they lea.." in the middle of his interrogation, Jay was interrupted by a group of humans charging into the room.

5 minutes earlier Crystal, Chris, John and Alex all received a system prompt.

[Kill the intruder and you may leave this place!]

Finally seeing the hopes of freedom they charged into the room to attack Jay.

Seeing this, Jay sighed in response. He saw the group charging at him, it was a girl with 2 men and a boy that quickly disappeared to the side.

"Wilson." Jay called then he opened his inventory and threw salt around him.

Wilson charged towards the man with the big sword but it was sliced in 2 with ease however as soon as he passed it he was hit with a hail of bullets. It didn't hurt but seeing his hp bar quickly depleting he retreated.

Then a soldier stepped forward and started running towards Jay. Unfazed he fired another hail of bullets until the soldier laid on the ground.

Right after a big ball of fire headed towards Jay, but it was easily absorbed by a dark vortex.

Watching his surroundings, Jay aimed his desert eagle directly behind him and fired. The boy appeared out of nowhere. He plumped towards the ground then a cry was heard ending the fierce fight.

"Alex!!" Crystal shouted she immediately used heal on him.

Seeing everyone stand down. Alex put his desert eagle away. He used analysis to look for that rat that seemingly slipped away.

"Sigh.. maybe don't attack strangers next time." Seeing the previously bleeding kid on the floor get up, Jay lectured these uncultured people.

Jay walked towards his golem and collected it's corpse. He deconstructed it and started to fabricate a new one.

Finally noticing the man that they were fighting Chris, Crystal, and John all looked at each other in bewilderment. 'Wasn't this guy the 'package'?' They thought

Alex approached Jay and apologized for attacking him. He knew Jay changed the angle of the barrel

at the last second to hit his shoulder. He would be dead if Jay aimed for the head.

"Yes, yes we all make mistakes. I actually have a job for you." Pointing at the strongest looking man, Jay threw him a drill and ordered him to drill a hole at a specific wall.

It felt so natural as if a teacher asking the class to open their textbooks. Chris complied he felt guilty for attacking him it was the least he could do plus this guy was scary, for some reason his gun worked just fine when the guns that his team came with all seemed to be jammed.

After drilling a big enough hole, Jay stepped through with his desert eagle in hand. He needed to teach this rat a lesson. The room they came in looked like a control room with monitors showing everything happening within the tower. Jay quickly found the rat cowering in a corner.
