Chapter four

I ride back to Paul loan and rush inside.

A man walks to me. I turn to look at him urgently, "I need to see Paul. He asked me to come over."

The man study me for a moment. I don't like the expression he has on his face but I'm not going to worry about him. He's the last thing on my mind at this very moment.

"There!" He says and gestures to the door by his left.

I walk to the door and knock slightly, "it's Jayde, I'm_," I'm forced to a stop immediately when the door open. My heart made a thud at the sudden action and I stare up at a guy in his thirties, probably.

He watches me for a while with eyes gone dark and wide. Then he steps in and held the door for me to walk in.

I look at him, his acting so weird.

Inside, Paul and a woman sat on the sofa. The guy walks closer and sit opposite the woman.

"They are almost similar in all ways," the man says unbelievably.

The woman looks up at me now and I have to start thinking something is wrong somewhere. Is something I'm unaware of happening?

She suddenly gets up and walk to him. She holds my hands together in hers, "How can this be?"

I slowly let go of the woman's hands. I don't know what she's talking about and I'm not ready to. What I'm concern about here is going home with my mom.

I walk to Paul, "What did you say I have to do to get my mom back?"

He didn't answer immediately. He's busy going through a magazine. He stops opening the pages and throws the paper on the floor towards me so that the page at which he was looking at is wide opened before me.

Is he kidding me?

I watch him with my raised brows.

"Look at the image," he says softly and I bend to pick up the magazine. The first thing I caught was the caption, "Billionaire Hattie is back in style."

I trace it back to a woman dress in designer trousers and blouse. My hands shakes as I stare at the face on the paper.

What the fuck! I drop the magazine and look up at Paul, "What the fuck are you planning?" I couldn't even think clearly.

How can there be me on the paper, dressed like that. I can't even afford that kind of dress on her.

Is Paul playing pranks on me?

"Does it look like I called you here to play with you?" Paul's voice was stiff and without emotion. I don't think he's lying and I don't think he's telling the truth either.

The man from the other time walks up to me and stretch out a picture. I take it and stare at the lady in the picture and this time I can see her face clearly.

How the heck do we look so much alike. Even the smile seems so similar.

"That's Hattie Everett and this is her mother," he gestures to the woman, "This is Beatrice Everett."

My mouth went wide open as I stare at the woman. I can't believe she's Beatrice Everett. Well, everyone in the neighborhood knows who the Everett are.

They are billionaire, they inherited their wealth but the reason why they are not on Ayles billionaire is because they are half caste.

But I'm still finding it difficult to believe I look like Hattie Everett!

This is the best news I have ever received in my life. What does it mean if you resemble a rich person, a billionaire for that matter?

Does it mean I will eventually make it in my life?

It could mean I will be rich later on.

"Are you even listening!" A deep, loud voice force me out of my thoughts.

I sigh and look down at Paul. I don't even know why I'm here or why they are showing me the images of Hattie.

"I told you I would release your mother if you can do something?" He looks up at me now, " I want you to pretend to be Hattie Everett for three weeks."

The world seems to stop for a minute or was I the one that stopped breathing?

" I don't get that?" I fumble for words as I stare at the woman again. Perhaps, they are trying to tease me or something.

"Just for three weeks. You will be Hattie Everett for three weeks and you will be back to your life."

I laugh briefly. It still doesn't make any sense to me, " Very funny. Why will I pretend to be Hattie? Are you guys playing tricks on me?"

Paul shakes his head slowly and i sink into the deep of darkness. What's happening?

"Hattie ran away," the young man interceded, " She wouldn't pick her call. That's why we need you to be here till she's ready to come back."

Why will Hattie run away? Well, I do know how those rich children acts. Majority holds themselves so high especially those foolish Ayles billionaire.

That reminds me. I still have revenge book to open on Declan. I am going to make him pay for kissing and sacking me.

To do that, I will need money to bail my mom out first because there's no fucking way, I will ever pretend to be Hattie.

I've always wanted to be rich but what kind of thing is having the fame and money for three weeks. What will happen to me afterwards?

I can't even think it like that. If I will get rich, then I will be the one to work hard and earn it.

"I'm sorry Paul but I can't do that."

"Why?"

"Because there's no fucking way I will act like Hattie. The thought of it gives me goosebumps."

"I will give you a million dollar," the woman says suddenly and my heart momentarily stopped breathing.

What! One million dollar!

With it, I can actually be the rich girl I have always wanted to be.

I can get a house, a car and even establish my mom. I would go to school and eventually be the beautician I had wanted to be.

I would be able to get clothes and shoes!

OMG!

"Are you in or out?" The man voice broke the void I'm suspended in.

I look at him now and smile widely, "I will be damn if I reject to help someone in need, don't you think so?'

I laugh and look back Paul, "I'm in!" I can feel the excitement in my voice.

And I can feel the movement of butterflies in me. How can lick suddenly shine on me?

I thought fate had abandoned me!
