Chap 47

He stepped outside the dormitory building and looked at the blue moon shining brightly in the sky.

It was quite late, more than he initially expected. He started heading towards Jelfs Tower. The academy was the same as always, some places were quiet, while others were still bustling with crowds.

Gazing at the unknown buildings and towers along the path, he sighed. The academy was too big and there were far more things for him to explore. Not to mention so many features were locked for first years. He had to grow as fast as possible.

His mind wandered as he started to think more deeply. The burden on his shoulders felt too heavy for him.

He arrived right in front of Jelfs Tower before he even realized it. He was just too lost in thought.

He shook his head and gazed at the purple portal, the gate of the tower.

"I still have a few years or so, I have to grow faster," he muttered as he entered the tower.

The same old soothing feeling washed over him as he appeared on the first floor of the tower.

A few moments later, a goblin appeared.

He rushed towards it and killed it in a single hit. His eyes glowed red in the dimly lit room as he grabbed the softly glowing dark purple saber, waiting for the next floor to start.

Time flowed as usual, but not his clearing process. It took him just one single hit to kill the enemies until the tenth floor. The ogre was still too big for his short body to behead.

Despite that, it took him two swift strikes before killing it. One at the legs to make it fall down, and one on the head.

The next eleventh and twelfth floors passed rather quickly as he used his second form of Azur Edge.

"Cresting Wave Strikes." A rather unusual name, but the patterns were rather tricky to defend against.

'Cresting Wave Strikes: Rapid six diagonal slashes, three on the left, three on the right, like a crashing wave focusing on raw strength, pushing the enemy backwards.'

And finally, he killed the two lions on the twelfth floor. Now the real battle would start.

Lukas took a deep breath. The last time he killed was luck. He couldn't depend on luck always.

Like the last time, within the ruins, four sand lions rushed towards him.

Lukas didn't wait and right away acted, but this time something new happened.

In that split moment, he immediately activated the fire arrow process while at the same time, he exhausted his own earth essence through his other hand while taking out the book.

Yes, with this, even without having an Aura zone, he could do something similar to dual casting.

The fire arrow was the first to launch towards one of the lions, which was targeted and locked by Aurora.

Meanwhile, the gathered essence in the book quickly changed as he activated the drill script.

It also formed rather quickly and headed towards the incoming lions, almost at the same time.

He didn't wait for the attacks to connect. He right away rushed towards the narrow alley. This time, he took a little bit more time to observe his surroundings, such as the high pillar and the small tree on the left side, in preparation for the next floor.

Just as he entered the alley, he could hear the roars of the lions in pain and the sound of muscles tearing apart.

This time, he made sure not to make the mistake of not checking the situation. He gave a quick glance before rushing into the narrow alley.

That quick glance was enough for him to grasp some of the situations. The lion that had been hit had its head pierced, causing it to fall down and stop the other one, while both lions burned along with the fire.

As for the other lion, its whole upper body had been shredded to pieces. That's how frightening his drill had become at level three.

Lukas quickly put his back against the wall and acted right away, conjuring another drill.

The drill shot forward, targeting the last intact lion that had tried to enter the narrow path.

Before it could react, its face was met with a frightening drill made of earth.

It didn't even have the chance to growl in fear as the drill struck, shredding its head completely and turning it into meat paste.

Thankfully, he was prepared and activated the fire dome, shielding him from its blood. The moment the blood touched the dome, it vaporized.

Yes, that was also the reason he chose fire for the armor. The lion's body collapsed, dying on the floor.

He carefully pushed it and gazed at the burning, pitiful lion that got buried by its leader, slowly dying and burning.

Tanvir didn't feel pity, nor sad. Conjuring a small drill, he poked a hole through its head, and thus it was dead.

The voice of the Tower echoed, and he strengthened his back and quickly climbed down one of the highest pillars.

He wasn't sure if the next floor would change or not, but if it didn't, he could use this advantage.

Yes, in the Tower, the first four floors had the same room or environment. His location didn't change when a new floor started, as long as the environment stayed the same. He could basically use this as an advantage.

So, basically, if he climbed up this pillar, he could kill them directly from here. The pillar wasn't standing straight because another pillar had fallen on it, causing it to hang down. This was enough for him to climb upon, and from here he could clearly look at the spawning point for the lions.

It was unfortunate that he couldn't prepare traps or something, but he already felt satisfied. Hopefully, with this, he could easily pass the trial.

Soon enough, the 14th floor began. Lukas widened his eyes and cursed the Tower. There were at least ten of them, instead of eight, which was already quite high considering the 13th floor had four lions! There were too many of them!

All of them simultaneously located his spot, and at that moment, Lukas realized he had messed up.

[A/N: Guys, am I bullying him too much? XD]
