The Odd Day Gets Stranger

Edmond walked over to the wardrobe opening the ornate doors. Inside it was full of all different kinds of dresses. He quickly glanced through the array of gowns when his eyes settled on a gown that was the color of the princess' eyes. Without a second thought, Edmond grabbed the gown and returned to Skye in the bathroom.

"Thanks," Skye said as she took the gown from him

"Do you need any help?" Edmond said avoiding her gaze.

Skye had already stepped into the gown and pulled it up around her good shoulder and then around her injured one as well. She then turned towards him with a perplexed look on her face.

"Would you mind helping me button it?" She asked, afraid he would say no.

Without a word he crossed the distance between them and started to button the long green gown. His fingers kept accidentally grazing her skin, cause goosebumps to appear on her skin. However, neither of the two said a word.

Skye kept thinking that it was nice that she had someone to rely on, someone who could help her.

Finally, Edmond broke the silence. "All done," he said as he took a step back.

"Thanks"

"It is my pleasure..... Do you mind if I ask a question?" Edmond asked shyly.

"Sure.... go ahead," Skye said her voice filled with hesitation. She wondered what he was going to ask her.

"Why is your shoulder glowing?" he asked with concern. His eyes were staring at the spot that was now covered by the dress.

Skye unconsciously grabbed the shoulder. She wasn't sure why it was glowing or what was happened and it scared her. She looked at Edmond's chest her eyes not meeting his gaze. Many people already considered her a freak due to her ears now this. What was everyone going to think?

"I'm not really sure, to be honest, it kind of scares me that I don't know. It might be from the arrow that Natalie shot or maybe it is from Issac's healing but either way, I am not quite sure." Skye said with a quiver in her voice, still not making eye contact with the man in front of her.

She was afraid and she didn't know why but she actually admitted it to him. Although the pair had never been considered close they had known each other for years and had mutual respect for one another.

In an instant, Edmond crossed the gap between them and wrapped Skye in his arms pulling him into her chest. She returned the hug and she stayed that way for a while before there was a knock on her door. Skye stiffened and Edmond broke then hug.

"We can talk later, you should go see what your father wants I am going to go I still have some training and I want to go check on Natalie," Edmond said as he exited through the back door of her cottage.

Skye watched as he exited and then she did the same through the front door. In front of he was a panting Isaac. She couldn't help but let out a light chuckle.

After there a short walk there were at the castle, Skye finally stopped and just looked at Isaac.

"Is it really that bad?" Skye gestured to the dress.

He hadn't stopped staring at her the entire walk over. She felt like she had a third head from the look he was giving her. Although not many people knew this, she was quite self-conscious.

Not too far away on the other side of the castle Edmond finally arrived at where Natalie was being kept. He pasted by the guards and approached her cell. Edmond wanted to know why, Why did Natalie shoot Skye with an arrow? He also wanted to know what had cause her shoulder to glow like it was.

"Wake up," Edmond said in a firm but calm tone.

He wouldn't let his emotions get the best of him, not this time.

Natalie sat up and stared at the man before her wordlessly. Edmond couldn't tell what she was thinking, this bothered him but he refused to show it.

"Why did you shoot the General?" he inquired as he stared at the woman before him.

Silence filled the air between the two, then in an instant, the silence was shattered with an evil laugh. One the shook Edmond to his core.

"Why wouldn't I? She's a good for nothing, fake princess. She isn't even a true elf, how could I let someone like that talk down to me? I should be the real princess, not that dumb half breed loser." said Natalie with an evil sneer.

Who is this girl? She isn't Natalie, she can't be. She was no longer the girl he once knew and even loved all those years ago. The woman before him was now a stranger that he could no longer recognize. It was as if she was now consumed with pure evil.

"What do you mean by half breed and that Skye isn't a true elf?" he questioned, eyes full of confusion.

"Oh, so its Skye now? You and the General must be close, I wonder why she hasn't told you? Maybe she doesn't quite trust you. Do you think she knows about your past? The one that you have tried to hide for some many years." She sneered at him.

Edmond involuntarily shuttered. "Could she know? She can't can she?" he thought fearfully.

When Natalie saw him shutter she let out another icy laugh.

"That still doesn't tell me why you shot her and what you laced the arrow with that cause Skye's wound to glow gold?" Edmond said without thinking.

"Glowing!!??! What do you mean glowing?" Natalie asked her voice was now laced with fear.

"So it wasn't you?" concern spread across his face.

"You have to save me, you have to get me out of here! They're going to find me. Why did I ever agree to this." The once cocky Natalie was now visibly distraught.

"What do you mean? What does her shoulder glowing mean?"

"Tell me Damn it!!" Edmond shouted his face now full of concern he was now truly afraid for Skye's life.

"It means that we are all now in danger," Natalie said as she started to curl into a ball. "No one told me that she was that powerful. Why did I agree to this, they said it would be an easy job." she murmured as she rocked back and forth afraid of what was to come.

"Natalie tell me! What are you talking about? Who hired you and why did they want to hurt Skye? What do you mean we are in danger?" Edmond asked as he grabbed her shoulders and shook the now distressed woman.

"I am talking about her lineage! She is the daughter of so mortal or even so regular elf. She is the daughter of a Goddess! I shot a goddess! I'm going to die, they are going to kill me." Natalie had now gone insane.

The next thing he knew Edmond had been pushed away and Natalie held the knife that Edmond kept on his belt in her hands.

"Natalie wait!" Edmond cried out as the tried to reach her.

Before he could really fathom what was happening Natalie plunged the knife into her chest and twisted. She then crumpled into a pile on the ground, blood was now oozing from the wound. Edmond rushed over and was about to heal her when she took the knife out of her chest. Crimson blood now covered the two of them.

"Someone Help!!!" Edmond cried out as he held the girl in his arms trying his best to heal her. Tears started to stream down his cheeks as he held his former lovers now lifeless body.

Suddenly, the bleeding stopped and there was a flash of black light. Natalie's eyes were now completely black, and the room felt as if it had dropped 10 degrees.

"Foolish elf, your friend is now my slave and I will do with her as I please as per our agreement." A chilling male voice called out through Natalie's body.
