How could you?

She knew that Gusion was scared and he really didn't want a dangerous demon to be with her but he wasn't honest . 

She put her hands on Gusion's chest and tried to push him. 

-Don't touch me... 

Megumi said it in a hateful voice. She knew how important she was for the man in front of her. 

-Princess, please don't hate me... 

Gusion said it with a voice that sounds like a little boy. The same voice when he said " don't you see how much i care for you?". 

Megumi pointed at Dirroth , who was still on the ground. Gusion tried to find an excuse to not let him free and he saw the opportunity. Gusion spoke but his fear was bigger than his anger. 

-My dear , that's no good idea. He is... 

Megumi's eyes were full with fire. She didn't care anymore. The moment she heard his comment, she went to Dirroth and untied him. 

Gusion took back a step and saw Megumi going to Dirroth. 

-My princess, what are you doing to this demon? 

Megumi ignored him , not caring about the consequences and put her hand on Dirroth's face to feel if he was still alive. He had some blood on him but he wasn't dead. 

Gusion took again a step back , trying to not be in the demon's way.Dirroth slowly opened his eyes and he saw Megumi above him. He also saw Gusion who was very uncomfortable with this. 

-My princess... 

He said with his charming smile , that didn't go well on Gusion, who was still jealous of Dirroth. 

-You...you are awake... 

Megumi said it in a calm way and she was still trying to remove the blood from Dirroth's face and body. Gusion was still watching this and the moment he saw him trying to stand up Gusion spoke again. 

-My princess , you must be careful...if he wants your blood, he might try to kill you for it. 

Megumi was ignoring Gusion and she was helping Dirroth to get up. The demon was still a little weak but he got up. 

-My princess, we are glad that you are okay. 

Megumi's parents came out from a carriage. Her mother was relieved and her father was mad. Gusion and Dirroth watched them as they came at Megumi. Gusion was hoping that they would punish her for helping the demon. After all , he came here for her rescue. 

-Megumi, how you could even... 

Megumi's father said it in anger , looking at Dirroth. 

Dirroth was a demon who lived a lot because of his curse. . He was around 200 hundred years old and he did see kings and queens. He was just a little worried if they would notice his demon features. He was trying to keep his shape more human like. 

Megumi's father looked at Dirroth and then he spoke in anger again. 

-Megumi, you're really stupid...why did you believe him that he will save you? He just wanted to use you and now look who he was. A demon... 

Megumi felt the force of Dirroth and she stepped back , her parents taking her arms. Megumi's father looked again at Dirroth with so much hate and he spoke to him. 

-I thought that demons were a legend or something of the past but I was wrong. This demon is so ugly... 

Megumi's mother was scared for her daughter. She was still wounded and she looked pretty tired. She knew that this demon won't be so easy to deal with. 

Dirroth was walking and a few meters behind , he heard what they said about him. He knew that they will hate him , as usual. He kept his human like face ,but his eyes were burning in the dark. He didn't want to stop or confront them , even if he was a demon. He just continued walking in the forest and he didn't think about them anymore. 

-What a stupid girl , he said in his mind , while he was walking. But... He still cared about her. She was the only person to show him kindness in the last 200 years. 

-That stupid girl. Why I even saved her? Why I even cared about her... 

She isn't gonna care if I go away right? 

Megumi's words still haunted him. He stopped in the forest and looked at the moon. He also looked at his hands. His demon ones. They were full of scars with black claws. He remembered how Megumi was looking at him. He knew that she didn't care about his demon form but still...he wanted to stay with her. He was confused and that moment was a turning point for him. 

He started to think that maybe this could really happen. Megumi might break the curse... What if I was a human again? He thought about himself being a normal human , without a single power. What will happen then? 

-Aha...you care for her now, after all these things? He asked himself and he knew that he wasn't happy in his demon form. He wanted to be a normal person again. 

-Megumi, what were you thinking? You wanted to be with that..with that demon?! 

Megumi's mother was furious and her father was just shaking his head , trying to say that she was a complete idiot. 

Megumi tried to defend herself. 

-He saved me from a situation and he didn't want to make any trouble... He was also very...nice to me. 

Megumi's mother was more furious when she heard that the demon was nice to Megumi. 

-Your Majesty... It was my mistake. I really throught my lady was in danger. I was wrong.... says King Gusion while bowing 

The king looked at Gusion and then at his daughter. 

-So my daughter was not in danger after all. I see that it was all a misunderstanding. 

Megumi's father then looked behind him. 

-So there's no need for guards to catch him or punish him. It was just a misunderstanding. 

Megumi's father and the king looked at her , waiting for an answer. What was she going to say? 

Megumi's mother was still mad at her. She looks at her while her eyes was full of disappointment. 

-We were all worried, you know? Gusion had to search for you because you decided to be with that demon. Your father was worried. 

Megumi didn't speak and her mother continued. 

-Are you listening to me? 

Megumi felt like a little girl in front of her mother and she said something. 

-Yes mommy. I'm sorry, I won't talk with that demon again. 

Gusion saw that the king and her mother was still mad at her and he decided to take all the blame. 

-Your majesty, this was all my mistake. I thought wrong ,I didn't check the situation well and I just saw that demon. Maybe if I wasn't so quick to judge , none of these things would happen... 

The king looked at him after hearing what he said. 

-Don't worry , Gusion. Things like that happen all the time. 

Megumi's mother didn't expect that the King will say something like that. 

Megumi walked towards the carriage and she was a little mad at herself. She knew that she wouldn't see that demon again but she didn't want that. She was even starting to like him. What would happen if she really finds him again? She could get punished. She decided to just let that demon be and just don't think about him anymore. 

She was annoyed that Gusion kissed her. Her first kiss... 

She couldn't believe it. She thought about it and it was her biggest fear. Imagine marrying someone who you don't love... 

Her mother was sitting in the carriage , waiting for her daughter. When she saw her, she spoke. 

-You have no choice Megumi. It seems like it's destiny for you and the King to be together. It's written on the wall... 

Megumi felt like she is already crying. 

-I...I don't love him... 

Her mother was quiet , hearing this and seeing her daughter crying. She didn't want to see her like this. After a while , she spoke again. 

-Don't tell me that you love that demon. 

Megumi was quiet but she didn't deny , her eyes were full with tears. 

-I don't love him.... I... I just.. Megumi couldn't continue 

Her mother was shocked when she heard that. 

-Megumi, how do you even dare? The King would never be with a girl that doesn't love him. 

Megumi was still crying. 

-The demon is far away now. You don't have to think about him. You will marry the King and you will have all the comfort and wealth that is waiting for you. 

Megumi tried to listen to her mother but something is still holding her back. 

Megumi spoke in a angry voice that she never used before on her mother. 

-My sister's wedding was a joke! She married the son of your favorite merchant...I know why you did it...she was just 16... 

Megumi's mother was angry now. There was a moment when she thought if she should yell at her or just shut her daughter forever. She decided to stay calm. 

-Your sister loved him and they were happy. So what's the problem Megumi? 

-Then why i saw tears? I know my sister too well... They were not of happiness

Megumi's mother felt angry but she kept calm.

-It's the right thing to do Megumi. He is a perfect man to spend your life with! He is a king with a strong position. He's not like a demon who is lost in the forest , he was nice to you because you were alone. If you really loved him , he would probably run away. Megumi's mother kept talking , trying to make Megumi listen to her.
