CHAPTER 3

Talia widened her eyes in disbelief as she saw her name tattoed on Agatha's thighs. She was scared that people would begin to speak about it. Talia rushed to her and helped her stand but the shame that Agatha had on her face really scared everyone who looked at her in awe. Agatha quickly went and sat on one of the chairs. On seeing this, Alani dismissed everyone for the rest of the day. Everybody proudly and happily left except for Agatha and Talia together with the baby. Talia immediately went to her handbag gave the child toys to play with.

She therefore went back to Agatha and started checking up on her. Agatha pushed her away. She felt she couldn't tolerate the mind game that Talia was playing. All the pain of waiting for someone you love for three years only to come back and leave you was enough for her. Agatha stood and slowly limped out of the house. She called out to her chauffer who immediately came and helped her out as Talia followed her a bit concerned.

' Mother! Please check my toy. It seems to be broken' said Melody the child as Talia quickly turned behind her and looked at the child passionately.

She went back towards the child and assisted her out while Agatha stared at her filled with lots of anger. She instead entered her car and left. Talia made Melody's toys and carried her back inside the house. She made a call and waited to get picked up.

Her chauffer arrived after a few minutes. Out of anger, Talia ordered her chauffer to drive as fast as he could. She just wanted to reach home. She found it hard to deal with past memories and present memories. Though the city hadn't changed that much. There were still traces of lots of clubs with policemen walking around incase people start bull fighting and killing each other like hens. Unemployment due to a lot of vendors walking around. Thieves looking around in deep state of confusion on who to steal from since everybody seemed suspicious.

Talia passed all this as she stared and wondered looking around till she arrived home. She quickly got out of the car and carried Melody running into the house. She put Melody on the couch and sat beside her as she heaved a sigh of relief.

Coincidences was what Talia hated the most. All she wanted was a peace of mind which couldn't be built due to past memories. Talia slowly closed her eyes as she breathed heavily. She always did this when she felt stressed out.

Agatha arrived at her home. She slowly got out of the car as tears of pain welled down her eyes. Unfortunately, she suddenly fell on the ground. The chauffer stared at her for a while with lots of panic before her called for an ambulance in his phone. Agatha was already bleeding from her mouth. The ambulance and the social media arrived in less than thirty minutes. That was how it was when someone veiled himself or herself with the famous gown. The world was always at their feet.

The media began taking photos and videos around the house then feeding the nation whereas the ambulance began doing first aid on her before putting her in the ambulance car and rushing her to the hospital. The media did not fail to take photos of paintings on her wall. This mesmerized everyone who were listening to the news to an extent that they forgot there was someone suffering.

As soon as Agatha arrived at the hospital, everybody was pushed away to pave way for her entry. That was the main reason why everybody in her city hated her. She always got everything which she was prone to get even when she couldn't be in control. Some who refused to pave way for her by being block headed were hit by a red cane popularly known as 'Bunsen burner'.

Agatha was taken to the operation room and the operation room guarded by many of her guards while two were inside to make sure that the doctor hadn't been paid by anyone and kill her in the process pretending that she died a natural death.

The news immediately reached Talia who had just been woken up from deep slumber by her best friend. She quickly wanted to leave carrying her handbag but her best friend immediately stopped her. She pushed her back and forcefully made her to sit on the chair. Talia intertwined her fingers as anger ran through her veins.

'You ain't going anywhere to see Agatha. You sit down and look after Melody' Amina shouted at Talia.

Talia shook her head in disagreement as her eyes suddenly turned to red. She quickly removed a blunt and lighter from her handbag and smoked.

'You won't understand the kind of sensation that she gives me when she touches me. She makes me feel as if it's us against the whole world. She has paintings of me inside her living room. She's tattoed my name on her thighs. She is the version of me. I see myself in her. I am hurt right now because she is hurt. It's as if I am the one bedridden in that theatre room. She is all of that to me and I can't believe that I am sacrificing all of this because of Melody and her good for nothing father whom I will make sure won't put a ring on my finger once he comes to this town' said as she started massaging herself till Amina immediately ordered her to stop.

Talia was indeed drunk in love but she could really interfere with the present. She knew Agatha had no one except her. She resented her family five years ago when she met Talia and her family somehow seemed to lie about how they were happy with her relationship.

'He is coming back soon and you better start the wedding preparations' said Amina.

'I want her to see and Melody then once she opens up her eyes. I want to tell her the whole truth of what happened to me when I was out of town. She needs me' said Talia in pellucid voice.

Talia immediately carried her handbag and Melody at her back then left. Amina stared at her filled with lots of anger.
