Escape

He tried freeing his hands from it's binding,make it a little bit slacker. He discovered that it was made of an elastic material. It was obvious that the person who tied him up wasn't experienced.

"Great,like this, I'm sure I'll be able to free myself" he thought as he continued freeing his hands. After a while, he was finally able to pull out one of his hands, freeing himself. He quickly untied his legs and freed himself and smiled as he stood up and stretched his body.

"Next up,escaping the guards. How...?" He frowned as he thought. He snuck to the window and peeped at the guards at the door,who were neglecting their duties as they slept with their back against the wall.

"Chance...." he climbed out through the window and landed silently. He looked around and saw no one around before running towards the exit. Unluckily for him,as soon as he got to gate,he was seen by a guard on patrol duty.

"He's escaping, Charlie O'brien is escaping " the guard shouted as sounded the alarm,waking up the guards and residents of the building. They rushed out, only to see Charlie jumping down the gate to the other side.

"How could he escape,where are the guards that where supposed to watch over him? "

"Quick,after him" George O'brien shouted as he came our of his room.

"Contact the soldiers at the city gates and instruct them to not allow anyone out. That boy must not leave this city.The city is now on lock down!!" He continued giving out orders as he fumed in rage. Meanwhile, Charlie was running through different streets and alleys to avoid being spotted as made his way to South gate,which was the furthest from his location. He was going through here so as confuse them,as the east gate was the closest.

He ran all the way to the south gate,only to find out it was locked and was heavily guarded.

He pondered on what to do as observed them,and discovered that although it was heavily guarded,the guards were lax in their duties. Some were discussing with lecherous expressions, some were sleeping while some were drinking. He smiled as he came up with a plan. He snuck up to them without making a sound and singled out a guard who was sleeping. He reached out and knocked him out before dragging him to a dark alley.He came back out dressed in the guard's uniform and walked up to the other guards.

"Halt,the city is on lock down and no one is allowed to leave" a guard stopped him as he was about to reach the gate.

"Relax man,I ain't going nowhere. I'm just going to the bushes outside to take a dump. I'll be back before you know it. It's really urgent and I gotta go. Besides,who would notice that I was missing if you didn't tell 'em".

"Well,if you say so. Just don't take long "

"I won't ".Charlie said as he walked through the small gate meant for commoners. As soon as he got out,he started running into the distance without stopping. He soon got to a forest and climbed a tree. He got to the top branch and lied on it to rest.

"I'm out,finally. I had to run away like a rat because of you bastards. I lost everything I held dear and suffered so much because of y'all . When I return, I'll have my revenge and kill every single thing with life in it in your families. Not even a chicken will be spared".Charlie muttered to himself as clenched his fists till they became pale.

"I'll need to become strong before then. And the first step to my acquisition of strength is to get that treasure ". He brought out the map he tucked under his shoes after he left his room and observed it.

"Luckily,it isn't too far away from here. But,it'll still take two days if I go by foot. I'll go immediately after resting a little. I'm so tired and hungry right now ". He held his stomach after remembering he didn't eat anything for the whole day. He looked up and discovered it was almost sunrise.

"Time to head out and see if I'll get anything to eat " he got down from the tree as he walked deeper into the forest.

Inside star fall city, George could be seen sitting in what seemed to be a throne,with two guards kneeling before him as they trembled in fear.

"You were tasked to look after him,yet you fools fell asleep and let him escape. Do you know the consequences of your negligence?" George asked with killing intent in his voice.

"My lord, we're sorry.I swear it would never happen again" one of the guards said with a trembling voice.

"Yes,we never expected he would break free from the bindings. Please forgive us " said the other guard.

"Hahaha..funny .Still,that doesn't change the fact that he escaped, so someone will have to pay for it".he grinned as he grabbed a sword from a guard by the side and swung it twice,chopping off the heads of the guards. They still had shock and fear in their eyes as their head fell off their necks and rolled a little before coming to a stop. The other guards in hall shivered as they saw the detached heads rolling about.

"Contact the Chu and Damien family. Tell them he has escaped. We need to plan our next course of action". He instructed as he left the hall.

"Yes!"

Inside the Chu family, Chu Yang just received the news and stormed out of his room and left for George's manor.

Such also happened in the Damien family as Damien Dunlop also rushed out and was also headed.

"How could he have escaped. Weren't you supposed to watch over him, now you're telling me he escaped. I Need an explanation " Chi Yang roared as he walked in,followed by Damien Dunlop.

"How could be careless? Do you know what you've done?" Dunlop also shouted.

"You both should mind your manners. I understand you're angry but that doesn't give you the right to scold or shout at me" he frowned as he spoke to them in a cold voice.

They both calmed down a little as they realised they spoke out of line. They sat down as they thought of different possible solutions.

"We'll,since it's happened, I suggest we send some men after him". George spoke up,breaking the silence.

"Well,it's the only thing we can do now. But which gate did he go through?" Chu Yang asked as he stroked his beard.

"That...you see i don't know ". George said with an embarrassed expression.

"Sigh,you guys are just too much. First,you let him escape,then you don't even know where he went through?" Damien Dunlop asked sarcastically.

"That's why I called you guys. We should dispatch some guards to search for him from all sides. They would spread out and search. I believe we'll get him then. What do you guys think?"

"We'll go with that. It's not like we have any other choice " Chu Yang agreed and looked at Damien Dunlop who nodded his head.

"Great,so let's go" they all got up and walked out to instruct the city guards.

Charlie didn't know any of that as he swung his sword about,practicing his swordplay. After walking for a while, he found a stream and drank from it. He caught a fish and roasted it and ate after which he started practicing his swordplay. He practiced all morning before resting.

He sat by the stream and thought of family, shedding tears as recalled some of the times together. And then,he remembered their murderers and the way his mother died,stabbed by a spear from behind and the gentle way she looked at him.How his beautiful sister was raped and asked to get revenge for her. Also,his father who died in battle. He cried bitterly for a long time,his voice turning hoarse before standing up.

"I swear to the heavens and the earth, they must pay for their actions. I'll make sure I send them to hell,even if it's the last thing I do" he vowed as he cut his palm and let the blood flow out. He walked away as he made his way towards a mountain in ahead. He climbed to it's top and looked out. He saw the trees swaying gently in the wind,the animals living in the forest moving about to search for food. Along with some smaller mountains, with beautiful rivers flowing through different channels, with birds flying in the sky. Together with the sun which was setting made the whole scene look like a beautiful painting. He stood there,as still as a statue,and fell into a daze.

"Nature is beautiful. I which I could always see such beauty " he thought as the sun hid and darkness came.

"Time to meditate" he sat down as he started feeling the spirit qi in the atmosphere. Hoping to open his dantian and finally be able to cultivate.
